Alex, Ipsy's Advent calendar is available. It seems pretty promising this year.
Marshmallows are covered in cornstarch to keep them from sticking.
I think they put the Sour Lemon and Cotton Candy doors on the wrong days.
Day 13 was a bit of a cop out to be honest, I would be disappointed if that big window only had 2 little flavourless ghosts behind it.

My heart definitely sunk when I saw those dinky little marshmallows in that big ol door.
Yeah the one door definitely said sour is greater than sweet, which should be sour lemon and a fairy princess costume would be for cotton candy aka fairy floss. They really threw her for a loop on that one. You’d think they would be a little more careful with a $37 box of candy that’s mostly air, but ya know
I looked at this box a week or so ago so I knew there would be those ghost marshmallows in there but I didn't expect they would put 2 tiny ghost peep marshmallows for the last day. I get that gourmet marshmallows are more expensive than normal, but really?

Tupperware is correct but it’s also a brand name. Sort of like saying you need a Kleenex when you want a tissue. Maybe they wrote “tubberware” to avoid using the brand name 😅
Literal examples how brand names became do popular that they became the typical word for things. Like band-aid is *technically* the brand
funny how i made the EXACT same comment with the same example! In Belgian Dutch we also have Bic, which is a brand of ballpoint pen that is also the product category in most Flemish dialects
The word Tupperware is copyrighted. So they can't use the word on packaging without paying for it.
@@mariasabstractart9203 the brand is trademarked and the logo is copyrighted but the word itself is not as far as I can find
HOWEVER using the term Tupperware to describe a plastic or similar looking container is a trademark infringement. Using it in this kinda food calendar is very unlikely to be seen as a trademark infringement.
I'm also not a lawyer and my actual knowledge of law is limited to environmental law during my PBa in Environmental Science
@uribove I have a Masters in Accounting and I'm doing my Doctorate now. So my knowledge of law is in Business law. I actually know the difference (and teach it in Principles of Financial Accounting) between a copyright and a patent. It was easier to say what I did for the people who don't know the difference and just wondered why they didn't use the T word.

Probably a mix or cornstarch with powder sugar. We use those when we package our gummies at work lol
I use powdered sugar for my homemade marshmallows. If you use too much it can ruin the flavor.

Whatever they used there must be a better option. To coat them in something that is so unpleasant they can't be enjoyed is kind of an unwise marketing choice. I actually felt bad for Alexandria. This looked like a very unenjoyable experience. I hope the Co. Warc3hed this video and used the oportunity to ma necessary changes for their Christmas Calenders.
I have never related to a youtuber more than when Alexandria started talking about eating rainbow twizzlers! She understands the desire to chew the cord 😂
I think it might be an adhd/sensory thing, lol. I used to walk around school (high school) while chewing on the long shoelace licorice, you know the purple or green stuff that tasted more like rubbery plastic than actual candy. Regular twizzlers ars still one of my favorite candies to eat, along with sweet tarts and smarties/rockets (I'm Canadian but live near the border so I know them by both names, lol). The intense desire for sugar or sweets and the sensory seeking behaviours are things I'm well aquainted with. I got diagnosed with adhd in my mid 30s.
The powder tubes are called "Pixie Sticks". 🙂.
Also, the > is greater than, so larger number, or in the case of the marshmallow; more sour, than sweet, or might be an arrow indicating it will go from sour, to sweet.

I’m also a little disappointed in that final day too. With that big square in the middle it’s a little ridiculous to only have two little marshmallows. At least give four! Maybe four different flavors? I also was expecting a little more chocolate-based flavors too. Even just like plain old chocolate and calling it chocolate bar flavor! Maybe put some chocolate sprinkles on top? Like they did sprinkle cookie but not chocolate bar? Strange
Candy corn is a honey base, so I could see a butterscotch situation there.
The final day was so underwhelming I laughed out loud 😂 😂 but I loved the video 💕
The zoomed in ghost faces with their surprised yet somehow blank expression perfectly represents just how underwhelming it was. I had to pause the video to laugh.
I was chuckling at “this is also gluten and nut free” and then “these are definitely Reese’s pieces and m&ms” 😂

It's corn starch on the outside. They roll marshmallows in it to keep them from sticking. I mix a little powdered sugar in mine to make it taste better
Hahaha when you opened the malted milkshake marshmallow door I got a bit bummed because malt isn’t gluten free but sure enough on their website it has a little excerpt about why theirs is hahaha

Those ghostie marshamallows would look adorable sitting on top of hot cocoa! Otherwise, I'm not a fan of marshmallows and I don't think even gourmet ones would change that. Except in marshmallow squares, smores and cocoa, lol.

We called them PIXY STICKS . THE STICKS WITH THE POWDERED SUGAR STUFF IN THEM . They sure were good.

Xo marshmallow has some really good gourmet chocolate candy. They make like a turtle candy (really big) It’s like pecans, caramel & marshmallow a whole like big candy. & the marshmallow fluff is really good, (the Halloween flavors aren’t my thing)
But the holiday Christmas advent calendar one kinda looks good a lot. I’m so curious if someone has tried the holiday Christmas advent calendar, cuz they have flavors like eggnog & gingerbread 👀. Low key I wanna buy it but rather hear people’s reviews on it before I buy it

As someone who makes homemade marshmallows, the squish is the selling point to a lot of people, haha. It's a whole different texture to store bought

My favorite lipgloss brand Kikiz Cosmeticz is doing a bamboozled lipgloss set. It will have one thats either pickles or pears, one that is either butter or whipped cream, and one that is either black licorice or berry. Im neurodivergent and suuuuuper sensitive to scents so its not for me, but i just think its a fun thing to do. She always does fun themes, september was Swiftie September and she did a gloss for each era🙌🙌 the bamboozled lipgloss set is cool though, if i had the money id buy the set just to be included in the fun😂😂

My dog, Doozie, also lurves him some baby carrots. He's an old guy with bad teeth, though, so he can't eat them anymore. Please give Tater an extra for Doozie. 🐾❤

So you had me curious to what the outside of a marshmallow was coated with. I had to go and Google it. What I learned is it is called "dusting powder" and it is a mixture of powdered sugar and cornstarch. So more than likely what you were tasting that you didn't like the flavor of was the cornstarch.

The need to hide your carrot snacking from Tater made me laugh. Carrots are a favorite treat for my rescue pup, Toast, and we have to save some pieces for her everytime we have carrots with a meal.
As someone who loves candy that satisfies wanting to chew on an electrical cord, sweet tarts ropes are also a VERY good option!
Fun fact: if you melt candy corn, it gets crunchy and tastes like the filling of a Butterfinger..but that's supposed to be peanut butter flavored so not sure why the marshmallow tasted like butterscotch. 🤔

That is so weird because candy corn is nasty as hell while butter finger is okay could be better vut is durable. Butterscotch is so dang delicious but again the whole thing with candy corn makes zero sense because it's nasty..
Candy corn is usually honey based/flavored so that may be close to butterscotch depending on the type of honey or area it came from

My dogs both love carrots more than anything else! Hey, at least we can be happy that they're obsessed with healthy treats, right? 😂 Also, I'm just curious. I've noticed Tater has a lot of redness, is that due to his medications or does he also have some skin allergies? Poor sweet baby, I'm so glad he had such a great home! ❤️
I mentioned this a few videos back too. My dog had a food allergy and we switched to fresh pet, they sell it at Costco now, and the red is gone. Definitely hope she sees these comments. Poor baby.

I do admit I bought candy corn from a candy shop that made their own candy, and the bottom brownish color part of their candy corn really did taste like butterscotch :) . Love your vids!!
I make marshmallows sometimes & i coat wirh a mixture of powdered sugar & corn starch. Thats probably what you're tasting.
Also, I love candy corn. It's supposed to be vanilla flavored but it's made by cooking sugar & butter & that's how butterscotch is made. I think it tastes like butterscotch myself!
I appreciate and respect your opinion always! I have tried XO marshmallow and I love them. My husband and I each get the Christmas Advent from them every year and love it. I have also gotten their marshmallows on their own and love them also! I definitely think some just have a stronger flavor than others! I feel like it's worth trying them again and actually picking which ones you try. Also putting them on hot chocolate would be good! ❤❤ Love watching you!!

I’ve been buying marshmallows from XO Marshmallow for years and I love them. Their Holiday Advent Calendar is much better. There are more marshmallows and more of the flavors you’d expect. This was their first Halloween Advent Calendar and I know they themed it as popular Halloween candies so that explains some of the fruity flavors. That sour lemon marshmallow was gross though. I think the outside coating is just powdered sugar and it honestly doesn’t bother me. 🤷♀️ But it was fun to watch you unbox/try these! 🧡

I love this calendar. I buy it every year but I usually get the one for Christmas not Halloween. Great to see you try something not makeup or home decor.
The coating on marshmallows is, I think, usually cornstarch, so they don't stick to everything!
I think candy makers use cornstarch to coat and unstick individual pieces of candy.
This calendar would be fun to open all at once in front of a fire for some fun s'mores.

I think the pink one that tasted like pixie sticks (door 2 marshmallow that tasted like cotton candy but with the door description from number three) was possibly supposed to be Glinda the Good Witch from Wizard of Oz. Her costume definitely looks like a pink fairy princess.
And it's definitely Tupperware. lol I think it must be a case of them not realizing that the name is actually Tupperware and not Tubberware. I don't think they were trying to avoid copyright or trademark infringement since they listed "Ziploc" right before it. But I've never ever heard anyone call it Tubberware until today. 🤭
NOT a fan of this advent calendar. $37 for THAT? They probably picked the lightest possible food product they could ship, and still managed to put ridiculously tiny, arguably insulting, portion sizes in. And day 13 was like a final roundhouse finishing move right to the teeth. Putting two itty bitty little portions in that whole door is DEFINITELY insulting. I'M SORRY BUT NO. I wouldn't pay $25 Canadian Dollars for that, let alone $37 American! ($37 USD works out to be about $51 Canadian). 🙅
