Always wondered how difficult it would be to do a full DIY repaint. Body panels, rub rails, roof caps, bumpers, roof, hood, cowl, service door, new reflective tape, the whole 9 yards. Given the good mechanical condition and maintenance record of this particular bus, I would seriously consider it. Cost is the largest factor, of course. Make it last another 20 years. You do you Adam, years of hard work paying off!
I've honestly considered repainting the entire bus, but swapping the yellow for a dark metallic blue. The main thing keeping me from doing that is that I don't have anywhere to keep it inside. If I'm going to spend a few thousand dollars on getting it fully repainted, I'm going to want it to last haha
Now that is totally awesome video about your new blue bird international I hope you are putting new lids lights around your new school bus and lids lights inside your new school bus keep up the good work my friend 👍 😀
Very nice bus indeed! I rarely see any 3800 international school bus anymore and the fact that you found and bought one clean is just incredible. I remember before I moved to Nc I lived in New Jersey and my first and last bluebird international I rode was in 2014 when I was in third grade. Really good runner back then when I remembered riding it.
Congrats! Really nicely spec'd bus with LEDs and that jackknife door. I really like that numbering on the back as well. Our 147 is a 2015 C2, I think I'll take this 3800 over that haha
Congratulations on getting 147! It looks to be in pretty good condition. I really like that jacknife door. I feel like there aren't that many Bluebird 3800's with jacknife doors. I can't wait to see what you're going to do to it in future videos.
Love that it has a jackknife door there my favorite doors 😂 my school has a bus like your freightliner bluebird ours just has a older body with brown interior a jackknife door stop state law on the back door pull switch control panel no paint around the warning lights and has one emergency roof hatch in the middle
Project681, lemme tell ya something That International bus that ya got there it reminds me that I rode on Central Square CSD #299 was a Blue Bird International 3800 as a spare bus
Congratulations Project 681. Im happy for you. Welcome 147!!!! What's cool about this is that Peter owned a Blue Bird International with the manuel folding door. You have the manuel Jack-knife door. And he currently owns a Blue Bird Freightliner with the 5.9 Cummins. You now own a Blue Bird International and a Blue Bird Freightliner. Difference is his has a 5.9 Cummins and yours is a Cat 3126.
8:32 If that length is not full size than almost half of my district's fleet here on long island is not full size. Our 3800's and fs65's max out at about 10 windows long (which for Long island is not really that short). I really like this bus though and I hope it will give you amazing memories and experiences along with 23.
147 and 23 look amazing together amazing fleet you have!! Also if you still have 594 can you put 23 and 147 and 594 all togther just for one time for the memories plsase that would be amazing!
147 looks perfect as it is! Very beautiful! Are you going to be putting on the LED arrow turn signals all around? And possibly getting a stop sign that has the new flashing/strobing LED lights on it (Like the buses found today with those)
Hey Adam that’s a very nice machine ! I like the trans temp gage, tilt wheel,, fancy :) glad to see good quality Fleetguard filters on the engine. Does it have red coolant or green?
@@ChrisSaf-T-LinerC21719 I'm still on the look for one! I was just telling Adam this the other day, there doesn't seem to be as many buses constantly up for sale out here in the southwest as there is in the midwest/east cost. I've had some opportunities to get buses and I regret not doing so then, but my search still continues and I'll get one when the time is right!
@@saftlinerc2 so what kind of bus are you looking for? Because I have a buddy down in Tampa Bus Sales that has a lot of good stuff for sale. He mostly has Florida specs but he actually sent me an email that he has some C2's for sale. They happen to be from my school district. He has some other good stuff. Like Blue Bird A3RE's IC RE's and others.
@@ChrisSaf-T-LinerC21719 I don't have anything particular in mind, my only requirement is that it's unique in some way shape or form. Florida is a little too far for me though because regardless if I ship it or drive it back myself, that'll be a pretty big expense added onto the bus cost and any initial maintenance that I have to do
@@saftlinerc2 I totally get it. I know getting a bus from Florida to Arizona is pretty expensive. It wouldn't be that much different getting it from there to Minnesota. I kind of thought about what specs I want my bus to be. I'm thinking either Texas, Maryland, or West Virginia. I'm not entirely a fan of Florida specs. But you all know there's only one Florida spec'd bus I absolutely love.
No offense I love the bus but I think 594 was a little more rare and cool and it was sad because it will probably rot now that you sold it but again love the new bus.
I loved 594, but my heart wasn't set on it as much as 147. 594 also had a lot of fairly important and expensive issues that I really didn't want to deal with.
That's one good-looking 3800! Love International!

LOve This bus Adam you have a good looking bus
I always wonder why the paint on the hood is not worn out on buses. NICE BUS!
Good looking bus. Congrats. For starters I'd put LED lights all around. Headlights ETC.
That's the plan! LED headlights were delivered, but I haven't put my hands on them yet.

Yep!

Does the AM/FM radio work in this bus
Yes
