i’ve visited my hometown recently and noticed all the 3800s are long gone and been replaced by Blue bird visions kinda saddens me because i still have lots of memories riding them in the 2000s :(
Imagine how I feel. I rode buses from the 1950s. In fact, in 1st grade, I rode a 1942 Chevrolet Superior 8 row to school. It had a 6 volt starter and a push button floor starter button. The Loadstar butterfly hoods were new buses to me. 3800 series buses came out long after I was selling used buses. I started selling buses in 1972. My first bus to sell was a 1957 Chevy Superior 9 row with a 262 inline six and a 4 speed manual transmission. My second bus was a 1959 Carpenter FE 72 passenger with a 302 six cylinder Chevy engine and Hydromatic transmission. I like old buses! I could always get them home.
GM sold, exclusively, to Bluebird. When GM stopped building a bus chassis, Bluebird had no chassis to use. That's why they built the Vision. GM became Volvo. The Vision is mostly a Volvo, today.

I rode a 94 b700 and an fs65 from 5th grade until highschool then a 2013 international max force
@@kevinbradwell659 I rode a 2012 Thomas EF in 5th grade then in high school I rode a IC CE propane
Great job in my favorite conventional bus.
These drive GREAT. So quiet... and cooler than other conventional buses.
Dual fuel! I like that!
Engines last longer on propane. Much longer!! AND, these have a huge propane tank that can be tapped into if you want to build a tiny house.
Nice bus!
VERY nice. Driven from Amarillo, TX.
For a 29 year old bus it’s pretty good shape
GREAT shape
What is the purpose of the pipe on the driver’s side, near the propane door?
To bleed off propane, if the tank leaks, and then burn it up high. A big torch! Fire up high. NOT real hot fire, so the bus doesn't burn.
Can you fill in the rest of the info? Is this a Bluebird By chevy?
1993 Chevrolet Bluebird

The title of the video is not correct. Did Bluebird buses REALLY used to have a Chevy chassis?
Yes can’t you see the Chevy emblem on the front and Chevy steering wheel it’s a Chevy chassis on blue bird bus body
@@Pa_school_bus_enthusiast the chassis was originally from the Chevy kodiak
@@Maliktevin1643 yup
