    Great shots Peter! I really hope they keep it like that for the Steam Gala in 2 weeks. Make a change from shiny locos.

    So it took me a few minutes to figure this out as I could not believe that a locomotive as iconic as a Black Five would be allowed to run in such a knackered state.
    This is 45337, she was built in 1937 and returned to service in 2010 after spending time in Barry Scrap Yard (I believe she was rescued in the mid 80's). She is on loan from Llangollen Railway, and at the time was distressed to look like she would have in the 60's.
    The reason for the dual numbering? She ran under the guise of 45156 "Ayrshire Yeomanry" ( one of only four or five Black Fives that were named) for some time.
