Nobunaga is a straight up G. Seriously cool character, sophisticated, terrifying, unyielding, deep and without regrets.
The only boss where William actually loses the fight.

I like dark souls and bloodborne. But nioh gives me the good old gen games vibes. it's a mix of onimusha and devil may cry with a little dark souls. I personally enjoy it I can't complain.
Yeah it’s a fun game and interesting, people who are either new or getting into Dark Souls can start with Nioh.
I thought it was rather dull and on high levels just a spam your buttons fest.
The combat is only a cup deep and it doesn't matter most times because your either overpowered or underleveled.
A 12 year old version of darksouls, maybe a child with learning disability?
I finshed ds3 and ds1 and bloodborne and I didn’t finshed ds2 sekiro nioh 2
Also demon souls on ps5 didn’t finsh
And nioh 1 is like demon souls on ps4
Dark souls serious and now this , Japan sure really makes some interesting games
And dont forget Ninja Gaiden from the same guys who made Nioh.

I hope they revamp the inventory system for Nioh 2, too much clutter, we need more category list and list filters/sortings to allow for more controlled inventory handling, i legit get overwhelmed with all the crap i collect

That boss you have to bow to was a pretty neat aspect of this game that's the first time I've ever played a game that has using an emote to trigger a boss.
Where is it?
Its tricky to find on your first run but once you do oh boy it makes you jump.
Fair warning to newbies and casual players: the difficulty can't be lowered and it's very hard/borderline insane unless you're a seasoned pro with this kind of games. One or two hit at most often means instant death unless your energy is at max.

Ogress kinda reminds me of Mergo's Wet Nurse...
It's actually kinda easy. Probably they just buffed her damage and health in the final game.

Is it just me or are so many of the boss attacks impossible to read and only possible to avoid through trial and error. So many attacks seem to be not only very powerful, but also instant, giving you no chance to react at all. I feel like the souls games are much more fair about this.
Nah if u pay attention and use ur brain to make strategy the game become soooo easier

Go for omyo magic, take sloth spell and weakness spell. Just smash the button 😂😂, all enemies going so slow, even the boss. Make u easier doing combo 😊😊

So, for Marume Nagayashi... you just need to stab him with a spear every time he tries to get close to you, and he is stupid enough to never change his tactics and just try coming straight at you again
U Can All Day what u want but nioh's battle system Is above any other. Other aspects could have been done Better but Battle system depth Is insane

Tadakatsu, the strongest warrior of the sengoku era, doesn't even get his own theme. Come on Koei, he had one in samurai warriors for pete's sake.

Boss designs look pretty boring to me and why do all the Japanese guys look white? You got the hero of Japan an irish anglo-saxon white guy, Japanese bosses that don't even look Asian, and some random European wizard boss all in the middle of feudal Japan. This is beyond white washed.
I think game developers don't focus on racial apearance to so they won't be called racest? And i'm not mad at the protagonists apearance or story anymore, i like how it felt like i was playing the witcher. I think William is based off of a real Life foreign sailer Wiliam Adem turned samurai and that's also what the 'last samurai' movie was based off of too i think, or the movie was fictional but the protagonist was based off adam idk
He wasn't a samurai, it was an Englishman who worked as a navigator and naval pilot during the dutch trade with Japan. They same thing happened with the Portuguese, the Nanban era. Of course they've over exaggerated his looks in this game cause Japan loves to make their heroes white, blonde and blue eyed warriors and he's not even English, this guy is Irish, even more proof they just wanted a fictional white guy in feudal Japan setting. If this game is based on REAL historical event characters from Japan then they should have at least looked Japanese. Tachenaba looks NOTHING like a Japanese and Edward Kelley looks NO where near any resemblance to the real Edward Kelley, its a joke.

at least until you get to the double boss fight. then I had a beast of a time nobunaga and his wife and the two ninjas

For some reason shima saikon gave me the hardest times and most deaths... all bosses were probably less than 10 or 5 deaths after the first one where I was getting used to mechanics.. his damn lightning spear just gave it to me hard idk why just couldn't avoid him.. otherwise great game very fun

You have those numbers on the top bars I don't know why. And your health bar is longer, in my case I have 20 in body but still is the same size than at the beginning. Is this cause by having an specific guardian spirit?
The 3 "kelleys" you need to defeat to get to the last boss was actually the hardest fking shit tbh. Till I found out you can cheese the two yokai before fighting them 😂
So, do the Jorogumo's webbings even do anything? You seem to be able to walk into them and not get slowed down... even Diablo2 and 3 has that though

Is it just me or are the bosses in this game way more random than the ones in dark souls. I feel like some bosses have way more really powerful, unpredictable attacks and unpredictable attack patterns in general than anything in the souls games.
Most of the bosses are just dudes in armor though. and almost all of the move sets are the same! that's pretty damn predictable, Or at least compared to Dark Souls it is
Inappropriate Username they are more random because the gameplay is faster paced and the player's character can react fast, especially because attack/dodge animations end up quickly and apparently can be cancelled.. In Souls games enemies are more predictable and telegraphed because your character can't cancel movements, so it would be impossible to beat if enemies acted like the ones in Nioh do

edit: its move set is similar in the regards of what it does, but they did not *steal* animations, so it's all good (im not saying thats what you said, but its good they didn't steal animations). There are many instances of 4 legged creatures that attacked like Nue in previous games even before monster hunter.

Tommy Vang Makes sense. Not many variations on how large, bulky cat/dog like quadrupeds move, eh? Just the part where the Nue roars and the lightning comes down around it is pretty 1 to 1 with the Zinogre (I'm more familiar with the MH series). I appreciate your input though!

The Nobunga fight straight up pissed me off because you have to be straight up whipping his ass in order for the cut scene, where he is supposedly whipping yours, plays.

One huge difference between this game is the story, Dark souls forces you to put together the pieces of the puzzle yourself, this game does that for you. And this game doesn't give you that sense of utter loneliness that Dark souls does.
I know you're not completely alone but there aren't exactly droves of people around as you go through the game, it gives a very solitary feeling through most of it though.

This game is nothing like Dark Souls. This game has a lot more in common with Onimusha, Ninja Gaiden and Tench. Nion only contains minor shit like bloodstains, some of the GUI, and health. Otherwise it is its own game.
Nope. This game is all identical to other games especially dark souls. The only major different and perhaps unique it brings is fast pace battle, easier, more bosses (way too much), variety of weapons skills & those guardian forces thingie. Otherwise the story is real bad and the character is so irrelevant to the world, a white man mastered all japan fighting techniques and try to be like a japanese, just off.
Dark Souls truly does give you that sense of utter loneliness. How could one possibly feel more alone when there is at least 1 npc to have a nice chat with in almost every area? Truly creates that atmosphere of complete and utter isolation. At least in the original Dark Souls at least.
Am i the the only one whos still playing this? Also have refashioned their armors? cause like they have 7 stamina and A agility with shimas gear
in my opinion, the water monster and nobunagas wife were the two hardest bosses

In DMC it called Gigapede meaning "Giant Foot". While in Nioh,The Great Centipede were also Called "Omukade".

Tachibana Muneshige is a brick wall for me. I am fighting him w/ a sword though and this guy is owning him with the spear. Maybe that's part of my problem, but I didn't put any points into any of the other styles. This game is awesome but these bosses are making me wanna hang it up :(

Well he is blocking or dodging with good timing so you are invic for some frames

The Jasonater News flash, the frog from Naruto is based off of Japanese folklore and literature.
Kotori-nyan I think he knows but i thought it was cool. To this day that frog boss is my favorite fight and i call the boss gamabunta to reference the naruto series.
The Jasonater the "frog" from naruto (ナルト) is based off japanese mythology. And this game is basically about japanese mythology.
Actuallty, they are called "Ogama" which mean King/Giant Frog.

1st: ds1(was my first souls experience and that made it brutal)2nd: ds3(for the insane bosses and the lack of frickin poise)3d:bb(also insane bosses but the new combat system was easier for me)Nioh is a very nc game but is nowhere near as hard as the souls games. The mobs just hit you for half hp and that's it. Souls has so much variety on how to kill you. The mobs are plenty and unpredictable. Whoever says nioh is hard is a casual and never played the ninja gaiden on the hard dificulties
Hoodoo id say demon souls first mainly due to the world tendancies if you continued failing.
+rikkos mappouros ds3 is way easier than Nioh.
From hardest to easiest: Demon Souls, Dark Souls 1, Nioh, Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Dark souls 2.
Think Nioh isn't hard? go to new game + to had a challenge. Stuff like facing Oda plus Yukii Onna at the same time is crazyl.
A standard gameplay difficulty and new game+ difficulty is all different. Most of the player play the game to enjoy the game not punishing own self so what's the point comparing a new game+ to standard new game? Is like your opinion don't matter because there are always a better and advanced one out there.
