I actually thought Prometheus was alright. Although some folks hate it but for me I liked how the engineers are mysterious & left me wanting to know more about them & their motives
It had some great ideas but wrapped up in a very bad script.
Good movie but the sequel was total garbage and I could never recommend it.
they would of revealed more but since engineers were new they were making a huge leap that could of possibly not marketed

Where the Engineers are playing with the Universe like Gods, creating and destroying life at a whim, when the Predators and others form an alliance to defeat them. The Predators then take it upon themselves to hunt the last vestiges of the Engineers' empire, including the Aliens?
No, just Yautja and Engineers....Ok, Maybe a Little Alien pop up, but Not the entire movie.
Sekhem Ra Why? AvP is actually a great mashup it's just poorly executed on movies and doesn't live up its potential like in the games and comics.
if Xenomorphs show up in another AVP movie where the main target for a yautja is an engineer, the xenomorph should should be in a "Specimen" role for the engineers, something explaining and actually furthering the story of how they ACTUALLY relate to the Engineers. and that should be in a snippet 2-3 scenes max, and the rest of the movie should be yautja and Engineer that's it. truthfully their should be a Predator movie that is Nothing but Yautja, and they come up with a creative way to explain what they are saying to one another without subtitles or "Human" Speech.
I really like the idea of The Predators, Aliens, and Engineers all being within the same universe. It makes things so much bigger.
Despite Ridley Scott's attempts to remove the Predators from the Alien cinematic universe, these comics make for an entertaining read as the Engineers, despite being the new kids on the block, provide an unprecedented challenge to the Predators skill as hunters. I hope that at some point in the future a film or game is made that pits the Xenomorphs against the Yautja, the Marines, and the Engineers. Sounds entertaining to me.
I think the makers of the two vs movies did their best to remove the predators from the Alien universe.
This comic is what Alien Covenant was supposed to be.
Ahh, now I understand the gist of the complaints against A:Covenant, Ridley , and his dismantling of AvP lore. What we *really* want for the Alien Universe is to re-cast it in the mold of Lord of the Ferkin' Rings .... Cue legendary warrior Dwarf, I mean Yautja... now let him hack away at a series of beasts, engineers, yellow xenomorphs, uh... orcs, wargs, red and black xenomorph armies. LOL
Why not include EVERY FUCKING CREATURE! I WOULD WATCH THE SHIT OUTTA THAT!

godzillarex888 The comic you are sighting is no longer canon to Dark Horse Comics since this Fire and Stone story arc serves a reboot to their comic franchise of Aliens,Predators, and AVP. They(Dark Horse Comics) wanted to include Prometheus. Besides, those old comics have some low showings for the Predators. The Predators despite their weapons gets overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of Xenomorphs in those old comics while the lone Engineer in Fire and Stone is killing tons of Xenos with just his barehands. A Predator was even losing in hand to hand fight with a petite asian woman in those old comics. Until the Predator's friends decide to help cheating in the process. In Predator Life and Death, the Predators lost twice to the Colonial Marines fighting for possesion of the Juggernaught ship on the planet Tartarus. The first true engagement between them the Colonial Marines were using their motion trackers and smart guns to negate the Predators cloaking advantage. The Predators ran away after 2 of their people died. The 2nd time was the Predators getting tricked by being kept busy by some Colonial Marines while another group of Colonial Marines went inside the Juggernaught and flying it away from the clutches of the Predators. In Prometheus Life and Death, the same group of Colonial Marines inside the Juggernaught encountered one Engineer. That Engineer managed to kill one of them. The Colonial Marines opened fire on the Engineer with their pulse rifles and smart guns. When the dust settled, the Engineer was still standing sending the Colonial Marines fleeing for their lives. One Colonial Marine remarked that the Engineer might have some force field. I could go on and on. But Fire and Stone and Life and Death is telling us Engineers>Predators😆😈
Frank Berst Predators don't run? They recently ran away from the Colonial Marines when 2 of their clanmates died in Predator Life and Death. The Predators cloaking tech were useless because of the Colonial Marines motion trackers and smart guns. The Predators lost to the Colonial Marines twice. The Colonial Marines tried to kill a single Engineer with their pulse rifles and smart guns in Prometheus Life and Death. But the Engineer withstood all that barrage thanks to his personal forcefield. The Predators teamed up with the Colonial Marines got overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of the Xenomorphs in AVP Life and Death while a single Engineer killed many Xenomorphs as shown in Predator Fire and Stone. As for Prometheus, even if we assumed they were running away from Xenomorphs(which I don't believe), those Xenos aren't human spawned. Those Xenos would be Ultramorphs since they would be spawned from Engineers. So Fire and Stone and Life and Death is saying Engineers>Predators😂

Yet Fire and Stone snd Life and Death is saying Engineers>Predators. Or how about Xenomorphs(human spawned)>Colonial Marines>Predators according to Life and Death. I believe an experienced yautja like Ahab has already cleared out a hive of xenomorphs of atleast 300 including a whole queen by himself and a max of two other helpers. I dont see how that engineer- as experienced as He is can simply just break his arm... He might be stronger physically but your story somehow ignores the elite fighting skill that Ahab apparently posseses. Either way i enjoyed the story.
It’s not a story it’s an official comic and remember that the yautja killed their prey by Art Martin in them, and physically, defeating them at the end of the day they’re not indestructible physically they can easily be injured by something heavier strong enough. We see that in the first predator movie, when a simple wooden log, crushed the predator
A AVP3 featuring the Engineers would be so awesome! I'd love to learn more about The Engineers despite that factor not being a moving focus in the films nowadays. Great video🙏🙌
Ahab is unusual, being not only one of the few depicted predators to survive an encounter with humans (grrr) but also in the fact that he's got a ton of personality attached to him. Say what you will about the AVP films, but Scar and Wolf had, and to some extent still have, some of the most personality given to any predator in film. These creatures are obviously sentient and with sentience comes personality. Now we have Ahab; He's determined, he's ambitious, he's thoughtful, he's reasonable, he's curious, he's nostalgic,, hell, he's even quirky and amicable once he gets to know Galgo a bit better. He had me laughing harder than any other character in this story, and I couldn't understand a thing he was saying. Honestly, the idea of putting a grizzled, bitter, smart-ass-with-a-soft-side ship captain together with a cantankerous, ill-tempered and impatient Elder Yautja was sheer genius.
Except you can experience that personality by reading the book or comic that they ripped it from instead of watching that joke of a movie.

Ahab was definitely my favourite character from the fire and stone and life and death comics. I'd go as far as to say along with Dachande he's possibly my favourite Yautja.
@@imposter-982 They don't kill humans for fun, in Predator 2 the City Hunter left the woman alone after seeing she was pregnant with his x-ray.
He only went after the humans he considered worthy adversaries.
In Yautja society, they cannot hunt any life forms that are tending to young, are sick, dying or pregnant, they also cannot hunt anything or anyone who's unarmed. If they do it is a shame and dishonor to the Yautja society.
So a very highly ranking predator, planning and fully prepared to face an engineer, in full combat gear, with life long training and experience was simply bested by an unarmed and oblivious engineer in his pyjamas?

Engineers have shown to engage I hand to hand combat despite their incredible technological advancements, likewise with predators.... To say I made a mistake in featuring this is like saying I shouldn't talk about predators ever....... Um, no sir. It's just a fun story, enjoy it or don't.

The story is horribly written, the circumstances unsubstantiated and the premise boring.
I personally would attempt to suppress confusing and controversial stories such as this one, which despite your claims is considered blasphemy in the predator community.

We barely see anything from the Engineers in the films, but in the comics they are depicted as both technologically advanced and physically impressive. You have to remember that these are explorer/soldier Engineers. They have advanced body armor. They have shields that stop projectiles when Colonial Marines open fire on them. They have very powerful weaponry. One Engineer routed a company of marines iirc and he took no damage. I don't know why so many people have a problem with this. An Engineer is bigger, stronger, and smarter than a Yautja. That's probably why they're regarded as the greatest game. Yautja depend on their strength weapons and stealth technology to hunt. That's not always going to go well when someone does all of that too except better.
A fight comes down to more then that a predator could win just as easy
I actually personally still vote on the predator winning out over an Engineer. Mostly due to the camouflage and stalking. Despite the physical strength difference, a predator could still take it's prey. If pride and code requires physical combat over a silence kill, then I'd say the engineer would become a clear victor. I guess it all comes down to the rules and how they are played by.
Totally agree. Queens and Empress of aliens probably stronger than engineers, but still just one predator can kill them.

Interesting story. I think if there was another predator more "in his prime", the predator would have stood a better chance. It may still have been difficult to overcome the engineer but I would put my money on a younger and stronger predator over an engineer. Great video!

Predator vs engineers. I just love to imagine a grizzled and battered tf2 engineer building things out of nothing but scrap metal to kill a predator, such as fixing a sentry to his robotic arm and a dispenser on his back ready to kick ass with his yellow hard hat on his head and now half broken goggles on his eyes.

I feel like it really depends on the skill level of the engineer as well though. Maybe unknowingly he stumbled across the biggest badass of all engineers and got to excited at the first one he found that it the engineers are really that powerful and he was one of the weakest and still beat such a skilled and well seasoned predator.
From what we has seen of the military engys he seems to be about average not to strong not to weak. And in my opinion engys are just plain stronger faster and just physical more able then predators.

yeah I think clear Engineers are the strongest and most advanced species above humans and yautja, they are only almost extinct cause their own undoing of their bio weapons accidentally going off on them
and every time we see one so far, I always just see a regular one with hardly any equipment or armor, and everyone still struggle to kill it with great difficultly
we've never seen one actually full equip and ready for a fight

An unclean and messy kill, but a kill none the less.
Ahab was outmatched, to successfully win the hunt, he had to treat the situation as a pack hunt, rather than a solo hunt. It's like a burly guy trying to tussle with a gorilla, it's not gonna happen unless you're either incredibly prepared, or you use numbers and equipment; together they still killed the engineer.
It would have been dishonourable if the engineer couldn't fight back at all, but as he'd already proved; he could. If they let the engineer get back up, it could have succeeded in killing them. So given that the engineer pasted Ahab to begin with, and Ahab had (even if indirectly) brought the human with him, so in essence he had back up.
Still dishonorable. Its likely that the kill wouldn't be recognized by his clan as a result of him having to be aided and by a Human no less.
He would've been fine if he just killed the Engineer and left it, but claiming a trophy for that kill is dishonorable in Yautja society.
Rob Nie don't the predators have a very large amount of respect for humans? They are almost always worthy hunts, and very helpful allies when needed.
The Yatjua's are also able to have clan mates along when they hunt mother aliens and such. Its honorable.

Mr H Reviews do you know where this whole story begins? cause i read alien life and death and avp life and death and still a little confused on how it all started, by the way in one of those stories an engineer fights an alien queen and is freaking incredible how he held his own so im not surprised ahab had a hard time against one, keep up the great videos 👍

Yeah...I'm gonna have to pick Fire and Stone up. Ahab seems to be an incredible badass and I have to read this for myself. I like how their battle went in this since to me the Engineer's would be incredibly strong and resilient considering their build. Amazing video brother and I'm definitely sold on the series now.

tony machaveli if you watched the video and saw the comic art you can see he fought the engineer hand to hand and didn't use his weapons plus he is old and no longer in his prime and managed to put up a good fight before he started losing but in the end he did win.
Because a human saved his life.

So another military type of Engineer? (or destroyer?) Seeing a Predator fight against one would be awesome to see on film! Would not expect an elder Predator to be overpowered though, thought they would be more evenly matched or around the same level of strength maybe? At least we know an Engineer is easily overpowered by an adult Trilobite lol...

Arnie let the predator get cocky after it had thoroughly beaten him, and mocked him by removing his weaponry. He gained an upset victory by playing on the predators instincts that he was being "challenged" by a warrior, not some feral animal. which is something I spectacularly liked about the Predator, it was a noble evil despite being a sore loser. The Engineer was hands down one of the stupidest things I've seen on screen in a while. So this so called "intelligent" overlord/creator/scientist/engineer not a warrior, is revived for only a few seconds and turns into Jason Vorhees. Completely capable of communicating with humans, and it decides to go out its way to kill the people by hand. I was cringing. it wasn't scary. It's wasn't exciting. It was stupid. It was embarrassing to watch.

I loved Fire and Stone! I really wish they would make a movie just like it! Still just waiting for any kind of new cannon hint that the universes are shared.
I believe a predator would win against the engineers the predator has more in there arsenal where an engineer is a big tall thing with incredible strength. it more like who would win between a man with a gun or a tall man sure if a tall man was up close and surprised a man with a gun they would win but if the man with a gun seen the tall man coming at a distance then the gunslinger wins
Well, yeah. That's how Engineers win most fights, it looks like: CHEATING. xD
Even though they are bigger and stronger and more resilient than humans, they still always resort to cheap tactics and tricks and stalks us from afar before killing us with their overpowered sci-fi weapons, before claiming trophies from their 'fair hunt'. :P They turn invisible, they have a super powerful PLASMA CANNON that shoots where they are looking at, they have all their mega-blades and net-guns and IF the prey manages to defeat them in a fair one-on-one combat, like with Arnold, they SELF DESTRUCT taking everyone with them. Talk about a sore loser :D
It would be interesting seeing the Predator have more prep-time and stalk the Engineer and try his overpowered weapons and cheat tactics on him. But it felt good seeing him get DESTROYED in that fight. However... if he had been searching for an Engineer for over a hundred years, HOW is it he let himself get caught so off guard that that could happen? Seems like a clumsy fool of a hunter to me...
Guys, when a Yautja finds a decent opponent they fight without weapon (except the harpoon).
That’s the reason why in the AVP games when you fight the alien queen you can’t use weapons, o why a predator fights the dutch barehanded.

No matter how many genetic modifications the Engineers have made to their bodies, they clearly haven't enlarged their minds or spent their lives perfecting the hunt. Made-to-order muscle is no substitute for a lifetime of training.

They made the engineers ridiculously OP in the comics, and no I'm not just talking about a nobody engineer manhandling a fully armed, experienced predator elder. I'm also talking about a part in the comic where a single engineer apparently has the strength to kill a pack of xenos unarmed with no effort. Kind of bullshit when you look at the performance of the one from prometheus, and even when not comparing them it still makes no sense.
Other than that the comic was pretty good following Ahab and the human. I did chuckle though when Ahab took the engineer's skull when he didn't beat him in a one on one fight and needed the human to help him.
Engineers were supposed to be OP because they're the equivalent of "Gods"

DialecticDr: If that is true, then Hollywood needs to go back to the drawing board because it's clear they have no idea how powerful a "god" is. Imo, the case with the Engineers is another case of counting your goose before it's cooked. They only recently been introduced. We still don't know enough about them and their society to effectively write them as characters.
THIS would be such an incredible movie. I'm so tired of every Predator we see in every movie being a sloppy young blood. just once I wanna see a bad ass elder predator taki ng down the biggest baddest xenos/engineers.
I really, really enjoyed this story. I liked the fact that they balanced it out such that Predators aren't really such an overpowered, all-slaying race able to take down absolutely everything. Where's the fun in playing the game of the hunt when you already know the outcome? It's the thrill and honour of the hunt that the predators take pride in overcoming and embracing. Seeing an elder predator of such a highly regarded skill level attempt to "retreat" however, was a bit disappointing, since as far as I'm aware, retreating is considered dishonourable and cowardly among predators. So that doesn't exactly sit well with me that Ahab would attempt to run away with his tail between his legs from his most sought after prey, I'd hope he'd take his defeat with some dignity and acceptance. But the story overall, coupled with the way you explained it made for a truly enjoyable video. Thank you very much for sharing this with us, Mr H!

i aways enjoy your breakdowns. gotta remember, though, the engineer took on a skilled BUT old yuatja lol. do you think that their might be different types of engineers? the yuatja already tower over humans but in this, the engineer towers over ahab. The engineer in the ship on lv426 was colossal but in prometheus it showed they were not super huge compared to humans
So it was impossible to kill Engineers because they are creators. Finally, the Engineer's gun was used to kill him. Very interesting. I wish a movie made on the same. But old Predator movie was out of imagination. How beautifully presented..!!

Sorry for coming a year late on this video, but I personally loved a new addition to the hierarchy of Predator ranks in the story line of both Predator and Aliens vs Predator. Ahab is my new favorite Predator so much so that I have 11 ORIGINAL comic book pages from this series issues 3 and 4. I also have the Ahab SDCC exclusive figure that I will be reviewing on my channel once the ultimate one is released next month. It is a pleasure to meet you Mr. H!
This comic was bias as hell in favor of the Engineer. A predator has all the feats of strength on his side. A veteran like Wulf held his own against a predalien in a duel and was winning... yet someone another veteran is beat down by some random Engineer? An whose only feat is being outsmarted by an "inferior" human and raped my a giant face hugger? How the whole dawn race was killed off by David because none of them question why a ship which had been missing for thousands of years suddenly shows up out of the blue? No security protocols or anything. Just gathered out in the open where it's easier to be killed. Even the dumbest predators are not this stupid. The Predators blow ships that are stolen and destroy their technology routinely. Super Predator or any pred should bitch slap an Engineet under normal circumstances.
тѕavo hey, just started looking into this stuff. Can't believe how in depth it really goes, it even the fan base, and to that, I say, good on ya guys!. But that also being said. Those people on covenant, they weren't engineers, but possible humanoids created, and way more primitive than them. There's tons of info on it. But they were test dummies so David would be ready for the real thing.

It's quite interesting to me that these advanced races with their technology, starships ect are basically barbaric. They don't really appear to work in cooperation with each other so how did they evolve?
Maybe the technology is stolen from another race.
Possible I suppose and, of course, I made the comment based on human thinking which is probably irrelevant in this case.

Was there ever a comic on Cracked Tusk, Nightstorm and Scavage. I remembered when I was a kid back in the early 90's & had thoses figures (as I've lost 'em over the years or ended up broken). It came with a lil' mini comic book but can't remember if it had anything to do with thoses three predators??

I read the comic; it was amazing; truly great comics; althrought even he get a very Hard time that hunting an engineer; he definetly almost lose to the engineer.
End he definetly beaten by the second one; and seeing an elder pred beaten was satisfying :)

One of the saddest things about the current state of these franchises is the lack of Mr H narrated lore.
I think it would almost always be a 50/50 chance for either of them... predators are formidable hunters! Killing is what they were born to do! & they are not small by any means .. Engineers are clearly very powerful , highly intelligent , they hold the power to create life or to exterminate it! The dual would be like no other before it .. nothing short of a spectacular show of destructive force.. movie magic at its best ! Coming to a theatre soon...

depends on the engineers knowledge of the predators and if they can see through the cloak without assistance from any external device
edit: to be fair, after years of playing AVP2 and the reboot in pvp, I learned to spot them quite easily - provided they are moving
And if we are counting the games, we've seen extremely large predator craft that have extraordinarily powerful energy weapons
However we have yet to see a pred army, just small groups - gangs at most
Given their culture, I highly doubt they are organized to any large degree

Lorenzo Arias a super predator almost got his ass beat by an malnourished and weakened predator,the genetically modified predator in the new upcoming movie could probably be a challenge for an engineer.
No, the fight was not even close, it looked like Berserker was trying at first when they tackled each other but this was only because he was mad that he escaped. The Berserker Predator was winning the fight the entire time, the Jungle Hunter only hit him twice and one of those was a cheap shot coming from invisibility. At the end of the fight, the Berserker was not even tired, but the other Yautja was left battered and bloody and could not even escape the single handed grasp of the Bererker around his throat.

James Shepherd No, that's wrong. The Jungle hunter was already weak and strung up for days maybe weeks. But Still managed to land two heavy blows. Him being invisible didn't make it a cheap shot. He was using his equipment. Similar of the bezerker predator using his Plasma Blasts on a weak predator let alone. Note also it took 3 super predators to take one Jungle hunter down.
What? if you had read the prequel comic you would know that the generic navy seal main character that landed before Royce and the group teamed up with Noland to ambush the Jungle Hunter and use it as bait for the Super Predators who brought it back to their camp where they tortured it. Remember in the film when the group fell into that area filled with traps? and found the dead body if the guy in the middle, those traps were set by that guy however they were bypassed and he was shot in the stomach by a plasma caster.
Also, the Jungle Hunter did not land "two strong blows" the Super Predator was barely phased by them, and the first time he even shook his head after and left him self open mocking the Predator for being weak. Again, the second time, was a surprise attack, all the rest of the fight the Super Predator was winning
But wait, aren't the Yautja's wrist computers cybernetically attached to them?

Some more honor bounded demand the Predators to die with the wrist device always.
While other more open minded ones will have a detachable one.

Myself I really enjoyed the character Ahab. A very solid Predator most definitely one of the toughest we have ever seen. Would love to see someone of this type in future Predator film or series.
While I did find this story interesting and unique, It's hard for me to believe that the Engineer would be able to overpower the Predator like it is written in this comic. Yes Ahab was older and much "slower" during this fight than his previous encounters, but I still think he could wipe the floor with the engineer. Good read tho. Thanks for sharing.

the engineers are highly powerful mate and the most advanced and this engineer wasn't even armed if it was armed and the predator was in its prime i am sure it would of still lost it would have to fight a engineer that is unarmed during its prime to even have a chance of winning.

I think Engineers are the most advanced race in the universe.
Yes that is indeed what they are. They have reached a pinnacle in their evolution, and were on the verge of reaching "Godlike" Status as in leaving their own organic, and in this case biomechanoid bodies behind, and becoming actual non-corporeal beings.
But the reason why they may not have been able to achieve this was that they're spirit may have became diminished, not thinking interms of Good, and Altruistic ways, but just viewing all life in the universe as something like in a pietry-dish, to just erase and discard, experiment and tamper with to their liking.
But interms of their technology incredibly and possibly the most advanced yes. They have hulking strength, peak, physical fitness, they seem to have overcame disease. They have no hair whatsoever, their skin evolving to a point it has no pigment and is more akin to porcelain.

Strange to me how an engineer is so "physically superior" when predators weigh upwards of 500 lbs and an engineer is around 300.
Genetics, an ant can lift 6 times his body weight but a much larger human can barely lift their own body weight
@@Montyweb thats more to do with the square-cube law than genetics - but we could argue that the engineers have some idk advanced bio-mechanics that are indistinguishable from their body increasing their strength dramatically
