Funny, it never dawned on me. Are you getting better at teaching as you teach? Thru my entire life most music teachers I've encountered drone thru lessons like a never ending loop. You've done it again Maestro Robin, you break it down so simple! I've struggled for decades trying to get my head around this particular genre of music. And my hat's off to you, I'm almost as happy as you! You always look like you just won the lottery! Hope all's well with you and your loved ones... ciao
hey Ronan - yes The Club is awesome - apart from the massive library of lessons you can get private coaching from me and support from the community. We meet every Sunday on zoom too for an open mic - a lot of fun! You can always try it out here www.GypsyJazzClub.com - Happy New Year! Robin
that flavour you get played over the E half dim suggests a life of talent, study, insight and inspiration.. ha ha .. we knew it was just a trick all along you sneaky genius world class guitarrists of the world!! bt serious.. Thanks for sharing that Rob.. makes sense of a lot
Hey Robin! I remember you showing us that awesome little arpeggio over minor chords. It’s the phrase I’ve been practicing the most. I never thought to try it over everything else! Brilliant. Your ideas have really helped my playing, thank you again! 🙏🤜🤛
This Magic Arpeggio is the musical equivalent of a " master key" it lets you get into several different keys and opens up the dialogue in each of them, what a genius idea Robin. Every guitarist should learn these arpeggios to transition from one key to another. There will be other "master keys" too , and these will open up the entire fretboard to new improvising ideas. Thanks Robin.
Another great lesson thank you! I saw you playing in a trio many years ago on the Leidseplein in Amsterdam, where I live. We haven't seen your Djangus guitar for a while, could you make a video with it? :)
Hi Robin thanks for this helpful information. My band plays How high the Moon in D so I assume I can use the same concept by using the relaive minor arpeggios in Bm? Thanks for your help. Johnny.
Hi Robin. Love the video. Can I ask when you get to the high register are you noodling around on a C ? ( on 8th fret) and back to the Bb (6th fret 1st string). It's sounds really cool.. Thank you for video(s)
Certainly does 😁 I am working from home, which gives me time to noodle around. Trying different ways to ascend and descend the arpeggio. Thank you All the best 😊
