If you are a gardener in zone 9a or 9b, there are so many gardening tasks to get done year-round. But by the month of June, gardening tasks tend to change. It's less about planning and planting and more about tending to our plants and caring for our garden so that everything can thrive.
It's also very likely that you have fresh fruits and vegetables that are ready to harvest which is such a fun time! But it's important to stay on top of weeds and pests and take care of tasks such as pruning. So throughout this video I share all of my tips and tasks to be working during the month of June and go over crops that you can still plant if you have not planted yet!
If you'd like a guide to follow that will help you grow a successful garden all year long be sure to check out my Complete Zone 9b Vegetable Gardening Guide below.

We have cantaloupe melons already! However they’re small. Any idea why?
Also, many of the cantaloupe plants have died already too.
    Same with beans and peas.
Both started out great but produced very few fruits before dying. They’re all under a new shade house which has helped tremendously.
Whereas the tomatoes, eggplant and sweet potatoes are thriving. So I just say “grow what grows” so tomatoes eggplant and sweet potatoes it is!!
Also, what grows well in mostly shade? An unintended consequence of our new shade house is that the other in covered half of the garden is mostly shaded. So we had zero luck with anything substantial growing in that 25x25’ area.
Thanks for the encouragement to keep planting! It can be discouraging at times.

I currently don’t have any merchandise on my site at the moment, but I’m hoping to have them up soon! When they’re up you will be able to follow the link to everything in the description of videos. 😄

'As the black line lays in the sun...'
I have 100ft of garden hose stretched out from my garage spigot to my greenhouse. Whenever I go to use some water,
!MAN! That water is HOT!!! Scalding hot. I am reluctant to pour this hot water on my plants so I waste it by letting it pour
onto the grass until cool before I put any on my plants. What do you think? Your black irrigation piping must also be hot
as all bejeebers when it first starts after sitting in the hot sun?
    !

Yes mine does get very hot as well later in the day, I just make sure to water first thing in the morning so the water is nice and cool.

I planted tomatoes today that are already 6" tall. How long until harvest?
