    As a Brazilian, I can say that corruption fucked up the economy in the last 5 years in a way that unemployment went from less than 5% in 2014 to a staggering 13% in 2019.

      @@markasb7513Sure, that’s the reason. It’s not at all because it’s usual for U.S. traditional media to always focus on countries in Latin & Central America, Asia and Africa when it comes to issues that are generally perceived as negative, even if the exact same things are happening on a large scale in the U.S. as well. And to be clear, corruption is rampant in the U.S. in all levels of government and most, if not all, major (media) corporations, even if a lot of the corruption is no longer illegal mainly because of several rulings by the U.S. Supreme Court.

    In India corruption is the norm when it comes to dealing with any government official be it a traffic police constable or a high court judge. So called public servants are exploiting people. Digitization of all processes requiring government involvement and making interactions with the government impersonal through online/digital medium can reduce corruption to a great extent.

    Hey your videos are really good. I find the videos very informative. Hey please make a video about Pakistan economic problem. Pakistan goes to IMF after every 5 years. Whats the problem with Pakistan's economy?

    • @fretted4life
      @fretted4life 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Disproportionate expenditure on defence, the presence of a shadow economy, tax compliance at abysmal levels, import of second hand used cars further depleting foreign reserves etc..

    • @ankitchoudhary9858
      @ankitchoudhary9858 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You're defence expenditure is too much for your economy. Look at any nation with same GDP as pakistan and then compare your armed forces with them. Even countries like France, Japan and UK whose military spending are $ 40-50B have less soldiers than yours. Now I know, this a matter of pride for your country to have such a big army but it is also a disaster for your economy. Then your "military first" policy is again bad.
      In last 30 years, from 1988 to today, you have asked IMF a bailout 12 times that means one bailout per 2.5 years plus don't forget numerous economic assistance from Saudi Arabia and China and now you're asking for 13th bailout. Believe me, a prosperous pakistan is less problematic than a poor pakistan for both of our countries. We're not going to attack you or harm you.
      Best of luck

    What is amazing is that religions use the same corrupt tactics and even the brightest are totally blind to their tactics!
    In Corrupt countries the best resume does not get you the job, the best product does not get you the contract - wait buddy, you have to go thru us - either you pay ormust have the right connections to get what you want
    Religions say the EXACT same thing - you could be the greatest person in the world - a Gandhiji, a Buddha but wait buddy, you have to go thru us - only our God can get you Heaven, so first you must convert Works do not matter - all you have done in your life does not matter The only thing that matters is religion
    Just like the Corrupt people rig the system, religions also use the lure of Heaven to push conversions
    Corrupt religions dominate the world!
    They dominate because the moral, ethical, educated seem totally brainwashed by religion

    Bribery is just a norm in Indonesia, even when the bureaucracy is modernized with computer based bla3, those people will still find a way to embezzled the funds

    As old school as history itself. I'm Brazilian and as far back as remember my first glimpse of kinda first-hand corruption was when I got my driver's license at age 18. All went quite normally till the last day in driving school when my instructor came to me with something like "uhhh y'a know how this things work you'd better pay them (the gov inspectors) some extra cash otherwise it's going to be reaaaally difficult to get your license." I was like okay whatever it takes I'm not gonna argue after investing this much." And then came the exam day and Jeesus Christ talking here and there to other guys I found out every single applicant (some 70-odd people) from a dozen or so driving schools had to pay too. "Wait how much you paid? Damn I paid twice as much. Fuckers!!" "Hey I paid this much for both car and motorcycle licence" and on. BTW I would pay something like equivalent to a 70 US bucks but just 30 extra and I would have the motorcycle license so I choose the latter. Nice deal! And the corruption goes on...
