Was rather taken back by finding out about his passing. And a friend of mine was due to meet Rutger at an upcoming autograph signing. He was going to get me a signed pic too. Real shame. Rest In Cyberspace, Mr. Hauer.
He has heard things, you people wouldn't believe, hmmm. ... attack brass of the CS80 for chariots. He's heard the glitter of the DX7. All those sounds, will be lost in time like tears in rain..."
One of Vangelis' most touching and beautiful pieces, and one of Ridley's most touching and beautiful scenes. Put together, they create one of those movie-moments you wish you could live in forever.
I made a MIDI file from this video (free download from google drive): drive.google.com/file/d/1ZVJB48ET2eWuaSwKYvB1SvaBETrhR3uR/view?usp=sharing I have been unable to find sheet or midi for this piece anywhere else. I'm no musician, the rhythm might be wrong, but I think the keys are right. Thank you for your video, it sounds great.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing this, easy to learn with this view. I like this version even better than your one with the Korg Triton, except I miss those amazing sound effects you used.
Thank you mate. Yes, a few musical differences. I prefer this synths sounds i created but the effects from the other video would work a treat over this. Cheers for watching.
This video I learned to play this tune and purchased a prophet rev 2 16 voice. What do I need to do to get the exact sound for this track? Can I buy a patch from you?
man, I wish there was sheet music for that opening title sequence. I know the main melody is pretty simple but I wanna know all the notes played on that dissonant chinese harp kinda sound you hear played over the top of it.
As pathetic as it may sound......that monologue he says always reduces me to tears as its a harsh reminder of mortality.....makes me think of all my memories, emotions and experiences.....all those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain..........time to die........(dove flies off)
I will always 'well up' when I watch that scene. Always have done. You are not alone. It is beautiful and the film is responsible for me wanting to play synths. Saw it back in 1989 when I was 14 years old. Then, in Dec 1990 I got my first synth - the Roland D50. Still my favourite film. Didn't like the sequel. Thanks for watching, Karl.
Hi Johnny. I'm afraid I have not got sheet music for this. I interpreted this version from the original by ear and just added a few things myself. Thanks for watching.
Absolutely stunning. Brings tears to my eyes every time... thanks for making this tutorial. I am playing it on 8 voice Rev2 using your patch and I notice some voice stealing. Are you using 16 voice version?
Thanks Martin. This synth is the Prophet Rev2 and I made the sound myself. Check out my other sounds when you get the chance. Thanks for watching - th-cam.com/video/FSOr4Upywa4/w-d-xo.html
Yes mate but this patch is being fed through a VST reverb(details in description) for that lovely Vangelis feel. Cheers for watching and your comments.
Hi mate. The Prophet 8 patches can be sent to a Rev 2 via SYSEX data, but not the other way round I'm afraid. You could probably program the Prophet 8 manually to sound like my patches but the Rev2 has a lot more modulation ability. Having said that, I'm not familiar with how much modulation the Prophet 8 is capable of, or how many oscillators are available at the same time. Email me at creamyraheemy@gmail.com if you would like a chat. Thanks for watching.
++ RIP Rutger Hauer ++ great video.

Yes mate - th-cam.com/video/1SaBBNvnijw/w-d-xo.html
Incredible
So nice and sweet playing. Congratulations bro... I want to made someday inşaallah my own remixed version of "Tears in rain" to.
man, I wish there was sheet music for that opening title sequence. I know the main melody is pretty simple but I wanna know all the notes played on that dissonant chinese harp kinda sound you hear played over the top of it.
See if you can find a good pianist to figure it out for you!
wow. Amazing!

Absolutely stunning. Brings tears to my eyes every time... thanks for making this tutorial. I am playing it on 8 voice Rev2 using your patch and I notice some voice stealing. Are you using 16 voice version?

Is this sound on your Vangelis patch library :)
Yes mate but this patch is being fed through a VST reverb(details in description) for that lovely Vangelis feel. Cheers for watching and your comments.
Nice👊
SAbes si es posible tener este sonido y que suene asi en uno de 8 voces?
there will be a bit of cutting because im using more than four notes sometimes.
Hi Raheem. Is this patch compatible with prophet8?

Hi there. This machine is 16 voice, but it works on 8 voice too. Thanks for watching.
