I couldn't resist checking this out since my mother's parents emigrated from Stavanger at the end of the nineteenth century. I've been exploring symphonic offerings from Norway and am already a huge fan of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. I've also enjoyed offerings from the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. I've become a fan of Sibelius along the way as well.. This is an excellent performance with really outstanding video production quality. I think I'll come back for more. This group certainly deserves more than 1.6 thousand views in five months. I would say that I've come to appreciate this symphony at a bit quicker pace after listening to Paavo Jarvi conducting the Orchestre du Paris. This feels closer to Leif Segerstam with the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra.
Greetings from India…a wonderful rendition of the Sibelius 2nd…as someone said…great video presentation with seamless camera work. I too like quicker tempi but there is weight in this reading. I like the apparent kinship to Tchaikovsky in this symphony. Very similar to my favourite recording of this work - by Ashkenazy and the Philharmonia on Decca as well as the BPO under Okko Kamu…Bravo

Very nice rendition of what I consider Sibelius' most heartfelt symphony and certainly my favourite of his.
