Congratulations, I'm so glad you came back from drugs and alcohol. I had 2 sons that was hooked on pills. One lost his family and everything he worked for, before coming back. The other one lost his family and everything he worked for, but it was too late for him. He lost his life after coming back because of what the drugs had done to his system. Drugs take over a person's life and changes them completely. And, once they get ahold of you no one can bring you back except yourself. This is a great song for understanding that. Love this band and their music. Keep up with who you are now.
Great southern rock band from the 60's-80's. It is very sad what happened to this band in losing so many members in a plane crash. My favorite songs are "Simple Man", "Free Bird" & "Sweet Home Alabama". They had lots of great songs such as "Call Me The Breeze", "Tuesday's Gone", "The Ballad Of Curtis Loew", "What's Your Name", "Gimme Three Steps" etc.
They never made it to the 80s, but the music certainly did. Greatest band ever in my opinion and it saddens me to think of all the music they might have put out that we will never hear.
The music rocks! I'd forgotten! Thank you!!! And your attention and understanding of the lyrics show your depth of experience and understanding. My father died of drink. I was 43. It's sad to go on so many years without your dad. You're gleaning the meat of the lyrics perfectly.
Dude.... just remember that nobody wants to be an addict. It doesn't happen the first time. It just slowly and quietly takes control of your heart and your soul and your brain. If you love someone, don't stop loving them because they have a problem. That's when you are needed the most. They are worth saving. I've seen it from both sides and grateful that people didn't give up on me and even more grateful that i never gave up on them. The greatest thing you can do in this world is serve someone when they need you the most, when you don't have to but just because you love them and show them how much worth they do have. God bless you for being vulnerable and transparent. Says a lot about you brother. The world needs more good dudes.
I just want you to k ow hat I have fought depression as well! I always thought that I was alone in my fear and want you to k ow how much I appreciate you. I didn't feel so alone when I heard your story! Thank you
I got quite angry on October 20 1977. I heard Ronnie Van Zant, Steve and Cassie Gaines died in a plane crash. All the great music like this they could have made. R.I.P.
James, God Bless you, glad you did this reaction. As much as Skynyrd had partied Ronnie Van Zant finally realized where it was leading them. When Rossington crashed his Gran Torino into an Oak Tree because of Ludes and Whiskey they had to cancel a bunch of shows. Huge wake up call for them. Unfortunately the plane crash happened a few days after the release of this album.
Ck comment b4 mine!! Intervention 101 Ronnie Van Style. Gary wrapped his car around that oak tree and that was it. They were all going on far too long. Love this beat, the message and gnarly riffs. My fav. 🔥 It's never too deep, still resonants today and needed.
Best part of the song was his line: “I know I BEEN THERE before..” In my Top 5 favorite songs of all time. Glad you made it thru. I managed to avoid most drugs. Weed is my only vice. No alcohol either. I credit it to me coming up as an athlete and not wanting to hurt my body
The best version is one more from the road. It's all live music. It's a double album by the Leonard. The song is called searching. I would do Lynyrd Skynyrd. The live version for one more from the road searching is the song. Everyone is searching for all right?
Skinner's got another song. That's just got 2 people in it and one sings. The song the other place that Dobro. Hey, I'm right. The song is called the 4 walls Wal LS of R. A. F o r d rayford four walls of rayford by leonard leonard skinnered
I really think that somebody needs to do a breakdown of the 4 walls because here's a reason why? Afore was arriford. Ronnie tells a story two ways so hot?😅😅😅😅😅
Wow James...all we heard growing up was ooh that smell...didnt think about the lyrics much. I just listened to them and i saw your face downcast after you spoke about your dad. I hate drugs. Ive almost lost my son to meth many times. But we have a blessed hope. Who can save us from this wretched life? Thanks be to God, Yeshua can
Kia ora my friend how are you doing today? I hope you have a big grin happening right now later on and on and on and on hay bro this Kiwi thinks you're a great example of how people should be kind gentle honourable genuine have a look in the mirror my those qualities are staring right back at ya James brother
"Now they call you prince charming, can't speak a word when you're full of 'ludes" is a reference to the drug Quaaludes. A couple of them and a person was pretty much falling over like a totally blitzed drunk. The took them off the market because way too many people overdosed on them.
Ronnie wrote this song because a couple of band members were self destructing and he was pissed but he also was understanding with the lyric You know I have been there before. When Ronnies daughter Melody was born he saw what was really important and wanted his bandmates /friends to get their act together before they ended up dead.
This song was about guitarist Gary Rossington's substance abuse.
Thank the Lord that he pulled you out of your addiction, young man. Great reaction!❤✝
