What Happens When You Cosplay Technoblade in Public

- We filmed this vlog in early June 2022. Since then, we have gotten the tragic news that the creator Technoblade has passed away.
I still wanted to share my experience of cosplaying as his character and interacting with the fantastic community he helped create. Moving forward after this devastating loss, I'm glad to see the community carry on his legacy by continuing to create and share art celebrating him.
I am once again dressing up as the block men out in public against my our judgemeant. I had so much fun making this vlog and meeting all the amazing other cosplayers and fans!
To everyone who recognized me and said, all those interactions meant the world to me.
I cosplayed techno on July 2-3 2022 at Fanexpo denver. Since it was the day after some people really didnt like it, but I know that I helped a lot of people. There were 5 other technos and everyone was really nice and sweet. All the MCYT cosplayers were checking up on each other to see how they were doing. Here are a couple of story’s from the convention.
As I was waiting in line on the first day, I got 3 hugs. I met a ranboo cosplayer and we chatted for a while in line. When i was in line, I passed another Techno and we checked up on each other.
I was walking towards a vendor hall when a group of ranboo, ghostbur, and revivebur were whispering Technoblade. I did a small wave and they did the fan girl scream. We later got a picture.
I was people watching and a girl came up to me and gave me a hug and asked for a selfie, she told me that she was having a terrible week and she loved that I had the confidence to honor him that day. I was so glad I brightened her week.
I was watching the cosplay red carpet, when a Philza came up to me and tapped me on the shoulder and told me that there are a bunch of MCYT cosplayers there. She led me there and later found out that I was a literal child. As in I had the child wristband. Everyone laughed together for about 5 minutes even though we kinda all had a rough week.
All the dsmp cosplayers went up to the red carpet and saluted to technoblade.
I was walking through a hall and 5 people stood up and saluted the whole time I walked through the hall.
I was walking through the vendor hall when two of the vendors left their shop just to come up to me and give me a hug and see if I was OK.
At the MCYT cosplay meet up me and two other technos did the spider-man meme thing, A fundy cosplayer was giving out gapples to all the technos. I got a techno ribbon, two flowers, and a little crown that day.
I was so glad I went to that convention, and I am glad you had a good time.

@@gloomcache if they had to travel to go to the con, and even if they didn’t, it is extremely likely that their cosplay(s) for the con were preplanned and there would have been no way to change it besides not wearing the cosplay. It is not insulting or disrespectful. The cosplayer was in no way trying to mock Techno, or his death, or his family, or anything like that. They just wanted to have fun at a con and be in a cosplay that they made/put together, and probably honor Technoblade as well.

The tommyinnit cosplayer at 0:16 is one of my close friends. He sent me photos of the meetup. I so wish I could have been there when the meetup happened, would have loved to meet you especially because I cosplayed snow chester Tubbo 😂. Regardless, I hope you had fun at Megacon, Jess 💖

It was absolutely amazing meeting you! I was the SapNap cosplayer that recognized you but couldn’t think of your name for the life of me but if I get to meet you again at a future con then I will definitely remember your name I swear 😅 and thank you for your message at the beginning of the video, it’s absolutely amazing seeing people continue to honor the amazing legacy that he left.

It was amazing getting to meet you!! It is still a moment me and the Ghostbur rant about constantly because it was our favorite experience from the con!! I hope we meet again because every moment with you is so much fun! :)))
It was great meeting y’all too! So fun talking to everyone and honestly the fact that people were like “Hey you make cool stuff” just was incredibly cool.
When the Roxy (I think that how the character is called?) Cosplayer recognised the Scar cosplay I was so happy, then when the Fwhip cosplayer just passed by I literally squeaked. I may be a DSMP fan, but those are my people o7
The character is called Roxanne Wolf but Roxy is her nickname so you're correct (I'm in the FNaF fandom lol)

I just missed you at the DSMP meetup! My friends and I were Tubbo, Ranboo, and Micheal, and I had a nuke backpack. It would have been so cool to meet you! Your cosplay was wonderful and I loved to see all of the friends I made there be "featured" in your video!
Watching this whole thing gave off TONS of positive vibe, I got stuck smiling for majority of it and it's hilarious

I LOVE that the other person dressed up as Scar, I see a lot of dsmp cosplay and not enough hermitcraft/literally any other smp, and I love both of your cosplays!!!! And even though this was filmed before the news of his death, this is, as others have said, a fantastic tribute to Techno. It just goes to show that technoblade truly never dies.

Even though I find the MCYT community a little chaotic at some points with the dream Stan's and all, this video is really wholesome. Rest easy, Techno.

I went to a convention the weekend of his death (the Sunday) as Technoblade and was hanging out with my friend who was also in Techno cosplay. Theirs was significantly more detailed than mine but you could still tell who I was by the way I was acting and the costume itself. People kept coming up to my friend and asking them for hugs and crying when they saw them, and I just sorta sat there like "am I invisible...? Or am I truly dead..."
I mean, sure, I chose to use Viking War Paint as my makeup but still, I had the crown, the piglin mask, the pink braid, the (hand made) red cape, etc but I just sorta went unnoticed

There is truly so much joy in this video, it sucks that recent events happened but the excitement and happiness from everyone in this vlog makes me believe Technoblade never truly dies

Technoblade will never be forgotten
I cosplayed as him the day his father posted the video. I had just taken off the wig when one of my friends said that Techno had passed away and then went to watch the video. I cried the whole night and one of the thoughts that went through my head was that I was the last time some people saw Technoblade alive. Some students had came up to me asking for photos and to just talk to me while I was in cosplay and then I went to karaoke night and performed “Bury a Friend” so when I got the news the pure irony hit me like a truck
you inspired me by a simple cosplay you dont have to be skinny just to fit the role of the charecter. just have fun with it and make sure your happy.

I've been in another deep state of depression lately cause of the five stages of grief aka denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance and I'm close to the end but I'm still stuck in depression even for those who died years ago because I can't accept they're gone and I'm worried it'll be the same case for this but I know Techno wouldn't want me to stay depressed because of him so I'll try my best to accept the fact that my king is gone and this video helped a little so, thank you. (Your cosplay was great btw)

ngl, getting ready for my second con, and was worried about being too "weird" dressing up as one of these characters, but seeing this video really changed my mind. As a closet nerd, it's really nice seeing other people just doing stuff they love.
I love to see more people who cosplay Technoblade... It's that love and affection they have for him... He would have loved to see how his fans pay tribute and honor to him and his work

Since Techno is my favourite creator of all time and Scar is my favourite one right now, I am all for this choosing to dress up as those two and be together!

When my friend and I were at a con, we scouted out Technoblade cosplays and asked them for pictures, it was great.
I wanted to go so badly, but my dad cancelled me and my friend's flight, and I had actually already gotten tickets, which sucked

I cosplayed as techno and I felt like a celebrity so many people asked for pictures I couldn’t get a break from it
Me and my friends went to comiccon 2 days ago and we decided if we found a Techno we would ask them for a hug (we ended being too shy lol) but we saw a bunch and took lots of pictures :)

Oh man you should hear this, but I actually met a techno cosplayer at ConQuest (Philippines) and as the comedian I am approached him and said “why are you here you’re supposed to be fighting god” and the cosplayer responded “I got bored so I’m gonna start hunting for orphans now” and we took pictures LMAOOO
When our wonderful Scar cosplayer said you got cat called i was like “What!?!!” and then you told the story and i laughed so hard.

My sisters and I recently cosplayed at a con as MCYT too! I was Sapnap, and the others were Dream, Fundy, and the younger one was a Dream Blob! We had a lot of fun, saw other cosplayers, and took pictures! I do wish we stayed together as a group more 😅
Because of the bunches of negativity I’ve seen, I was very scared about harassment, especially with my sister cosplaying as Dream (half of the reason I went as Sapnap), but nothing bad happened thank The Lord. It was such a fun experience, and seeing others do the same makes me happy. Maybe it’ll even give me more courage ^_^;

Seeing positive stuff like this helps me to forget all of the pointless negativity and just embrace the fun 😁 Loved all of the cosplays, the pace of the happening, the narration, Little Scar, and seeing a bunch of fans truly bond with each other. I cosplayed Technoblade for AX which started the day after I got the news and I was surprised by how many people hugged me, screamed "Technoblade never dies", and one even asked if I was ok and if I needed a hug. I like to think that I brought at least a few people some comfort but realistically they were the ones who brought me the most comfort I could ever ask for :)
