I’ve been listening to Dallas since I’ve been 12, going on 30 now and every new video is a treat. He’s just. So. Good. Top to bottom, lyrics, vocal abilities, guitar writing/playing. Unreal
wow brand new to this band.... just caught this song on a TV show Saving Hope on Hulu and it rocked me... had to look it up. Just Wow and thanks for posting
his first album Sometimes was my fuckin favorite thing of all time when it came out, and I haven't really dug a lot of his new stuff, some of it is great, don't get me wrong, but Sometimes(I Wish), Comin Home, Save Your Scissors, Day Old Hate, Sam Malone....shit basically the whole thing was mind blowing and life changing. still a huge dallas fan, just kinda miss that old heart-rending sound. btw, Body in a Box and As Much As I Ever Could, plus obviously The Grand Optimist are still fucking...mind blowing. i'll always love his music, just feeling nostalgic
ive heard 3 bands on guitar center sessions and they all sound better than the original cd city and color, lissie, and churches etc. if I cut an album I want guitar center sessions to produce it they are great . better than a recording studio
It's one of those songs you just play over and over.
For years this song has hit me hard.
One of the all-time great songs. And my favorite version of it.
Love this song, Dallas Green has assembled a GREAT band and has gone off on a beautiful direction musically. Sheer talent right there.

I love the subtle differences between each life version. It's as if they made a promise to never play a song the same twice.
Hi ... I'm the "1000" like, which is about the number of times I've listened to that song.
Seriously gave me chills. This man does no wrong!
Always coming back to this version year after year 🎶
I'd say he's mastered the trade of songwriting if nothing else.
My absolute favorite version of my favorite Dallas song
one of the greatest voices I've heard live. unreal
this is uncommon. Awesome sound, video AND song!!!

reminds me on my dad always looking up and beyond when life is hard
One of the Top 3 live shows I’ve ever seen in my life was City and Color.
This is one of my favorite tracks.
Every version of this song is awesome!
You said it :-) I agree .........
This song is awesome
This man is one person that I would love to sing with.
Great songwriter. Very good music for my ears

Totally agree! Seems as if when he kept adding instruments, the music kept losing substance. 🤷🏻♂️ Still better than most stuff out there though.
I'm going to need to pick up or download City and Colour's music: its that darned good.
I REALLY like this version!
These performances are absolutely fucking perfect, thank you.

Dallas Green is very talented, but my boy Dante Schwebel on the lead guitars and vocals, is the most underrated musician this day and age.
tbh, keyboards guys looks like a carbon copy of Dallas
Is that sonny moore on the bass?
ive heard 3 bands on guitar center sessions and they all sound better than the original cd city and color, lissie, and churches etc. if I cut an album I want guitar center sessions to produce it they are great . better than a recording studio
Mmmmm mmmm acoustic
Is that Jack Lawrence on Bass guitar?
yes
❤😊
Is that Fort Worth Green on the keys?
Whoa is that Jack Lawrence?
is that robin pecknold from fleet foxes on guitar
Great track over powered by other instruments. I love the original way more.
The lead guitarist has the coolest name of all time: Dante Schwebel.
He reminds me so much of Robin Pecknold it's crazy! :D
is that Skrillex on the bass? dude is talented.
Anyone else think of Waco when you hear this?
Huge Dallas Green fan but I have no clue as to why he plays this song as often as he does
It's very special to him, as it is about his parents.
Probably one of his most sincere and personal songs he's ever written. Besides, it's one of his best.
Probably because he enjoys playing it.
for U?!
Both my parents were kinda pessimistic lol
Are you my brother
