So I faced Havok again! If you've been watching my For Honor videos you know that I faced Havok a few days ago in duels and played 3 matches against him. Now, I was placed against him once again in For Honor duels and this time I asked him to hold a main vs main match with me. My girl Peacekeeper whom I've got 80 reps on her and his boy Warden with 80 reps on him. He accepted and it was a tough match! It took to the final round and you can see everything!

Used to like havok until he became so hypocritical. Loves to ledge people but hates it being done to him, also hates being bash spammed but he constantly does it to everyone.

Was playing against havok one day on his live, as a fan was happy to see him and emoted, he was already angry because I won against him previous match. He then went on to use hl and try to light spam me but am pretty good at reacting and could parry. He was so salty and called me a weirdo and a try hard even tho he clearly was so salty cos he kept running into me and losing on stream. I was clueless to what he was saying on stream. Joined and he was literally tearing me down. Sad sad because I watched him in the past a lot and notice he changed and got more hypocritical. There are some messages on discord of him literally salty to losing and blame you for bash spam

What's wrong with ledging? It's a part of the game right?
In duels it's considered unethical. It's a sort of unwritten convention and customs between the players. In 1v1 you kill just by fighting.

It's usual in For Honor videos. The title and thumbnail refer to an event during the video.

Ledging in 1v1s is purposefully frowned upon because 1v1s are fun because of the fighting. Ledging someone is a fast way to kill for dominions and breaches. In a 1v1 all you do is basically going "another round done, next." Why are you dueling if you want the round to be over so fast? On the other side, shinobi being shinobi, you dodged right in front of the lava and he kicked. That was clearly a mistake and Havok didn't want to ledge there as I see it. If you put yourself in a position that basically asks for the ledge, you cannot be mad about it. If he limits his options because it is "honorable", that is actually more stupid than ledging on purpose. Anyway, great video but the shinobi gameplay looks like pure pain to play against. Zone, zone, dodge, zone. The PK was fine as hell though, gj.
Yeah you are right. I didn't claim he did it purposefully in this case. But I've seen him ledge people purposefully in his videos.

Well in duels it's usually frowned upon by the majority of the player base and I like to not do it as well.

From my perspective, ledging is fine in duels. I kind of dislike the mentality of ledging being dishonorable or unethical. A duel is more than just fighting and seeing who can outperform their opponent. It's also mind gaming and good positioning. Yes, you can find both of those things in a fight without ledges, but when the opponent has put themselves in such a bad position and allowed themselves to be caught off guard by something that could push them down a cliff, it's on the opponent. The opponent allowed themselves to be maneuvered in that direction.
While yeah it sucks being ledged, it is inherently your own fault. If both players are fine avoiding ledging, that's cool, but it should not be expected by the players unless agreed upon. I am the type who will ledge if I am the first to be given the opportunity to. However if the opponent is the first to get the opportunity, and they choose to not ledge me, I will return that favor.

I would like to see a man to man fight in duels. Also with Warmonger, Raider, Warlord, Shaman, Tiandi, Jormungandr, Shugoki and Shinobi around, it is less and less fair to others. If everyone had an euqal chance, that would sound more rational.
@@TheFreeBorz I understand your perspective, but consider this. I believe ledging falls under these skillsets: map knowledge, choosing where to engage the enemy, and general awareness of your surroundings and of your opponents move set. Should these skills not count in a duel? There's plenty of places without ledges to go if you want to avoid it. You already mentioned some characters who can push you around a decent bit, but isn't it up to you to play around that?
If you are facing characters who can ledge more easily, avoid fighting them in those places where they can get it off. Some characters can play around ledges better than others which is true, but I'd consider that to be a part of their kit. You wouldn't be upset about someone utilizing their character to their maximum if it didn't include ledges.
There's also the issue of when you do get a guard break off as a character where taking advantage of the guard break will result in ledging the opponent you just lose that benefit. Take the scenario where you are in the middle of the battlefield as shugoki, you guard break the opponent and their back is to a ledge. A heavy will get them ledged, a light will net you little damage. A throw won't do anything. Should you be punished because the other player put themselves in a poor position?
