    I finally gathered all the parts and found the time to clean a Volquartsen Summit precision 10/22 rifle. I really think this will be a tack driver. Nearly every single part to this was sourced through Brownells. Perform any modifications on your personal firearms at your own risk.

    Man, nice job on going through this build in such detail. Beautiful components, that receiver and barrel are gorgeous!
    As far as those Swampfox rings...some cheaper rings have tape on there to keep from scratching the scope finish, but I also believe to take account machining deficiencies. Honestly, I would've removed that tape and checked alignment and lapped those rings. I'd bet they don't align well. I've only had 1 dealing with Swampfox and wasn't impressed with their QC. I have their Kentucky Long scope on my Bergara(can check out the video I did) and the scope had finish blemishes someone touched up with paint. This was a brand new scope.
    If I ever do another 10/22 build, I think I'll go with that stock...truly a nice stock. Love how the entire package turned out...can't wait to hear how well it shoots. Hope you have a great weekend brother!

      That’s a good idea. I have lapping tools. I should take it off and check it. Thanks brother!

    Awesome build, I invested in many Volquartsen parts for my few 10/22, not the bolts or receivers, kept the ruger ones but extractors, springs, trigger and barrels are all Volquartsen. I even upgraded a ruger charger take down too, which I had to manually sand away its forearm stock to accommodate the Volquartsen barrel; it came up really nice; Have yet to try them but there is enough enjoyment by just doing the builds!

      I agree 100%. Volquartsen is top notch and building and modifying is super enjoyable.

    I couldn't quite tell. Does the Summit receiver have a cleaning rod hole in the rear of the receiver?

    Been meaning to get that, but have mixed reviews on it. + not many videos on that Summit. One says it's ok, other guys says it's hard or have difficulty loading the ammo. + what kinda watch you have? You already see how accurate it is yet? & that's a tiny bipod, is it the latest 2022 version?

      I haven’t been able to sight it in yet. I’ll report back once I see how she runs. I have a Garmin Instinct Solar watch and love it. The bipod is a standard size Harris and is their current production model.

      @@faithkillsfear yah, looks like a great time piece you have. Surprised you haven't tried it yet. Them Biathlon style action are unique for a 22.

      @@lawrencehawk5179 yeah I’ve been super busy. I brought it out to the range along with my 6mm arc build and ended taking too much time with the ARC and ran out of time to sight in the summit.

      Thank you! I honestly have no idea. Don’t get me wrong, I paid for every single part but I didn’t keep track. It was expensive. The trigger was 400 by itself if that gives you any indication. Probably in the 1500-1700 range but I’m just guessing

    You not use shims on the barrel for proper head space?

    • @faithkillsfear
      @faithkillsfear  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I checked with Volquartsen and they advised those are included for the possibility of someone using another manufacturers barrel with their receiver or vice versa; and they are not needed when using both of their parts. They know their exact tolerances etc.

      They make one specifically for the Victor Company universal cheek riser. “Kraken” used to score you free shipping. Hope that helps.
