I have Pottery Barn spreads and shams now for over 10 years that still look absolutely fabulous, but I must admit once I find a classic look I am happy with and see it as an investment cost. Both looked lovely though. And my dog sleeps with me too so frequent washes are also an indicator of how well the fabric stand up to the constant laundering.
I agree. Whilevinhave bought sheets and off pieces from both, PB looks as good after 15 years as it did when i bought it. I buy PB on sale. I buy classic pieces from PB, trendy pieces from Target
I loved the Target set, it just looked more cosy than the blue one from Pottery Barn. It's always a pleasure to see Jason, never fails to put a smile on our faces. I think my husband sweats every Sunday when you post something new 😊 as it gives me inspirational ideas.
Both of our dogs are rescues and insist upon sleeping on the bed. I bought two white duvet covers for our twin beds in our 5th wheel. They were a little scratchy or rougher than I liked. So after I make my bed I lay the twin duvet cover long ways across the bed, the dogs know that is their spot. And I love it being white I can just throw it in the wash and bleach any stain that happens. While protecting my new Pottery Barn cloud quilt! My husband says he loves how beautiful I make our bed! 🤫 He has no idea how much I spend on it! 😁
I prefer the Target with PB pillow. I love seeing Jason in your videos. You are so blessed in many ways, you are beautiful, talented and you have a great personality. Thank you
Hands down Target for the win. I’d never pay that much for Potterybarn items I have in the past and haven’t been happy with the quality. I agree I like the PB pillow better
I liked both setups looked beautiful. The issue I’ve had with quilts/comforters from target is that when you wash them they shrink. They aren’t wide enough for my king size bed, so when you wash them, the blankets show. My mattress is 14” so it’s not super deep. Pottery barn quilts are much wider so that they hang down enough to cover both sides.
Thanks for sharing. I am having the same problem with shrinkage with a Target quilt. I blamed my husband for drying on high heat. Maybe it wasn't his fault.
Would like to know after 6 months how the bedding stands up with time. I’ve found Pottery barn bedding to be Excellent - very warm, soft, high quality & worth the money.
To be honest, I love my Pottery Barn bedding. Every comforter I’ve bought from Target didn’t stand the test of the washing machine. I had a Magnolia comforter that literally clumped up when I washed it. My Pottery Barn Duvet cover is so easy to wash and it repels stains. Especially my dog’s dirty paws. I have easily spent 300 dollars on Target bedding, and my PB bedding though expensive, will last a long time.
I have a comforter and shams I purchased from Target in 1990 shortly after I had a new home built and wanted to start out all new for my primary bedroom. I still have that black and white quilted comforter with reversible designs - a black and white stripe on one side and a rustic scenery toile in black and white on the other side. Scalloped edges, I use in summer and in winter I put it inside of a duvet cover for extra warmth. It's 32 years old and has held up all these years of washings and wearing. For approximately 13 years I also had 3 dogs, all of whom slept on that bed with me, LOL. The dogs departed to the Happy Hunting Ground but I'm still here and so is that Target comforter. The shams that came with the comforter have middle slit openings that I close up with safety pins to keep them taut so the pillows inside fluff out nicely.
I think both look fabulous. I ALWAYS buy Pottery Barn bedding but only when he is on sale. You have convinced me next time to look at Target. You must let your dogs sleep in your bed. I love the headboard.
Target one I never spent that much anymore like change up. I use duvet now over my white comforter so I can wash. Home goods always have nice comforters too. Save your money! Everything always looks good in your home. Jason was such sport.
I had a "retirement" part time job at Target for 4 years. I usually went home with something daily. It was difficult to not want to change my bedding with each new line that came out. Their bedding/linens are quite good quality. I preferred the Target and thought the comforter looked better quality than PB!
I agree about Target's quality, I've had several bedding sets from there and all have held up, washed up nicely!! That pottery barn set was hideous and the price is OUTRAGEOUS! 😳
I like the PB bc I own this set in white and it is amazing quality. Super soft linen and washes really nicely. Worth the investment if you get a classic color.
I would have to see what they both looked liked after they had been washed a few times, I bought expensive bedding for my guest room back in 1997, it looks as good today as it did when I first bought it.
I agree. I do own the pottery barn quilt and shams for over a year now and can speak for them, they still look brand new even though I’ve washed them many times. They are linen and I think they have gotten softer and cozier since they’ve been washed too (I wash them on delicate in cold water, and dry slowly on low heat). I believe they will last for years and were worth the money I spent. Since I only change my bedding style twice a year (once for fall/winter and then again for spring/summer) and plan to use my bedding for a few years (rather than buy new each year) I think it was money well spent. (I change it up with new throw pillows from time to time to freshen up the look) But, if I were buying new bedding more often, say season to season, I would definitely not be able to make this type of investment, nor would it be practical....oh, I also have three little mini doxies, who love to sleep with my husband and me too!🤗
@@thenarrowgate6883 THIS!!! Except I just have one doxie right now. And, although I like the look of the big knit throws, I couldn’t have one as he’s certain to catch a foot or toe or something in it! LOL
I love the Target Casaluna line, great quality for the price, lots of color options, gorgeous fabrics, and responsibly sourced fibers, to include linen, hemp, and even a cashmere/cotton blend. You can find all the options online since not all Target stores carry the full line in-house. I bought several of the linen quilt sets for family members as gifts, and I am currently looking forward to the arrival of the Cashmere coverlet set for my own bed. Oh, and the sheet sets have extra deep pockets on the fitted sheets, so they really fit on and stay on your mattress.
I have that same quilt from PB in a different color. I tried using the Target Casaluna bedding but they didn’t have a color I wanted. I ended up with a mix by using a Target throw! Thank you for the comparison.
From the UK. I would say I love the colour. Of the blue....but never would I spend that amount on bedding. I use bedding from Asda.... Walmart.... Dunelm. And Matalan. Are good too but they do go dearer.... Thanks for sharing your experience X love to you all from the UK ...
I love your videos! I own the pottery barn comforter you show on the video. It is expensive but the quality is above any comforter I have ever owned. Keep the great videos coming!
About four years ago I redid my room with all pottery barn bedding and I will never go back. Still years later this bedding is in such good shape and so soft! I bought Walmart/target bedding for years and it would not last more than a year, maybe two when washed consistently. It loses it softness in just a couple washes. I think Target nails the look of their bedding though, so cute and trendy. This is just my opinion, but if someone is on the fence about buying higher end bedding, it is worth it. It is a long term investment because it lasts much longer if you buy a timeless look.
I definitely liked the Target one better. I gravitate to grey more than blue. However, even if they came in opposite colours, when the cost is that different and the look isn't that different, I would still go with the cheaper option because I couldn't justify all that money on a bed linen set. And to those people who criticise others for pets sleeping with them, I have two words...look away. Well, they aren't my exact two words, but since we're in polite company, they'll do. 😉
As 2 of mine are asleep next to me as I watch this. When they all hunker in, it gets quite cozy. I knew I guy once who had 5 Great Danes, and he said they all slept with him. He felt very safe…that’s a bedfull!
Loved the cozy look of the Target and you sold me on the Target throw and that price point!!! Amazing!!! Thank you both for the Video and all the hard work it takes to do them for us! 😍😍
After spending DAYS trying to find "more affordable" options to some of the higher end pieces I found in stores such as RH, Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn, I have decided at this point in my life where I am fortunate to be in a good financial position now that we're empty nesters, if I like something, I'm going to just buy it, lol. Having said that, I have several of Target spreads at our beach condo and love them. I'm just if I see it, I like it, I buy it....regardless of the store (and I shop both affordable and high end stores).
Love target special the price but I do order from P B my duvet and pillows cover I know they are expensive but the colors are great so love P B! Your bed look really nice😍😍😍😍thank you for sharing
Agree, over time they won't hold up the same. The way the Target coverlet is stitched, it will develop loose threads. The synthetic yarn in the throw will definitely fray & frizz. But you could buy the Target set several times & still have spent less. HomeGoods is a great place to find high quality throw pillows for MUCH less
I agree w/your take; I loved the blue color & throw pillow from PB but Target won this challenge. Maybe keep the throw pillow from PB to go w/the Target set? Jason is funny. God Bless you both.❤️
the best time to buy bedding, from Pottery Barn, is at the end of the season. Somehow, someway, I managed to purchase one their most expensive duvet’s from the season, for less than the cost of a set of sheets! I was so excited about my purchase, that day! Velvet is such a fickle fabric too!
I like the Target one. I like gray....and looking for a new one. But I have bought a Pottery Barn quilt & shams on sale for my guest room & they've held up very well. I also have an Anthropolgy comforter & shams for that bed when it's colder....also bought on sale. But I have a new king bed for me so I'll check out the Target items!! I already have decorative shams & pillows & throw!
I love when you include Jason, he’s so much fun! You both are lovely people. Regarding the bedding, I wasn’t drawn to the first set for some reason, but I did like the pattern of the second (Target) set. Although, when you folded back the cover, the inside looked a little ‘off’, seemed a lot of loose threads on the back side of the pattern. Otherwise, it looked lovely on the bed. 😊
I like the Target comforter, shams and throw best. Not sure on the throw pillow. I like the length of the Target pillow, but you sold me on the PB pillow quality.
Loved your video…Love PB, but not their prices…if I see something I love I wait a long time for it to go one sale. I recently purchased from Macy’s the Charter Club Damask 3 piece coverlet set in 2 colors Navy and Parchment for our beds. Exceptional quality and a great price for the set…Watch for a sale 👍🏼
Just really enjoyed your video, and I have to agree that I just do not see the need to spend that huge amount for really a not so different look. As you get older and Grandma you realize what is important and what is not... good job...love these comparisons.
I 100% agree! Before you said anything my thoughts were that I liked the blue color and the hand knit pillow better. The Target stuff looks WAy better quality overall though!
I liked the Pottery Barn pillow and blanket set texture and color better, and the Target bedspread and throws. The pillow and blanket I preferred in the little bit darker color.
I really like the Target bedding best. The zipper is a nice feature on throw pillows and the oblong pillow seems to fit better too. Yay for soft blankets!
The Casaluna line at Target is amazing ! For the price the quality is great. I bought a Casaluna bath mat yesterday, it’s so soft! I’m sold on this line!
I buy PB off season or on EBay or at the PB outlet. Great quality and you can get for a fraction of the original price. I just got $78 each shams, one on clearance for $16 and the other on EBay for $33. Great quality, long lasting
A little off subject, I bought Target Threshold 400 thread count sheets a couple years ago on sale and they are so soft but sturdy. I have a Pottery Barn duvet cover & shams that I got on sale (still pricey) but absolutely gorgeous. That new Lily of the Valley collection they have has caught my eye.
As you putting on the first set, I immediately thought it was Target. It was not as thick or full as I would have expected from Pottery Barn. I totally loved the Target quilt better as well as the Casaluna throw. I’m with you on the Pottery Barm pillow though, it appears to have a feather insert which I love. The Target through pillow was beautiful though. Thanks for sharing, this was really helpful for me as I’m in the market for new bedding.
Can’t beat PB quality. I have that throw and their bedding. Target looked ok, but I love my PB. You do a great job with these videos. I really enjoy them. 💛😊💛
I began exclusively buying Target bedding several years ago when I discovered the quality. My favorites are the washed percale sheets and the Threshold flannel sheets. The percale is crisp and cool just how I like it. I’ve owned very expensive flannel before but the Threshold flannel is the softest flannel I’ve ever felt and it doesn’t pill. I have one set that’s at least 8 years old and I look forward to winter because of them. They are so cozy!
I have to laugh because I have never heard of, or met, anyone else who knows Dorf On Golf!! We watched it when it first came out and laughed so hard! Refreshing humor. My first time here and so enjoyed your video and your bantering with your husband.
Ok I have the throw from pottery barn and had the throw from Target. My Pottery Barn throw has held up beautifully, but the Target one did not mix well with my cat and also did not fair well in the wash on delicate. It literally fell apart and shed everywhere. I love my Casaluna weighted chunky blanket, love that brand of sheets, my bedspread I loved and the candles from that Casaluna line.
the comparisons were fun to see. next time you do a comparison, you should show them both without telling the price first so as we watch we could guess ourselves and then tell the prices at the end. with all that said, i liked the target bedding better. i loved the accent pillow being a longer size and the texture to it and the throw blanket looked better put together. the pottery barn one looked like something i would get caught on and stretch it out. i liked the more neutral of the comforter from target as well and you could style it more with the seasons with colored throws, pillows, etc.
I love PB pillows and of course their linen is exquisite. I only buy their stuff on sale though. Often shop Target because I like to change bedding a lot. The PB launders and retains shape and color better for the long run. So really I think it just matters how long you keep your bedding as to the choice. My dog also sleeps with me.
That was fun! Jason was an added bonus. Tell him thank you for being the tester. On my screen both quilts looked gray and the beds looked so similar. I'd have to go by feel. I did like the longer decorative pillow from Target. You made the Target throw look so cozy. Cost would make a big difference so I'd go with Target.
The target bedding looks really nice and good quality, thank you for sharing. Jason is a funny guy, God bless y’all, greetings from New Orleans, Louisiana ♥️🙏

the best time to buy bedding, from Pottery Barn, is at the end of the season.
Great job! I loved the comparison. I liked the Target comforter set over the PB. Thanks for sharing 👍
Target gets my vote!! Jason is so funny, thanks for the smile today!
Oh, that blue sure is pretty, but not worth the price. You guys are so fun to watch. Thank you for your videos!
Can’t beat PB quality. I have that throw and their bedding. Target looked ok, but I love my PB. You do a great job with these videos. I really enjoy them. 💛😊💛
Thank you so much 😊
I began exclusively buying Target bedding several years ago when I discovered the quality.
Thank you, I really love the Target. You’re the sweetest. Thank you for doing this for us. 😘
Target although I loved the PB pillow. I'd never pay 650 for bedding. Happy New Year
Definitely my pick is the target items, to me it's prettier cozy and you can't beat the price. Hi Jason you just very funny man.
Thank you mentioning quality. I can’t judge on looks alone so this info is helpful.
Hi loved Jason critic of the bedding, I would buy anything from him.
Take care and stay safe 🤗
Love the target look but the blue is 😍 as for the dog em how lucky are you we, share our bed with two 🐕🐶
The target bedding looks really nice and good quality, thank you for sharing. Jason is a funny guy, God bless y’all, greetings from New Orleans, Louisiana ♥️🙏
