Music video by The Cure performing Catch. (C) 1987 Polydor Ltd. (UK)
I always found it interesting that people thought The Cure were depressing - I found them nothing but beautifully uplifting and just exquisite.
I totally agree!!!😊😊😊
it's just a surface level opinion that is held by such ignorant, clueless people
damn straight
💜💖🌺
just no other band covers everything from darkness to brightness. you can listen to The Cure songs in any mood.
What a masterpiece..Cure were a mix of love, depression, lost things, dreams.
Best comment ever... You describe the feelings that The Cure leaves on our hearts every time you listen to this beautiful song...
Real life...

Perfect comment 😀 that combination make them unique
and perfect pop melodies
Maybe not many or anyone at all will get this, but this song gives me butterflies 🦋 🦋 🦋... why? Because I “see” my late husband singing it while driving and i just loved how his mouth went when he said “to catch her” 😍and I love that I still feel those butterflies even though he passed away a bit over 5 years ago.
❤🩹
Oh my goodness such a great song your husband is fortunate you love him my marriage is loveless, but I have music
I’m sorry about your loss- but those memories are the best, right? Seeing someone sing a song that reminds them of you 😢❤
Your late husband sang it like that because he thought you were beautiful and he adored you.
thats so beautiful and sweet 🥹🥹

If you could go back and repeat something you have done in the past, what would it be?

I appreciate😊🙏❤
Noooo!
@Adolfo Eduardo Tirado Carranza @Loli De Jesus is not saying it is.
Awwww
See ThE CuRe in concert again
This album is a timeless masterpiece.
My first Cure album. I listened to that cassette tape almost a year straight
Extremely underated song by The cure .... this in my top ten ever . 👌
Same here, it's beautiful, one of my very favourite Cure songs.
+Adam TownsendSurely is one of the greatest pop songs of the last century.
So agree. Song and lyrics are so amazing. Robert is so unique.
I rarely ever cry at stuff but this song is one of the few things that can make me weep uncontrollably. Just something about it
I agree
i always have to laugh when i hear it
Yep. I can cry to pretty much all of their songs. Same Deep Water and Letter to Elise...
@@o0blubblub0o I just daydream
The Same Deep Water as You is the one Cure song that makes me weep uncontrollably.
He’s so adorable in this video ❤️
Probably their most underrated tune
this song feels like it's captured moments in time
Absolutely it does 😊
This song is pure magic
I often vacation in the South hoping to see The Cure casually stroll by playing a nice tune like that
The south of Europe?

us plebs won't be allowed to travel anywhere for much longer - all in the name of 'net zero'
The Cure was there all through my teens.
I was 14 years old in 1987 when the Cure published " kiss me kiss me kiss me", they were the years of high school, and for me were the best years of my life ........the cure was the soundtrack of those wonderful years....how many memories...the best years that will never come back.....
This album was so amazing...i was 14 as well and would not change a thing. Those years were so formative for me!
Same. I discovered them at 12 and never stopped. Parents were not happy bout that.
Oh, but don't those memories come alive once again when u play them. It's pure magic.
The Cure helped shape my younger years. I’d lay in in the dark, listening, dreaming, as I was flooded with emotion.
Something about this song. Pure Gold!
100%
Same ❤
0:30 [Verse 1]
Yes, I know who you remind me of
A girl I think I used to know
Yes, I'd see her when the day got colder
On those days when it felt like snow
0:49 [Pre-Chorus]
You know I even think that she stared like you
She used to just stand there and stare
And roll her eyes right up to heaven
And make like I just wasn't there
1:08 [Chorus]
And she used to fall down a lot
That girl was always falling
Again and again
And I used to sometimes try to catch her
But I never even caught her name
1:44 [Verse 2]
And sometimes we would spend the night
Just rolling about on a floor
And I remember
Even though it felt soft at the time
I always used to wake up sore
2:02 [Pre-Chorus]
You know I even think that she smiled like you
She used to just stand there and smile
And her eyes would go all sorts of far away
And stay like that for quite a while
2:20 [Chorus]
And I remember she used to fall down a lot
That girl was always falling
Again and again
And I used to sometimes try to catch her
But never even caught her name
2:39 [Outro]
Yes, I sometimes even tried to catch her
But I never even caught her name
"And her eyes would go all sorts of far away" Love this line.
Thanks so much for the lyrics
Thank you. I always love when someone posts song lyrics like this. ❤
''Yeah we sometimes even spend the night..
Just rolling about on the floor (just rolling about on the floor..)
and i remember even though it felt soft at the time, i always used to wake up sour.''
Fucking genius. It just is.
Not "sour, but "sore"
Three minutes of sweetness, love and hapiness, a real masterpiece!
This album had so many great pop songs on it, I feel Kiss Me is vastly underrated
I'm ok with that you're right. :)
Agree
It's such a passionate and romantic album, different from the others because of that, this was the very first album that I bought from the Cure
But it has a bunch of filler too IMO, Hot, hot, hot is weirdly boring to me
At the time of release it was their most broadly critically acclaimed as well as their biggest selling album.
I agree with Lautaro though, when you compare it with the two albums its sits between, it has a lot of filler. It's length though does mirror the generousity of a Cure live show. Though, like Disintegration, _Head on the Door_ would be the choice for another defining album of their career showcase performance.
This song is so beautiful. One of my fav Cure tracks.
1:53 more great movement, and finally makes the growl cat hahaha soo cool robert smith
I've always loved this song from the bottom of my heart ❤️!
Loved The Cure since I was 11. I'm 48 now and remember one of my older brother's listening to The Head on The Door. I fell in love.... with Simon too!! God, what a hottie!!
they all look beautiful in the sun, especially Lol playing violin with the sea behind him. such beautiful lads
Porl looks best.
"playing violin"? 😄😄😄
the golden days of the cure!!! pure bliss!!!
de hace 12 Años 😮
I always liked how The Cure sounds so pleasant and soft and uplifting in their songs. They actually play some of the softest rock I've ever heard.
I've been in love with this song for years, yet I'd never got around to see the music video for it till now. Truth be told, it almost looks like the exact opposite of how I'd pictured it, but I still think it's beautiful.
this is so beautiful the way that he still loves her so much..
That's not love, lady.
Choco Manger i think it is
Still? :D
Sunshine Girl Art yeah they’re still together i think ?
The song is about Lilith, the whore of Babylon, Inanna, Ophichus etc nothing to do with an actual human being. If you look closely he keeps putting his finger upwards, it is not done randomly, this is known as the Babylonian finger. If you read the lyrics, it is all negative interactions with her and the title of the song is Catch, exactly who has been caught, he has.
This song always reminds me of a girl I used to know. Now this song is all that's there.
I hope she's doing well. She used to fall down alot.
At least you have something amazing to remember...
The song is about Lilith, the whore of Babylon, Inanna, Ophichus etc nothing to do with an actual human being. She was cast out of heaven. If you look closely he keeps putting his finger upwards, it is not done randomly, this is known as the Babylonian finger. If you read the lyrics, it describes very subtly the story, her eyes up to heaven, falls(cast) down a lot and all interactions with her are negative.
The title of the song is Catch, exactly who has been caught, he has.
@@Insp.CountMortisWinshipKlaw that's very cool. To me it's a girl I once knew who somehow slipped through my fingers in life. The times in the past that sometimes come back and remind me some like this.
Take care and have a fantastic year.
@@metafuel And thats why music is MUSE IC because she is the muse and will catch you anyway she can. She doesnt care if you interpret the song in your own way, its the emotional energy you provide, positive or negative, to the worship of her through the music. The I = 9 and the C = 3, it is the 93 pathway. She is the 9 and the cloud she fell from
This song reminds me of my first love. We saw the cure together as well. Although the break up broke me I always think to myself I’m happy it happened because it showed me it was all real. Never heard from him again because the last act of love was to leave him alone. Wish him nothing but the world.
The drums are an essential part of the song. Beautiful
Pure magic after all these years.
The soundtrack to my life…always on repeat
😮
I've been listening to The Cure since about 1984 when I was in high school. This was one of my fave songs. I still get chills listening to this and love Robert Smith looking adorably awkward at the end♥
esta canción es inmortal. Van a pasar 100 años y la seguirán escuchando.

Obra prima, The Cure é sem explicação 🔥❤️
i love this song so much, the cure is one of the best bands. (in my opinion.) their music has such deep meaning, and thought behind it.
One of the geniuses of the 80's melodic era. i'm proud to be in that scene before.
The prettiest song.
"last night" from Mhairi Mc Farlene brought me there!
