Nutn, I've been a subscriber for a long ass time. You got me into knives. many years later I became a full time blade smith and I get to do what I love. Just wanna say thanks.
love the in field knife reviews! really missed them. Always liked the look of the bradford stuff when it went by, but after seeing this knife, the ideal blade shape, and the way it performed, I'm probably gonna have to add one to my collection.
You’re the only “TH-camr” worth following. I’ve been watching you since 2011. Please keep this channel going. I’ve bought multiple guns based on your reviews.
That handle is a very classic bushcraft handle believe it or not!! Coke bottle handles are on some of the very best bushcraft knives !! I would use it especially the 3v steel!!
Nice review! FYI they don’t call it the 4.5 due to blade size. The Guardian 4 is called that because it’s a 4 inch blade. The 4.5 is called that because it’s a new edition of the Guardian 4 (I.e. same blade) with a new handle without the choil setup of the regular 4. The same is true of the 3/3.5 and 5/5.5.
I use the 4.5 as an outdoor knife and the Guardian 3 M390 3D as edc. I put the 3 through hell and only have to take it to the strop weekly, sharpen it every 6 months or so. These are excellent USA knives. Highly recommended.
I love my guardian4 m390. One of the most brilliantly ergonomic handles ever imo. Stabbed it once into MARBLE (through frozen bacon lol) and it dulled the tip like 2mm plus its one of my longest edge holders so the ht is on
Long time no see... at least not with a knife review... this is my favourite Bradford Guardian... I think this is not a bad bushcrafter exept for the jimping...
My boyfriend and I call him uncle nutn bc we both feel like it’s that uncle you wish you had. The one who passes down family traditions and who is the alpha male outdoorsman.
hey nutn great review, I just picked one up in n690 ( a little more in my price range ) thanks for the awesome review. keep em coming. you opened my eyes to this brand I had no ideas Bradford existed before you and when I saw the thumbnail I was stoked on the blade shape. just a friendly FYI, they sell Kydex sheaths on their website and im going to pick one up myself in the future.
Love to see the knife clinic back in action in TNP. With so many of these shorter "field" knives on the market, I wonder how versatile they are. What did Ron Hood say? "You can do a small task with a big knife, but you can't do a big task with a small knife". There's a lot of truth and wisdom in that statement. Is this a "small" knife? Would I need to bring a bigger knife along for the ride?
Boy does this take me back. Man I remember arguing (with a fat guy with a black lab making weird knife videos) about whether or not his points even had any weight, no pun intended. I actually could have been one of those dorks that made you come with two types of cool and not ashamed to admit it.
Joseph Troyer without a doubt ! Freaking bombproof! Have a few of his and some from his previous company Blind Horse Knives. Just ordered his Overland Machete, can’t wait to tear shit up!
As a bladesmith and custom knife maker, I do like the design of that knife. It is a bit pricey, however, for a production blade. You could get a custom knife for about the same price range. But all in all I would give it two thumbs up. BTW, I enjoy your mountain settings. Please keep a keen eye on Macie in those mountains. If there was a lion in the area she could be snatched up before you had time to save her.
Bradford is top quality some of the best. The best thing about Bradford, there's a flavor for all. Want leather or kydex sheath? Check. Any steel you want that is considered Super steels? Check. Blade grind? Check. Grip material? Check. Want for edc? Check. Woods knife? Check. Tactical? Check. The best part is, you can go to the site and build the knife you want, and there is hardly any wait like other custom knives. Prices are spot on, From $100-$250. Bradford is my number one recommended fix blade. Next to LT Wright, Bark River, and Winkler. Bradford beats them all in price though. LT Wright would be the closest.
Nice video! You should check out Attleboro or Spartan's fixed blades if you ever get a chance. They have some pretty cool fixed blades. More 'tactical' then practical, but cool.
Hey @nutnfancy what ever happened to the video about the security camera footage at Gunnies where you stopped the buglers from breaking into the store?
I like the knives, think the blade and handle color combos are great, high quality, good blade shape options to fit different uses, but have a hard time justifying the pricetags. Especially when you can get an ESEE 4 for under $100. Which also come with a better sheath. These are my preferred blade size too (Sorry Nutn, can't do the monster blades you like). Just doesn't make a lot of sense for the money.
My observation on this model is that it is way over priced. I’m not comparing it to less expensive knives, but to knives in the same price range, like the Bark River Knives. For the same amount of money, you get a lot more quality as far as workmanship is concerned. Also the leather sheath on these Guardian models is absolute garbage. I prefer leather sheaths in general, but these have no retention, zero, and the leather is paper thin. Know this: if you buy this knife, you are going to have to by an additional sheath or two depending on weather you want both leather and kydex of just one of the two. I agree with your assessment that a price tag of $150 would be more appropriate and would make me happy as well
My goodness my good fellow. I tuned in for a knife review and was assaulted with innuendo. Haha. Perhaps the first part of your channels name "Nut" has something to do with that. But seriously great review. It looks like an awesome knife. But yes the price. One really does get f'd with that. But too be honest, it does look worth the coin.
TNP Patreon comments! www.patreon.com/Nutnfancy "JT Thank you for another good review. I like the mountain backdrop and the appearance by Macie. I was thinking the same thing that RowdyRon wrote above - that an ESEE 4 or 5 would be a better value in the same size class, and may be just as good at holding an edge. Of course, the ESEE 1095 high carbon steel needs to be kept oiled and protected to avoid corrosion - the CPM3V is more corrosion resistant. But the price difference is substantial. Please share your thoughts on competitive options and value. Thanks! 3mo Joseph Pena Thanks for the review! You already have such a solid playlist of outdoors knifes in a saturated market. I appreciate the new reviews of brands that aren't that common. 3mo Benson Huntley Looking at that knife the 1st thing I thought of was buying it for a kitchen knife POU. That's right .. kitchen knife. Vegimatic 2000. I have excellent blades that I carry and take in the woods but my kitchen knives totally suck. Trouble is that if I did that pretty soon I would have a 2000 dollar knife drawer because we would get spoiled and want all kind of bigger ones. Nice knife for sure but I beat my woods blade to death. I better stick to my Morakniv blades so I don't cry when I trash them. Thanks for the sweet video and give Macy a treat for me. 3mo Daniel A. Herb Thanks for the Update. I love my Guardian 3.0, looks like I'll have to get another one soon. 3mo CounterMeasure Looks like some competition for Survive! Knives GSO series. The smaller GSOs at least. 3mo Chris Awsome blade nutn I dig it, excellent review 3mo Harold Galen McPheron Nice review, more outside reviews... 3mo Lee Harrell More mountain vids with Mountain Dog Mark II. Please! The mountain vids are, by far, my favorites! Great video, great review, let's please see more of Macie! :) 3mo JN I've come to hate the CS plastic sheaths. They will quickly dull a sharp edge since the edge is allowed to contact the inside of the sheath. Most plastic or kydex sheaths I own do the same. I've almost exclusively gone to buying knives with leather sheaths for this reason. Just my 2 cents. I love seeing you in the mountains again. It's been too long! 2mo Jason Burson That’s what she said 2mo"
Awesome vid as usual I just look and I haven't been getting ur vid witch is sad I'm so glad u still making vids I've been a sub a long time however still luv the vids
An old Chevrolet will take where you drive it, but it's not a Ferarri, neither a new 4x4 Jeep. It's exactly the same with knives. a 5$ knife, can't do what a 239$ Bradford can.
Man. That price though... for a tiny fixed bladed camp knife that wouldn't even be very good for EDC since it's not a folder. Can't even really flex into a tactical role because of handle design. Good knife, sure. But it really doesn't look like it's worth the price unless you're an avid knife collector, paying out the ass for 2nd cool rather than 1st.
If I am ever in the woods I am looking for the aircraft engine parts... so that price seems high for something I would not use. The size seems an inch too short for a mountain multi pourpose knife. You with a 12 pound fanny pack are complaining about carrying weight ?? one knife , one small gun and food and tent stuff. I would love to see what you carried. you staying overnight or just up for the review??
For that price you can buy a beautiful HighPoint which is made in America too. Too much for that knife , i would get a KaBar instead, made in USA too but much les money......
Nutn, I've been a subscriber for a long ass time. You got me into knives. many years later I became a full time blade smith and I get to do what I love. Just wanna say thanks.
xxaustiexx cox damn that’s cool
Good ol’ mountain gear review, this is what brought me to the channel years ago. In my opinion it is the pinnacle of TNP
My favorite tuber. Got me started watching reviews and to this day, the absolute best!
love the in field knife reviews! really missed them. Always liked the look of the bradford stuff when it went by, but after seeing this knife, the ideal blade shape, and the way it performed, I'm probably gonna have to add one to my collection.
Bradford and his wife Nicole are good friends (and former neighbors) of mine. They're awesome people.
Love their products and their customer service. Excellent people making excellent tools!
I just love your channel Nutn! Love the old school outdoor clinic review!
Goin old school nature vids....
Glad to see it nutn
Probably my favorite all around knife right now.
Man that is some beautiful country there.
Congrats on 800k Subscribers!
So pumped to see a fixed blade again! Thank you!!
I use the 4.5 as an outdoor knife and the Guardian 3 M390 3D as edc. I put the 3 through hell and only have to take it to the strop weekly, sharpen it every 6 months or so. These are excellent USA knives. Highly recommended.
Nothing like an oldschool Nutnfancy video.
Funny timing. I'm going to Kent WA tomorrow and will be going to Bradford. Have a few. Really nice blades.
I always like your videos outdoors. I feel like your talking to me directly.
Dude dig the old school channel feel recently
That backdrop though...
Beautiful backdrop for a video. Love the in field knife reviews.
I love my guardian4 m390. One of the most brilliantly ergonomic handles ever imo. Stabbed it once into MARBLE (through frozen bacon lol) and it dulled the tip like 2mm plus its one of my longest edge holders so the ht is on

I think this is not a bad bushcrafter exept for the jimping...
What a background shot brother would love to see the same view in a snow storm if you could
This was a great review! great location, great knife, great test!
My boyfriend and I call him uncle nutn bc we both feel like it’s that uncle you wish you had. The one who passes down family traditions and who is the alpha male outdoorsman.
I've been calling him my internet stepdad for years.
Would love to see you test LT Wright knives. Either genesis or gns in your choice of steel
I love these videos. The location is amazing.
That view...those mountains, those blue sky, that green lush valley.
Yeah, Nutn' always has the best gear. I'm a $19 Mora HD guy. (favorably reviewed in TNP, however)
hey nutn great review, I just picked one up in n690 ( a little more in my price range ) thanks for the awesome review. keep em coming. you opened my eyes to this brand I had no ideas Bradford existed before you and when I saw the thumbnail I was stoked on the blade shape.

Nutn, check out LT WRIGHT knives ! That Bradford seems badass though.
LTWs are my favorite fixed!
Joseph Troyer without a doubt ! Freaking bombproof! Have a few of his and some from his previous company Blind Horse Knives. Just ordered his Overland Machete, can’t wait to tear shit up!
3yrs later and still the same pricing. Nice. I have a G3 in m390 and a G4 in MagnaCut. Think I’ll get a G4.5 and a G5.5.
The handles are in g10. Have never seen black/blue micarta before
Ya that’s g10. That said they have a micarta option.
As a bladesmith and custom knife maker, I do like the design of that knife. It is a bit pricey, however, for a production blade. You could get a custom knife for about the same price range. Please do a video about the glock 40 mos 10mm !!
He made one on the g20. Just watch that and pretend it's longer lol
traveltrove 😂😂 I guess that will have to work for now
It's the same strategy I use with my wife 🤣🤣
Love the knife review videos. Keep em comin!

Amazing camp site! You camping there or was this a day trip to do the review ?
Still rocking the sog flash 1 😂
Thank you for the vid, looking forward to picking one up.
Hey NUTN, just wanted to let you know for whatever reason your notifications for your channel don't work anymore!
You reviewed the 3 because I have it. I think that was all available at the time.
Maybe a comparison to the Esee 4P?
"That's what she said!!" Ha!! Got 'em lol! Sweet blade Nutnfancy. Love the color!👍👍🇺🇸
Dude that's a nice knife. Slather that sheath in snow seal before you go out and it will be absolutely fine... protects your carbon knives also.
Nice video! You should check out Attleboro or Spartan's fixed blades if you ever get a chance. They have some pretty cool fixed blades. More 'tactical' then practical, but cool.
Damn what a beautiful day in the mountains.
I like the outdoors videos since I am stuck inside with my 3 month old.
They have really nice kydex now for additional 40 bucks
I’m over here hoping your love for this blade makes you start reviewing more high end knives again 😂
Hey a review on the Sakimori CRKT would be good, i wonder how the O1 Tool Steel holds an edge ?
How did this slip by without me seeing
Nutn, have you ever seen a Sasquatch or a Dogman on your wilderness adventures?
Also agreed nut if the knife don't look good I'm not gonna follow up on the rest
Hey @nutnfancy what ever happened to the video about the security camera footage at Gunnies where you stopped the buglers from breaking into the store?
Awesome video!👍

Col Nutn looks like .300 Win mag country up thar. C ya!
How does this 4.5 compare to the lion steel m4 ? Nice job

150 dollars wouldn’t be appropriate , it’s CPM 3V it isn’t D2 or something
@@susannschmidt6915 3V isn’t all that… besides that, my comment made a direct comparison to other 3V knives and what you get for the money.
GORGEOUS knife...
Any opinions about Cutco outdoor stuff?
Very Cool knife Sir !!!!!!!
My goodness my good fellow. I tuned in for a knife review and was assaulted with innuendo. Haha. Perhaps the first part of your channels name "Nut" has something to do with that. Why do none of Nutn's videos come up on my feed now? Bloody TH-cam.
Awesome vid
Looks comparable to the Survive Knives blades.
where's lunch?!? I Miss the Nutnfancy cooking show.

Who was the one that gave this a thumbs down?
thankyou for the content
esse 6 P would be almost 100 dollars less and have more for me.
Oh the intro gives me such anxiety! I threw a knife like that and it bounced off the log and right into my shin
2:40=how many thats what she said
160$ on amazon
I'm just here for the gloves and watches
Aren’t these made by parent company Colt and sold at REI and Wal Mart?
No
Awesome vid as usual I just look and I haven't been getting ur vid witch is sad I'm so glad u still making vids I've been a sub a long time however still luv the vids
Looks like a replica of the BM Bushcrafter.
Cool
CDS AXARQUIA from Amazon is a better deal...
Looks nice but it is out of my price range.
Go on a diet for a week or two put your savings money towards this blade.
i have a doggo named Maci
$239??!!
Dave Cant says rusty 5$ fixed blade yard sale butcher knife will do.
An old Chevrolet will take where you drive it, but it's not a Ferarri, neither a new 4x4 Jeep. It's exactly the same with knives. a 5$ knife, can't do what a 239$ Bradford can.

Its a cool knife, but i love me my Bravo One in CPM 3V
honestly that sheath is a disgrace haha
Now this screams America!!! If I wanted to watch about dog training, I would go watch the dog whisperer....
For that price you can buy a beautiful HighPoint which is made in America too. Too much for that knife , i would get a KaBar instead, made in USA too but much les money......
A knife needs a guard so you dont slice your hand open in the middle of no where. All knives should have one really.
It has a guard.
Daddy like.
