Build looks great as usual. I think an interesting setting for a build would be a redwood forest. For a monster I think you should go with a northern spotted owl. I think this would be a good contender for a avian monster.
I am *loving* this universe and your crafting skills are unmatched IMO - my personal suggestion is maybe a ‘full-size’ steamboat (ie, in scale with the main dioramas) with the crew fighting off a boarding action from some giant crabs or similar? Maybe put it on a stand if that would be too much resin? :))
Y'know what steampunk scenes usually have? Airships. Maybe the crabs are breaking out of crates while the ship is trying to land on a much thinner resin river with paint to add fake depth. Big ships landing in water always looks cool
Could not possibly agree more. Like it was scooped straight out of the bayou. Absolute perfection. The only thing missing is a little more scenery, some river bottom, muddy banks with a dead tree or two, logs on the bottom or even better an old ship wreck.
Okay, hear me out. Realistic Coyote on an Arizona desert cliffside setting a trap for a Realistic Roadrunner. Other than that, awesome stuff as always!
And it was G O O D! And substantial kudos for the Jeremy Wade shout-out. Had assumed he was far too “eccentric British TV” for an international audience. But apparently not ... cool!
Damn Caleb, I thought you were a hobbyist just like us until you casually pulled out your de-pressurization chamber apparatus like it was nothing. Wasn't expecting this one today! Comedy gold all around!
Well done, as always! Sure, you COULD have 3D Printed the giant catfish, (which was nicely sculpted.) But sometimes, the 'old ways' really ARE the best! Your project videos always inspire me to be a better model builder. But this time, it also made me hungry . . . . I can just imagine a person on the boat saying, "Not only are we going to need a bigger boat. We're also going to need a bigger box of catfish breading mix!"
Well done, my dear! Please do name her Lulu, after the giant catfish who was a pet at the local pet store. My cousin owned her for a while, and I loved to say goodnight to her and sleep near her when I was there. She had to go back to the store when she got too big, but we visited her regularly. Eventually, however, the pet shop owner’s Great Danes broke into the shop and wrought havoc. Lulu was never found, I like to think when the dogs smashed her tank she gave them what for, got to the nearby river, and there she is immortalized!
Obsoletely love this 'Weird West' setting of yours. Makes me reminisce about Edition one of WWX (Wild West Exodus tabletop game). Keep up the amazing videos.
I work on a tugboat on the upper Mississippi River and trust me that catfish isn’t far off 😂 We once thought there was a dead buck floating in the water but once we grabbed the binoculars realized it was a 100+ pound catfish that probably got caught up in a line boats wheels because the water was pretty low.
Do your skills know no bounds. You just casually sculpted an amazing sculpture of a catfish. These videos are always so impressive and cool. Great job.
So as a person that is pretty scared of water and big water things in general this is terrifying to imagine BUT it's still really cool regardless. The color of the "water" is perfect for a nice muddy river. Good work!
I just went back and watched your alligator video, I had no idea you did any digital sculpting! And very well done to boot! That said, the sculpey catfish turned out amazing so you're super skilled in both mediums!
There a long tradition of tales of man-eating catfish in the Mississippi, so you're not far off. Great job, as usual, I really enjoy the Wild Imaginary West story you're telling with your dioramas.
Love the build. I think a cool idea for a build could be an alphine cliffside with a large direwolf destroying a mech-wagon of some size. It would finally let the monsters show their full potential by destroying something.
I jumped into the video halfway by accident, and That catfish looked so real I said “why TF did he use an actual dead catfish?!” Took me a minute. Great job!!
we *NEED* this as a game, i mean imagine listining to that music as you walk into the dock, boarding this massive work of mechanical wonder. steam and smoke rising to the sky, clouding the heavens above, as you leave a thick metal and wooden *_[CHUNK]_* as the engine whistles and rumbles to life, setting your things down in your room, slingine on a backpack over a thick hide and leather jacket as you descend into the darkness of night, smoke rises, and so does the tension. your mind flicking back to your hard wooden and metal pack, as you flick it on it shoots reinforced yellow or orange bulb out the top, eight to twelve metal bars encasing it as it flickers to a harsh but warm glow. your calmed and reassured from the light sound and vibrating hum of a motor on your back, yet the droning wind digging deeper in your mind. the "backbox" (better name pending) powering your tools, your light and more importantly, your ship as a whole. should it go out in the night however, if your not where you should be quite frankly, your charred waffle-beard toast. id love a game like this where you hafto repair shit on a boat while trying not to die occasionally, BUT NOT FULL HORROR GAME, the main focus is repairs and using various gimmicks to enhance your performance or survive. i would *LOVE* something like guns of icarus and boid train but on a (fucking) BOAT, IN ANCIENT REALITY QUESTIONING INDUCING MONSTERS TRYING TO (FUCKING) *KILL YOU*. god doesnt that sound great? maybe things are causing small to moderate problems on your shittily repaired boat from some shady phoenix rust dealer (likely involved with powering equipment or constructing it) and now *YOU* have to fix it as it breaks, courtesy of you or your bosses mistake. GOD i want something like guns of icarus online repairing mechanics with pseudo horror elements like a low looming dread, but tension released every time you entire one of the nicer rooms, like your quarters for example. but if that big fucker fish attacks you need to get there IMMEDIATELY to fix whatever _it_ broke, in say 1-2 minutes, maybe four at the leanest of times. very rarely having to fix something in the BOTTOM of the boat thats vital for survival or progress. sound good anyone?
I love this so much. We don't have gators here, so this diorama brings back fond memories of the giant catfish that supposedly lived at the bottom of the lake and swallowed divers whole. A simpler time to be alive.
Absolutely stunning! Love this series ❤️ Would you be able to do a diorama with either a bayou or the everglades as a setting? I think they would be excellent set pieces to depict ambush
The bull looks great, and I would love to see a diorama of the catfish and alligator having a battle, as I imagine two titan creatures like that wouldn’t get along
THIS IS SO COOL its a shame the water was so opaque though, you spent all that time scultping and painting such a beautiful monster catfish and in the end you could barely see it
I too was wondering what song/music that is, dude! Im glad someone else also ponder about ut... It was totally fitting! I do belive it some kind of country/bluegrass stuff. But I wish I knew what song that was. Although, I found something simular. Here you go, bub; th-cam.com/video/zkr92Ae-r0I/w-d-xo.html
A tip I've picked up from working with clear is that after sanding, instead of using varnish you can use headlight polishing compound to get rid of the last vestiges of unevenness from the surface. It looks better than varnish and only takes a little bit of time with a microfiber rag.
Брат,я восхищаюсь мастерством твоих работ,проработкой всех деталей и буйной авторской фантазией!Многие твои идеи я применю в своих работах ... Привет тебе от моделистов России!
This is unbelievable. I literally watched this before I went to bed and dreamed about it lol. The murky water, the fact that on some angles you may only be able to see a whisker and knowing the people on the ship are oblivious with the exception of the fin... Then the overhead angle where you can see the monster and the ship steaming towards its bulky head on a possible collision course.. or is it just snaking back and forth following underneath the surface? Definitely a legendary catfish which size locals have thought to have been exaggerating for generations but obviously has not been exaggerated at all.. So good, thanks for sharing 👍
while i was watching this, my husband glanced over and gave me a funny look. I ask him what its for and he goes "is that a real fish?" so i would say thats a pretty good compliment on your sculpting ability there Boylei xD
Build looks great as usual. I think an interesting setting for a build would be a redwood forest. For a monster I think you should go with a northern spotted owl. I think this would be a good contender for a avian monster.
Please make thissss!!!! this is the best suggestion-idea I've seen
Maybe a cool winged owlbear.
I strongly suggest a gigantic crow at a scale where it's the size of a 6' tall person.
or a snoroan owl, they live in the ground, could be some cool ideas with that
This is such a brilliant idea! Love this
I am *loving* this universe and your crafting skills are unmatched IMO - my personal suggestion is maybe a ‘full-size’ steamboat (ie, in scale with the main dioramas) with the crew fighting off a boarding action from some giant crabs or similar? That would be amazing!

Sounds like something straight out of Return of the Obra Dinn, would be epic for sure!
Love Death & Robots episode?!
Really nailed the murky water. I would love to see some landscape elements in these like fallen logs, branches, plants, etc. A+
Maybe a flooded town?
Exactly what I was thinking
Could not possibly agree more. Like it was scooped straight out of the bayou. Absolute perfection. The only thing missing is a little more scenery, some river bottom, muddy banks with a dead tree or two, logs on the bottom or even better an old ship wreck.
Okay, hear me out. Realistic Coyote on an Arizona desert cliffside setting a trap for a Realistic Roadrunner.
Other than that, awesome stuff as always!
The Coyote is a lawman and the Roadrunner keeps robbing travelers around canyon towns
Why stop at realisitc? Could be a type of Strider mech that people call a Roadrunner Vs a giant monsterous coyote.
@@RiderManX0, yes yes. I just want to see the Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote integrated into the Wild Imaginary West!!!
Don't forget Bugs Bunny was an antagonist against the Coyote for a bit...maybe Bugs driving the RRMech?
@@RiderManX0 the one in that Green Day music video
I LOVE that you sculpted the catfish...it's perfect!! And I'd like to see a noodler go after that monster!! Another great build Boylei!!
I agree
Paul Bunyan would noodle this fish
The light streaming through that cloudy resin is incredible looking.
Finaly the boats got their redemtion arc! Amazing as ever. Love the hand sculpting, hope to see more of it!
I watch every video with my 3 boys when they come out. It's become a fun weekly tradition. Thanks for what you do!
And it was G O O D! And substantial kudos for the Jeremy Wade shout-out. Had assumed he was far too “eccentric British TV” for an international audience. But apparently not ... cool!
Aw man, now I want a third piece with a crawfish monster... Love seeing this imaginary west series expand, always great build after great build!
Or Maybe a giant gar
Boylei Hobby Time: single-handedly keeping the steamboat model company in business.
I'm addicted to the way the water rippling refracts the light shining down from above
This build is awesome! The smoke really brings it all together. I can’t believe the wild imaginary west has been around for about a year already.
Damn Caleb, I thought you were a hobbyist just like us until you casually pulled out your de-pressurization chamber apparatus like it was nothing. Wasn't expecting this one today! Comedy gold all around!
Boy, growing up in Louisiana, I have to say that your video title of not swimming in the Mississippi is spot on.
My grandpa was an avid fisherman, but he hated catfish. called then "devil fish". This diorama would be his worst nightmare 😅
We're also going to need a bigger box of catfish breading mix!"
i'll never tire of watching your vids
you are the most talented person i have ever seen bravo!
Well done, my dear! Please do name her Lulu, after the giant catfish who was a pet at the local pet store. Why not Big Mona in reference to "Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island"?
We need a diorama of Lulu fighting the Great Dane in a smashed up pet shop
Not everything is about you my bad ma’am
Obsoletely love this 'Weird West' setting of yours. Makes me reminisce about Edition one of WWX (Wild West Exodus tabletop game). Keep up the amazing videos.
This is how Boylei catfishes his audience. Well done dude!
Oh man that side view where you can see the godrays in the water, just magnificent
A catfish was the perfect choice for that murky water. I'm also glad you remembered to credit those wormy dealies!
This guy has quickly become one of my favorite TH-camrs
I work on a tugboat on the upper Mississippi River and trust me that catfish isn’t far off 😂
We once thought there was a dead buck floating in the water but once we grabbed the binoculars realized it was a 100+ pound catfish that probably got caught up in a line boats wheels because the water was pretty low.
My 9yr old son loved your "Among Us" build. Thank you for sharing your immense talent with us!!
Do your skills know no bounds. You just casually sculpted an amazing sculpture of a catfish. These videos are always so impressive and cool. Great job.
Always awesome! Every video I learn something new! Everyday’s a school day! 🐋🐈⬛🐟
The 'Wild Imaginary West' needs to be brought to the screen. How awesome would a series be? 🤘
So long as it's done with love and true passion, then I'd LOVE to see it as a series!
Love the combat builds but these sort of "slice of life" ones really add that lived-in feel to the world, really great work again
Love the Imaginary Wild West, and your delivery is so chill with just a hint of funny. I could only wish the videos were twice as long!
A "simple" build overall from your normal, but fantastic as always. Loving this alternative Western Universe
Yes another Epoxy Resin diorama.
The thing I love about these videos is just how truly immersive and PERFECT they are, amazed me once again
So as a person that is pretty scared of water and big water things in general this is terrifying to imagine BUT it's still really cool regardless. The color of the "water" is perfect for a nice muddy river. Good work!
This is a catfish even Jeremy Wade wouldn't go after. Well done as always!
This is fabulous! Your style of modelling has really inspired me and i love your videos. 👍👍
Very cool project mate. 👍 thanks for sharing
i love watching these, would love to see you do a creation where some poor people are stuck between 2 giant monster's fighting.
I like the murkiness of the water. Unsure if it was intended, but it definitely works for the theme.
it's funny, the alligator diorama was the first video I watched from this channel
Yesssssssssss. Love the giant water creature builds. By far my favorite.
An airship fighting something like a coyote like monster would be epic.
As someone from Mississippi, the water coloration is PERFECT.
Add some E-guitar and this is my kinda tune!
Oh btw: if you wanna safe some time, just clearcoat the matt resin. Makes it crystalclear.
The things you make are awsome
I like the paint job on the tugboat. The red and black goes well with the antique, brown weathering.
I love your wild imaginary west series. Makes me want to delve more into that world
Both builds were amazing, but going from the steam boat to this one back to back shows how much you’ve grown!! Beautiful work
Nothing makes me happier than a Boylei Hobby time... but Boylei Hobby time - with resin sure does come close!
Great job!!
Your dioramas including boats have got to be my favorite
Nice little diorama! That murky water looks awesome!
A fish sculpting a fish, wonderful 👌
You really NAILED the color and clarity of the water. Really impressive stuff here.
Always a pleasure to see more of the Wild Imaginary West.
I want this wild imaginary west to become a thing. You need to make a book of these models with some flavor text! I'd buy it :D
I do like the way the light filters through the water 👌
I will never see Mississippi River the same way again! Inspired and cracking job!!
That water opacity is spot on!
The paint job on the tugboat was pristine 👌
Đẹp quá.tôi thích moi hình này của bạn

Fond memories?? OMG that sounds scary lol
I think an Giant Mountain Lion crawling down a Cliff on to a Gold digger could be a nice piece too. Great work
Absolutely stunning! Love this series ❤️
Would you be able to do a diorama with either a bayou or the everglades as a setting? I think they would be excellent set pieces to depict ambush
The catfish and boat came out great. Happy Easter bud
Looks absolutely amazing you actually insured me to start making dioramas keep it up
The bull looks great, and I would love to see a diorama of the catfish and alligator having a battle, as I imagine two titan creatures like that wouldn’t get along
THIS IS SO COOL its a shame the water was so opaque though, you spent all that time scultping and painting such a beautiful monster catfish and in the end you could barely see it
I get what ya mean, but it wouldn't look right to be able to see the catfish fully. They thrive in murky water.
What music was in the background at the end? Totally fitting for the build! Thanks for the great content as usual keep it up!
I too was wondering what song/music that is, dude! Im glad someone else also ponder about ut... It was totally fitting! I do belive it some kind of country/bluegrass stuff. I remember when the first one came out. I’m so happy
Once again an epic build, love the water with the sea creature. I call it great!
A very short and sweet video with amazing results the bayou is one of my favorite terrains so seeing swamp builds is always welcome
you remind me of North of the Border, great channel love the videos keep it up
Брат,я восхищаюсь мастерством твоих работ,проработкой всех деталей и буйной авторской фантазией!Многие твои идеи я применю в своих работах ...
Привет тебе от моделистов России!
Dude you're really good at this! Very calming!
Incredible work, I'm immediately reminded of Resident Evil 4's lake scene very atmospheric
Love it I can just picture myself on that boat
It turns out that Boylei has been catfishing us all along!
What a wonderfully atmospheric diorama.
Your model work really has become my favorite.
That steam boat was the first video I watched so this would be the anniversary of watching your amazing videos
The water is a wonderful shade of brown. Just like the real thing.
Better and better! Brave to use water resin, thanks for sharing
I love the lore for this Wild West World you have
these never cease to make my jaw drop. never stop doing what you love mate.
Wonderful, wonderful. Resin builds are some of my favorites
An unexpected sequel, but a welcome one.
This is unbelievable. I literally watched this before I went to bed and dreamed about it lol. So good, thanks for sharing 👍
love the commentary, i've seen a lot of craft channels but yours is my favorite, bring more craft plz
loving these builds. cant wait to see the next one that goes into the wild west
Wow! That water is murky and looks just like the Mississippi!
I love to watch your videos and simply relax. Thank you for your hard work
Love this world you've created
while i was watching this, my husband glanced over and gave me a funny look. I ask him what its for and he goes "is that a real fish?" so i would say thats a pretty good compliment on your sculpting ability there Boylei xD
