I've been reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward. They have some of the most unique Vampires I've ever read. Plus, some great steamy scenes!

Not the steamiest, but The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee is one of the best books I've ever read featuring romance. I normally can't stand pining and people not confessing their crushes to each other and angsting about it, but somehow she made it work, and she made it beautiful.
I didn't care much about the plot, but the romance! was amazing!
Lol yes! I read that book recently and I can't stop swooning over it. I think it's made its way into my top favorite books because Monty is so adorably stupid and the romance is so sweet

I love that you included the bone season. It’s one of my all time favourite series and also contains probably the steamiest non-explicit scene I’ve ever read.
Here are some of my favs 💕:
- The Bird and the Sword (Amy Harmon)
- Lose Me. (MC Frank)
- Beauty of the Beast (Rachael L. Demeter)
I really liked the Dark Magick series by Anya Bast.
They're definitely explicit romance books, but have a really interesting fantasy aspect (fae-based) as well. Each book deals with a different couple in the world, but all follow a unified story arch as each of the characters' stories intertwine into the broader plot. I highly recommend! Wicked Enchantment is the first one (of 4), but the 2nd book, Cruel Enchantment, is my favorite of the series.

Reading the Daughter of smoke and bone series... Finished the second book yesterday..... I FREAKING LOVE IT!!! LAINI TAYLOR IS MY NEW FAV AUTHOR LIKE INSTANTLY WHEN I FINISHED READING HER BOOKS! YES THE BOOK HAS SOO MUCH MORE!! SOOO CREATIVE I LOVED IT!! I dont know why i didnt pick it up sooner!!
The fever series is one my favorites SO good.
angelfall is SUCH a fun trilogy! the setting is really interesting and really dark. and then the romance is absolutely amazing. there's so much humour but at the same time sexual tension between the two love interests in this book. you cannot help but love them!

I find SJM’s romance so cringey 😫 there was a moment in a tower of dawn where ‘she licked the sweat of his neck’, I had to put down my book to get over this like nooo. She always goes over the top with her romance, the characters are always like dying of love stfuu

Also in ACOWAR, Rhys noticed that Feyre was covered in filth and sweat and told her he wanted to “lick it off of her” and I am forever traumatized by that (also “feasting” will never be a normal word for me anymore)

Honestly, SJM needs to find different ways of describing the clitoris. If I have to read the phrase “bundle of nerves at the apex of her thighs” one more time, I might pass out
P.C Cast's House of Night series also falls under the paranormal, steamy romance category :D I read and enjoyed the first few books in the series. Great video, Regan! :)
I'd recommend Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward and Dark Hunters by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Midnight Breed by Lara Adrian.
Right before you mentioned daughter of smoke and bone I thought to myself that it would be on my list of romance recs! I loved the first book haven't read the rest though

I'm a huge fan of the ACOTAR series. I'm having some difficulty getting through book 2 of ATOG though. Im now anxiously waiting for the new ACOTAR BOOK. Thanks for your other recommendations. Other than reading books, I've watched Altered Carbon on Netflix today and I can tell you: as not a major fan of sci-fi, I still enjoyed this series. Mainly cause of the cool SGI, but also because of the steamy scenes 😉 just thought I'd let you know.

Nah, I hated ToG as each installment. It peaks at book 2 tbh and then SJM destroys character development for readers to jump ship to another couple. I hate the series so much now but I’m determined to see it through to the end
It took me so long to get through the TOG series but I think after the second book it gets better, the 4th book I’d say is definitely the best but I did enjoy the 3rd, 4th and 5th books so much more than the first 2

I finished the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series in like 2 weeks. It was SO GOOD. Not nearly as cheesy as it sounds when you try to describe it to someone 😂
I've read the Throne of Glass and didn't enjoy it at all! Celeane was said to be cruel and cold-blooded killer which she was not! Romance wasn't the main reason what I thought this series would be. Now that I know that the story is romance centered I might enjoy it more. But characters were really, really shallow (except Chaol). And (in Finland at least) the series was promoted as "Game of thrones for girls" which I think is totally wrong way to promote any book

OMG SAMEEEEE. I honestly felt so betrayed after I was finished with the third book. I was so pissed because Chaol was treated so unfairly.
Is ACOTAR good? How's the main female lead?
Celaena was said to be cruel because that was the reputation she had in the story! And the shock you had when you start the book and realized she was none of what she was said to be (except for badass, she's undeniably skilled) is the same shock the other character had when they first met her. She IS a killer, she is very well trained and does have a dark past and strong story, being feminine, a little naughty and also having a romance story shouldn't erase or minimized all of that ;)
I'm on the last Daughter of Smoke and Bone novel and I was just thinking about how perfect it would be for this list when you mentioned it. Amazing book!!

I know! When I was putting the list together I noticed my GLARING absence of LGBTQ options - something I am going to fix moving forward (and will for sure be include in my next version of this!!)

My own favorite steamy books are all adult Urban Fantasy series. Namely, 1) the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton (which feels all about the [graphic] sex scenes starting in book ten, but Anita continues to grow, so I still love her 😊); 2) the Merry Gentry series, also by Laurell K. Hamilton (very graphic right from book one 😊); 3) the Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews (VERY graphically steamy starting in book two 😊❤); 4) the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews (can't presently remember when the sex starts in this series, but it's sooo good! 🎉❤); and 5) the Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews (also can't presently remember when the sex starts in this series; not in book one, possibly in book two, definitely in book three 😊).
"That's right my friends...Angel Love" LOL You killed me with that line :) That Dark Artifices steamy scene that Cassandra Clare put up on tumblr, tho. Oh my. The romance and forbidden love is too good in Dark Artifices in general.

I only wanted to read to the point where Magnus and Cleo reunited because I couldn't handle that cliffhanger last year, but I couldn't put it down and ended up reading the whole damn book! They're one of the hardest group of characters for me to let go of, I miss them all so much already😭❤️

I totally agree that SJM writes some damn addictive romances! She’s not perfect, and there are a few things about her writing I’m quite iffy on, but man... I read ACOWAR in a day lmao.
In terms of slightly more adult romances, I just started reading Outlander by Diana Gabaldon! I’m about 2/3 of the way through the first book and I’m really loving the relationship between Claire and Jamie. The TV show isn’t bad, either!

Incubus by Carol Goodman is probably my favorite book in this kind of genre theme thing. I love how its written with this sense of magic in a really old earth kind of way and that it contains a lot of celtic mythology and legends! The style is gothic and lyrical and the story gets kind of creepy every now and then too. Some nights on which I read I felt a sudden urge to turn every light on in my house hahaha. Also, the romance is amazing and the story will keep you on your toes the entire time for sure. 😉🙌

Fae Fever and Angel Fall both look amazing! However, I wouldn't call a lot of these books steamy because they seem to be mostly YA and NA.
One of my all time favorite steamy urban fantasy/post apocalyptic series is the Magic Bites series by Ilona Andrews. It’s quirky, sarcastic, and has a really cool magic system and a TON of sexual tension between the two main characters. Definitely worth reading the first few, but the later ones do tend to drag a bit.
THE BONE SEASON IS SO SO SOOOO GOOD EVERYONE SHOULD READ IT
For everyone who wants some non straight steamy romance: Go read the Captive Prince trilogy! It's so good because it doesn't only feature around romance but also has a super interesting plot and characters!

If you like supernatural romance, try the Riley Jensen series by Keri Arthur. It has some great steamy scenes while still having an engaging, action packed plot line. Bonus that the main character is a kick ass woman. Also, the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward.

You really need to read The Fae Chronicles by Amelia Hutchins. It has everything, humor, steamy scenes, plot twist and the best of all..... RYDER. I loved it I hope you do too

You NEED to read the Kricket Series (Trilogy) by Amy Bartol. The first book is called "Under Different Stars". I haven't seen any book tuber talk about the series at all, but its got a great heroine and very intense plot, with some steamy romance. One of my favorite trilogies!

Highly recommend Air Awakens by Elise Kova. It is an amazing story in a fantasy world, great characters that are also flawed and grow and change throughout the book, addicting plot, beautiful romance and inspiring friendships.
You will thank me later, Elise Kova is a recent discovery I have come to love.
