  • Hello folks! Here’s my "Grimdark, Desert Pink Mecha Finish" for you, applied to the Ma.K Nixe suit. The concept behind this finish is a wind- and sand-blasted, sun-beaten power armor suit operating on the outskirts of Neu Canberra in the year 2884 during late summer. In this video, I walk you through the steps and techniques I used. Hope you enjoy it!

Yo link. Sorry for you click through rating but, you got me so inspired I just got up and threw a black primer on the “armored walnut” (great kit). I went back and finished the video. Thank you for inspiring so many!!!

Great video, full of awesome info. Really like how the pink looks and I'll definitely be keeping and eye out for those sticky back transfers.

Would you please consider doing a build and paint tutorial on some of the Ma.K resin garage kits? I couldn’t find any in your video list. I’m putting together my first 1/35 Krote and there’s unique challenges from the plastic kits I’m used to.

Channel related: "Paint on Plastic" is mentioned in a Pixar Studios' Lightyear trailer breakdown, comparing lighting of human Buzz's skin vs. his toy equivalent. First time I'd heard the term in the wild! th-cam.com/video/_yD2NO4JAc4/w-d-xo.html

Ja Gut -(translation - yes good). Starting to really dig the shiny finishes on these Ma.k guys. I feel your pain with dry acrylic paint - that's Vallejo - they always seems to dry faster on the brush tip and makes it harder to work with (even worse with an airbrush) - try a little paint retarder - should help. Also watch out for AK / Mig washes in the model joints - had a few that literally "melted" apart and left the model legless - Bandai seems to use a softer plastic? that doesn't seem as rigorous as say Tamiya. Look forward to your next one. Great Stuff.

“Ja Gut”, lesson learned and many thanks. Yes, I do not use these same processes nor products on Bandai - the plastic is not the same. In fact, my next video will feature Bandai. Thank you again for your positive comment 🙏🙇🏻‍♂️

What do you use for gap filling when building? I'm trying to build a Nitto Prowler but having issues with big gaps.

I love you videos. I tend not to enjoy tons of commentary, as I am more of a visual and tactile learner, but your commentary is perfect because overlap your commentary while you work vice speaking into the camera for half the video. Plus, you have amazing skills and experience, but present everything with humor and humility. Great instruction.

Hey Linc, great video yet again!
Regarding spraying a lacquer glaze: do you find any issues with plastic shrinkage or becoming brittle as a result?
Working with gunpla I’ve had issues with lacquers creating weak articulation points and even if I mask off the pegs and so forth, there seems to be a change in the masking margins that had led to breakage (dumbass abs misuse not withstanding).
Any thoughts you could share would be most appreciated!
    Keep up the fantastic work!

Excellent job, Linc. Very very accurate and a really good taste in the weathering. Exactly "al dente" in terms of damage. One of your best jobs lately! Congrats!

I found (by accident) that magic eraser adds a really nice "flat" look without actually damaging the paint in a noticeable way.
