I have a work computer that was shipped without the WiFi card. After speaking to dell and purchasing what they told me to buy, I attempted to self install but my computer says no internet connection. Hi we are aware that there's another version of proprietary antennas available, which is very uncommon, so it's difficult to advise without seeing what you have. But if it was Dell made and it has pronges, then I beleive you have to pay for the black antennas separately. We sell them as well at much cheaper price. Now without looking at your screen it's difficult to tell, no Internet can happen for two reasons: 1) You need to install the drivers as card is not read by the system. 2) You need those antennas for the system to actually capture the WIFi network and show you what WiFi networks are available.. Regardless of what's going on, to get full network speed or coverage you need the external antennas..
I just bought the Wifi/blutooth kit from an US seller since I'm in the US but can't seem to make it work. Mine is the 7050 model and neither the internal antenna nor the external one fit inside/through the hole. Looks like I did insert the wifi card correctly since I hear the click but I don't see any wifi signals. I also switched places with the antennas on the wifi card, just like you suggested. Hello yes you can, you have to change the M.2 card to a dual band one...Some cards are whitewashed by Dell..Do even though cards are functioning, they won't work

Go for it, I done that to my old ASUS which came with a single band. It was worth it. Don't worry about two cuts, 3165NGW 8260NGW, 8265NGW, 7265NGW all of them are compatible with both. Good luck

I don't have the micro, I have the 7070 MT and there is zero mention of where you run the cable to. the lines aren't long enough to reach the back of the tower and there is no punch/cutout for a frontal antenna. nor is there a mention of where the internal antenna goes. I see you popping /clipping your internal one in a prefab spot. I don't see anything of the like in the cards vicinity any help even a link would be fantastic.

Does the bluetooth keep unpairing your devices after a reboot? I am currently using a cheap bluetooth dongle and every time I reboot my pc I have to repair the logitech k380 as if its the first time I am pairing them. Im wondering if this will solve that issue.

If you are talking about SFF and Tower size, I haven't come across any WiFi card that goes on big PCIe, one person manged to get 1gbps in a 3070 using our WiFi 6 kit so I don't think anyone needs anything better than that unless you are working for NASA 😂

I find it much easier to buy the USB WiFi dongle and just plug it into one of the ports in the rear. They come with their own antenna, there is no internal wiring and Windows finds the drivers immediately. . MUCH MUCH easier.
I can't imagine the secondary internal antenna even gets any signal considering the Optiplex case is metal and will act as a shield for any RF signals!!! Has Dell published any signal strength data for the internal antenna vs the external antenna?!!

The rest of the case is still metal as well as all the electronic circuit boards and components within the case. So unless the user specifically points the plastic case side towards the WiFi source, that plastic case side probably won't make much of a difference. I don't even know why Dell even bothers with such a design and I can't imagine it even works at all with the internal antenna. I have a Lenovo Thinkcentre unit with the same case size and it utilizes an external antenna and works perfectly with no issues. I don't believe Lenovo has any backup internal antenna.
@LWRC You do have a point , I actually connected the internal one as stand alone it was still streaming 4k just fine from router placed feels away in opposite direction. The metal part actually protrudes compared to the casing that may be the reason signal uninterrupted. HP, Lenovo and Dell all have auxiliary antennas. Funny enough in the morning up to date models 3080 onwards thar protrusion is even higher. They all tend to use external antenna as main internal as auxiliary.

You need A+E key which will be expensive May be even rare at this point.

Hi, as far as I am aware, the fastest processor you can put in is i7 7700.
And you can only use SATA SSD as these do not have M.2 slot I believe..

Ha ha of course, although inbuilt WiFi and Bluetooth are faster and usually you will need one dongles for each, wasting two USB ports.
