Yes when HBK was in the WWE, everyone else had to stop performing the superkick when HBK came back because it was HBK's finisher and it was supposed to be a match ender. As soon as HBK was gone everyone started performing the superkick and is now just any old move.

Sheamus is a great worker in my opinion. Just misused as hell. Like his thing with Cesaro tho. Not really. It's rare but people have kicked out of it, Jerry Lynn is one example. In ECW it wasn't even used as his main finisher, as RVD would usually end matches with the Split Legged Moonsault rather than the FSFS.

He rarely ended matches with Split Legend Moonsault in ECW. WCW yeah but ECW it was the 5 Star, the Van Daminator or the Van Terminator (which he never used in WWE cos Shane McMahon stole it).

Shatter Machine is an awesome double team finish. I also think the Authors of Pain's finish (the final chapter I think it is called) could eventually rank pretty high in terms of devestation. Combination springboard running lariat and DDT by two very powerful guys. As for well-timed athleticism, DIY's finisher is excellent... but I think they may have to use it as more of a setup to another finisher whenever they reach the main roster.
Not as cool as the Doomsday Device though. That was the ultimate double team move.

Ahsain Curb stomp is still dangerous, dean ambrose took one on a steel chair but he would obviously be fine. The mate had been thrown threw multiple tables at once, through massive amounts glass and took a chainsaw to the head. Daniel Bryan took one, and that ultimately ended his career due to concussions. The punt, thats fucking fine. A childs nimble legs would never go fast enough for it to actually be dangerous.

Several times over the last five or so years, Big Show had to take time off to lose fifty-to-a-hundred pounds because he's freaking huge. Part of his cardio routine was boxing, or his cardio routine WAS a boxer's cardio routine, as well as legit learning amateur boxing (albeit probably from a professional trainer). So Big Show can legit box.
He knocked a man out cold in a bar fight and broke his jaw, but that guy was a big person himself at over 6'7 and 300lbs. I couldn't imagine someone of average size getting a good slug from Big Show.

The only time he had to hit a finisher and let the opponent kick out (vs Randy Orton in his returning match) he "loaned" his brother's Cross Rhodes to protect his own.
@Shirkeadores Definitely, but Shattered Dreams is illegal so it's not a proper finisher. He had to perform it behind the referee's back, or go for the thigh instead of the testicles in order to avoid DQ.

It's protected from appearing weak/beatable. That use of the term also extends to some wrestlers - Goldberg in wcw and Taker's streak at Mania were both very well protected.
If a wrestler legitimately hurts other wrestlers with their finisher, neither will be protected for very long. That's why moves like the Tombstone/Piledriver are never preformed by wrestlers in this age - it doesn't matter if you can actually knock an opponent out - the company that wrote the outcome probably wants to use that wreslter again.

Once a comment is made, it's there until the person who made it deletes it, and people can stumble across it years later. I think my record for my oldest comment receiving a reply or like is around 3 years.
