I really want to get tested for OCD I’m from the UK and I have a lot of symptoms and I even have symptoms of misophonia which I’ve heard is common within OCD. I get horrible anxiety and panic attacks from so called OCD I may have and I find it hard to get through a day with having to do these compulsions. I can get distracted easily but the computation I have to complete is still in my head and I’m telling myself over and over to complete it and I will do things over and over until it feels right. My mum thinks I’m silly for saying all these things I have but it frustrates me and stresses me out because all I want is help and for someone to not understand but empathise with me as I see nobody can understand unless you have it or had it.

LITTERLY SAME omg cus I’m almost sure I’ve got ocd and misophonia. One of my most annoying misophonia noises is yelling, especially when my family yells, not in a bad way but like if my dad is yelling my dogs name to come back ughhh it’s so annoying but anyway same and I am scared to tell my parents cus I think they will say I’m just watching too much yt

Yes the main sign that tells me you have it is doing something until it feels right. I have to wash my hands over and over until they feel clean.

The way I like to describe ocd for me is Ocd is where you obssesively obsess about the things you think about and can take a normal thought and make it so profound.

I feel like i have ocd it’s starting to get in the way of my sleep because I will stay up late so I don’t get intrusive thoughts. I feel like I am trapped and it’s starting to get in the way of how I function. I you feel like you have anything that is important that you need to talk to your family about please do say this to yourself if you feel like you can’t “will it help me”. Have and amazing day and remember you are kind and beautiful and smart❤

I can't get the help that I really need because it's too expensive and my insurance won't pay for it. It's so sad to be close to the help that I need but I can't even get it.😭

I can't get to sleep at night because I have to blink and swallow 4 to the power of 4 to the power of 4 to the power of 4...4 times, and again and again because every time I reach the end of a power it's still not right. I have been thinking that I might have OCD for a while now. I have other symptoms as well but this one effects my life the most and is my reason for seeking a diagnosis. Do you think that I should talk to a doctor?

What happens if when you go to bed wait 5min with the counting. The next day wait 10min. Next... Wait 24h. You don't need to count anything. You maybe do it not to feel antiexy but so with anxiety. It goes away without doing anything

On my father's maternal side, OCD was implicated in 2 suicides and 3 other mental hospitalizations. My gram was obsessed with cleaning. You could drink from her toilet. She controlled everything and everyone in the family. I have obsessions but without the outward compulsions (Pure 0). Constant mental rumination and the inability to stop working has ruined my life.

I would go to therapy, but my parents wouldn’t let me. They don’t help either, I also suffer from occasional panic attacks, and they tell me to “stop doing that”. When I collect things they get mad and throw it all away, they don’t know how much those items mean to me or how cool they look. I bite my nails and skin, and I squeeze my skin or I am always restless, and they just tell me to stop and yell at me if I don’t. OCD interferes with my life so much, it’s just draining. It also causes depression. I am so scared that it may be other anxiety disorders too. Every day I just want to cry because of how stressed out I am over basically nothing. I want to scream and yell and hurt everyone, I’m scared I will one day. I dont know what to do, but I know I need help. Do you know anything I could do?? Please, I need it.

I believe that I may have OCD. I am currently thirteen, and I have been showing symptoms since I was in 3rd grade. They have only gotten worse. I find myself unable to get diagnosed because of my parents, who don’t believe in mental health.

Alr so what does it mean when u say things in ur mind repeatedly but u also have to make a noise when u think it either 4,7, or 8 times?
Nvm it’s just a compulsion and it turns out I have a common compulsion that I never knew other people had which was checking on doors and windows constantly

no thats just being a human lmaoo if your lack of sleep is incredibly serious/severe it could be a number of things (insomnia etc.) but in general that on its own is normal and probably not ocd

For me, I can’t listen to music and drink anything because if I swallow on the beat of the song, I’ll have to do it again until it feels right. If my hair or something were to touch my arm, I’ll have to do the same with my left arm. And when I’m typing something in my phone/computer I can’t look at the curser thing because I always count it (and it always has to be an even number. Also whenever I walk into a room it’s always my right foot first. Are these symptoms? Or am I just weird?

oh my gosh! I found someone with similar things as me. im 99% sure i have ocd im really trying to convince my parents to take me to go get diagnosed but its hard when they dont rlly understand what it is, same with my siblings/relatives etc..
I always walk into a room or down the stairs or on the top, my first step is always right foot (if I forget and do it wrong I gotta walk back hop up and land properly and continue walking so I can do it w/ the right foot this time around) and when im typing I always count it too! I always want it to be a certain amount of numbers and I always add extra words that don't even make sense but I have to (my numbers right now are 5 and 8, my old ones were 14, 4, 3, 2, 6, 9, 10, 12, 18, 22 etc.. (its mostly always a even number unless its something where its 2 and 1 or 2 and 3 etc.. yes! if my hair or anything touches one arm or one side of my body I have to touch it with the other side its so fricking annoying and its happening right now as I type this out im doing it right now. I think we share a lot of symptoms!! and repetive actions!! hopefully I dont pick up the gulping one (swallowing) but that sounds tough I have so many more and some are similar to ur swallowing/gulping one. im 14 year old female how about you? and also have you told you parents about it yet or no? if so how did they react (may I ask, you dont have to answer its okay) did u get any help for it whatsoever?

When I'm really sleepy almost every night I'm afraid of something invisible which I've no idea I hallucinate people coming to my room right before sleeping but I can't sleep as I get extremely scared after the scenario but when I change room or think that if I touch the blanket I'm safe or touching the blanket will protect me I can sleep this happens almost every night and It's really scary

    • @fry8887
      @fry8887 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

This used to happened to me when I was maybe 9. This whole thing happened to me where as soon as I turned the light off, I only had 10 seconds to get to the bed and get under the blanket. Then I had to keep my head under the blanket for 10 seconds atleast, and then I could come out. Sometimes I imagined a few angel looking things coming down and protecting my bed after the act but yeah. I don't think I've fully gotten over it and it sometimes still happens. I'm 17 now. Also another way I found to protect myself from the "demon" I guess is my cat. Even just singing a little song to myself when I was trying to sleep about my cat would help. Like the cat would defend me against the demon. idk. I'm sure there's a way to fix it, we just have to find it.
