If you want the full story how Babymetal was created and a lot more details around them, I recommend watching the Babymetal guide by CrypticMisery. The short one is good but tbh I prefer reactors watching the extended version, which is about 40 minutes long but goes in more detail. I am not sure if you seen all the songs that are in it, so if you want to prevent spoilers, you probably need to react to a few more before getting to the guide :) Btw if you want an even more impressive solo from Su, check out “Rondo of Nightmare” with the Kami band intro from the same show :)
Definitely one of my top 3 songs of all time! As far as I'm concerned this song is a masterpiece. I actually find myself thinking about this song a lot. Not singing or humming it, but just thinking about it. I'm glad you liked it! Great reaction, see you in the next one.
_Akatsuki daaaa!_ This is live at Budokan 2014, reaching this huge goal with only 16 and 14 yo, big international artists performed here like The Beatles among many others, so you get the idea how huge is this. This song is a tribute to X-Japan, is a power/speed metal ballad, if you want to know legendary Japanese band you should know X-Japan, Yoshiki one of the founder member was the one who suffered serious injury while headbanging during a live concert, that's the tribute in Headbanger!! song live at Legend 1997 is a must. In this song our queen SuMetal is fighting for a love, see the pinky finger she's rising up, that's our promise of neverending love ❤️ Akatsuki (it pronounce almost with the "u" silent) it means "crimson moon" or "red moon", that's why got a homage to "Kurenai" by X-Japan, even the beginning with that shout is a tribute to live version. This is one out four solo she has on their repertory, same for Black Babymetal subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal, you can find songs like "Song 4" (with Metallica riffs) at this same venue or "Onedari Daisakusen" live at Legend 1997. Next solo recommendation: "Amore" live at Wembley Arena 2016, you can find that at BMRR, is probably a follow up song. If you want a full info of the group and the girls watch "A BabyMetal Guide" by CrypticMisery, you got a short and long version. No, the guitarrist on this night isn't Míkio Fujioka, is Leda Cygnus with the black guitar and the other one is Takayoshi Ohmura with the pink guitar or golden. I don't think the girls eat during break times, in any case some potassium might help, but if they eat MoaMetal is the one who likes fried chicken and YuiMetal would be eaten tomatoes and cucumbers, she's called tomato princess for a reason 🍅♥️ Ok man see you next time and kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥
Great! & thanks again from Japan 有り難う💛。 Your questions will be answered by wise men in the fanbase. Grington300 300, Rick Wagner, Jake Muller and other guys will show up here soon. (I am normally working on the second shift after them 😄 ). This 2014 performance reminds me of immature beauty of girl's voice. Last year 2021, on Feb.19, BM revived it on a similar center stage (not rotating but telescopic octagonal). I witnessed it at Budokan, the same legendary arena in this video. Honestly I can not remember clearly what I saw and what I heard because it was too surprising and too mesmerizing. (Even after I viewed Blu-ray videos released last September) There is one certain thing, however. I felt celestial bliss there, especially with Su's matured richer voice.
⚡ / 🔴 🌙 To answer your question, BABYMETAL's producer Kei Kobayashi (also known as Kobametal, or just Koba) was a long time Metal head. He had been working as a producer for indy bands, and on other projects for Amuse Inc. for many years. He became aware of Suzuka Nakamoto (or just "Su") in the Amuse Kids division while she was the youngest member of the Jpop trio Karen Girl's, and decided to form a Metal group around her. She was 11 years old when Koba saw her perform at the final Karen Girl's concert. He was very impressed with her "no holds back" singing style and stage presence. The Kami Band member who passed away was Mikio Fujioka. Although he was a Kami Band member at the time, he wasn't performing at this concert. The member you first pointed out was Takayoshi Ohmura. Leda Cygnus (black guitar) was the other guitarist at this show.
Koba had been thinking about what kind of group could follow up on the success of Perfume, a super popular JPop trio who were also Amuse, Inc. artists. Karen Girl's disbanded in 2009. In 2010 Su became a first generation member of the school-themed Idol group Sakura Gakuin. BABYMETAL originated as their "Heavy Music Club" sub-unit. Yui and Moa were added (as "Scream & Dance" members) to provide backing vocals and choreography. They were intended to be "twin-like" angels on either side of Su, the lead singer. BABYMETAL became an independent group when Su aged out (graduated) from Sakura Gakuin in 2013. Yui and Moa were members of both Sakura Gakuin and BABYMETAL until their Sakura Gakuin graduation in 2015.
The two guitarists who played here, are still alive. The one who passed away was Mikio Fujioka, who was not at this 2014 Budokan 2-Days. Like me was, we, the fans all want to know more about BM, and like a fish returning to its mother river, we fish for their videos from the past, haha. There is a great informational video by fanmade RAH22 said below. Check it out and react to it next! This song is totally a homage to the legendary Japanese 80's-90's metal band 'X Japan', I believe. The use of piano in the song completely reminds us of Yoshiki, who was a core member of the band. But I was not a fan of power metal, speed metal, or 'visual kei' much, so I didn't listen to X Japan.... But I like the sound of the piano, haha. I have heard that Team BM has another excellent manipulator, Mr. Hidefumi Usami. Thank you from Japan!
Loads of exellent info given already. A Italian youtuber who is a big fan of BabyMetal gets his friends to watch and react BabyMetal they all seem like music teachers and students and is a performer himself said none of the friends he asked to do the vocals to this song In a performance would not do it as they said it was to difficult . Shows how good Su was at just 16 years old 😁 🤘🦊🤘
BabyMetal is Su's 4th band. I think it went Karen Girls, Tween, Sakura Gakuin then BabyMetal. By the time she was 16 she had like 10ish years of experience on stage.
Mikio was the one who passed away. He wasn't in this night's performance. Su has been performing since she was 6 I believe. Others will tell you the whole story but you will get a lot of your questions answered in a more fun way if you react to Everything You Need To Know About BABYMETAL - A BABYMETAL Guide that was done by CrypticMisery. 🤘🦊🤘
Good reaction, thanks! You were correct about Moa being back stage (or under it in this case) eating fried chicken. Yui, on the other hand, was just charging 🤣 "Akatsuki" is my favorite song of all time and this is my favorite live performance. There are some other performances which are technically "better" and sometimes she doesn't have issues with her left IEM ;) But I just love this one. That image of Su working her cape where you paused is iconic. To think she was only 16 here is mind blowing. Why Suzuka became Su-metal? Because she's so damn good... and Kobametal (their producer) chose her specifically for his (crazy) project or vision of mixing the kawaii (cute) culture with metal. And it looks like it worked pretty well. 😁
Such a good song! Su's singing is amazing. The guy with the purple glitter guitar is amazing as well. He has some old videos of guitar lessons here on youtube. What blew me away is how he plays so fast with very minimal hand movement... also, he can pretty much sing almost every note on the fretboard pitch perfectly as he's explaining the lesson. He's incredibly talented.
Su from a very young age (like 2 or 3) was in the entertainment world. She grew up as an idol and eventually joined an idol group called Sakura Gakuin which was an idol group with school theming. Su was a singer in SG and as part of the school theme she had to join one of the many "Clubs" which were just idol groups formed out of the girls of SG. One of the Producers there grabbed her because he had the idea to do a Heavy Metal + Jpop fusion and liked her voice. So he had her join the Heavy Metal Club. 2 other SG girls were picked up as back up dancers and singers and they were off. As with pretty much all idol groups they sang and danced there songs to backing tracks. They became strangely popular and started touring. After this point they added a live band for some songs (still singing to backing tracks for others( again remember backup tracks and idol groups are kind of synonymous) They became more popular yada. Eventually all three girls will "Graduate" from SG (which is they are to old to continue the school girl theme of the show and move on to other things such as singing, acting, ect) However since Babymetal was so popular SG signed them up and contintued the band after the graduations as an aside project. So Su was basically a childstar, joined a talent agency that ran what was basically a reality tv show about recruiting and training Idols, had a group built around her, and became so popular that she topped the US Billboard as a Japanese Band which hadn't been done the 60's.
Good reaction - and I see all your questions have been answered already in the comments below from Rick Wagner, Flugelhorn Old Man, Jake Muller, 南 秀樹Minami, Hideki and Mike Powers. This was one of 3 solo songs Su performed at Budokan Black Night ('Rondo of Nightmare' and 'No Rain, No Rainbow' were the others .... her other solo 'Amore' made its debut at Wembley Arena in 2016). Yui and Moa also performed two songs as a duo (known as Black BABYMETAL) while Su got her chance for a break - they did '4 No Uta' and 'Onedari Daisakusen'. I will add my vote for a reaction to CrypticMisery's video 'All You Need To Know About Babymetal'.
Great Reaction again. LOL @ 1:40.. Wa wa wait, is this a ballad?" then the utter chill bump surprise when the drop happened. I still get goosies every time I watch this video at that point, for some dang reason. Su-Metal does an "unfinished Version" of this song which is a Ballad of the FULL song and is incredible. Legend of 1997 concert, last three songs were Headbanger, Akatsuki (unfinished version) and Babymetal Death. The lyrics for Akatsuki are very emotional, especially sung as a full ballad. Su actually tears up during the song and omg the hearts just drop. You can visibly see the tracks of her mascara running while she is in the next song Babymetal Death. I didn't realize you haven't seen Babymetal Death Live @ Legends of 1997 concert. OK well your destiny awaits.. You are now ready for Babymetal Death @ Legend of 1997(Su-metal's birth year) concert. The whole concert was themed around birth, life(growth of Su-metal and Babymetal) and Death (transference) Heavy metal Music Theater at its finest. MAKE SURE YOU DO Babymetal Death and it has to be the performance @ Legend of 1997 concert before watching any of the Guides. Mongo spoilers and tragedy averted. Make sure you read the description for the Babymetal Death Video, it has the translation of the Prologue at the beginning of the song. You could be lost without that understanding of whats coming. Kick ass reactions so far man, luv em. 🤘🦊🤘
Akatsuki usually means dawn, but here it is written in ideographic Chinese characters as "紅月" which means the red moon. Su is a girl who loves to sing more than anyone else. The adults around her could not leave her talent alone.
This is the performance that made me a 100% fan of BABYMETAL! For a couple years I was still on the fence on whether I really wanted to be a fan after watching them perform "Gimme Chocolate" on "The Late Show w/ Stephen Colbert" back in 2016, as well as seeing clips of "Iine" and "Doki Doki Morning", but after watching this performance, I have not stopped listening to BABYMETAL daily! 🤘🦊🤘
Great reaction. I agree you should watch the guide video others are talking about… BUT FIRST watch “Babymetal Death” from the Legend 1997 concert. The guide spoils the shock value of that performance.
No, not eating fried chicken. It has been said that they were probably doing their homework because they were expected to keep up with all of their studies. They developed this habit when they were in Sakura Gakuin to be working on their homework whenever they had any free time. It taught them to be able to instantly change focus on what they are doing at any time. I don't think she got braces. But used something similar to invisiligns. In all of her performances. she doesn't have braces, but her teeth gradually became straightened.
Think she had a wisdom tooth which as it grew started the put some of her teeth out of place . Around 2017 she may have had it removed and other teeth straighten. Thats when i noticed it gone 😁🤘🦊
The producer Koba saw her perform and thought he could form an idol group of heavy music with her in center, then looked for other members to fit with her but nobody was in her level to match. So he changed his mind to bring girls from different aspect.
No, That's Takayoshi Ohmura and he's very much alive. Mikio is the one that passed away and he's not in this video. The other guitarist is Leda cygnus.
You have questions in every video...and we provide the answers to you. But if you would like to get a good rundown on the whole of Babymetal, then you really need to React to CrypticMisery's Guide to Babymetal..the updated version please!! It answers most of the questions you are asking...and a whole lot you didn't even know to ask and 'The One' really enjoy watching new members learn all those fun facts!! Check it out and let us watch!!! Oh, and FYI, the guy you saw singing with the sparling pink guitar is not Mikio, that is Takayoshi Ohmura, and the other lead guitarist here with the Flying V guitar was Leda Cygnus. Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
BABYMETAL 101 Babymetal is a Japanese group founded in 2010 and produced by Kei “Koba” Kobayashi from the Amuse Inc. talent agency. Babymetal name comes from the birth of a new style of metal fusing j-pop with metal creating what they call Kawaii Metal (Cute-Metal). The group currently consists of Suzuka Nakamoto aka “Su-Metal” (23 years old) sometimes referred to as Vocal and Dance, and Moa Kikuchi aka "Moametal", pronounced as Moa-Metal (22 years old) sometimes referred to as Scream and Dance. With a third girl filling the third slot, in a 3-member formation. This girls is known as an Avenger her name is Momoko Okazaki (18 years old). They are supported by a rotating selection of talented male backing musicians known as the Kami Band (Kami is usually poorly translated as gods, but in truth it more closely means awe inspiring spirit, entity, or object) It is why they are dressed in white to look like ghosts or spirits, though Kami being used as God(s) is so common in translation the white outfits get lost. Past Formations. Heavy Music Club Era (2010-2012) From 2010 to 2012 Babymetal consist of a three-member formation, Suzuka Nakamoto (Age 12), Moa Kikuchi (Age 10), and Yui Mizuno aka "Yuimetal" pronounced Yui-Metal. (Age 10). First starting out as the Heavy Music Club as a subunit within the Developmental Idol Group created by Amuse in 2010 known as Sakura Gakuin. Sakura Gakuin is a group that introduces girls between the ages of 10-15 to music, dance, modeling, and acting through Japanese Pop idol music and culture. Given a school theme, all three would be a part of Sakura Gakuin until their graduation from it in the same school year they would graduate from Japanese middle school or 15 years old. Suzuka graduated in March 2013, and Moa and Yui in March of 2015. Sakura Gakuin is a fantastic group with great kawaii jpop songs in their own right. During this time there was no lore, and the girl’s costumes were more punkish in nature which they helped create. They also didn’t perform with live music, using a backing track or the “Skeleton band” people pretending to play music behind them. Music Video of this Era Doki Doki Morning Iine (Pronounced EE-NAH spelled i i n e) Headbangya Babymetal/ Metal Resistance Era (2012-2017) Starting in 2012 with the Legend I concert, Babymetal began its slow divorce from Sakura Gakuin, and was the first introduction of the Kami Band as well as the “Lore” that is still heavily involved in Babymetal but makes far less sense than it did during this time. The Lore is complex and involves a battle against other evil idol corporations, gaining powers, some time travel, running a resistance group, all at the direction of a mythical deity known as the fox god, against an all power enemy known as Akiba. The first Legend show I was the Kami Bands introduction to the end, but it also had the Skeleton Band which is seen in the wildly popular Gimmie Chocolate Music Video. This was followed by Legend D, and then Legend Z, in which it was learned that Babymetal would continue as its own entity after Suzuka’s graduation from Sakura Gakuin in March of 2013. Slowly over 2013 the Skeleton Band would be phased out of all live shows, as Babymetal came into their own. Babymetal as it is most commonly known as with Su-Metal, Moametal, Yuimetal, the Kami Band, and a somewhat understandable lore is what consisted for the majority of it’s existence. Also established beyond the 3 member formation, they had 2 other set ups, one was what fans called Su-Solos, and it would just be Su on stage with the Kami band, performing a solo, and the other is known as Black Babymetal by the band themselves, which consisted of just Moa and Yui. Music Videos of this Era Gimmie Chocolate Megitsune Rondo of Nightmare - With mischief of the Gods Intro (Su Solo and a great expedition of the Kami Band) Road of Resistance Live in Japan (Co-written by Dragonforce) Iijime, Dame, Zettai Live at Sonisphere (Name means No More Bullying Forever) Karate The Dark Times, The Chosen 7 Era (2018) In December 2017, Yui would miss the Legend-S concert for health reasons, these health problems would prosiest into 2018 and greatly affect the 2018 touring season bring the “Chosen 7” formation, consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto, Moa Kikuchi, and 2 backing dancers Minako Maruyama, and Minami Tsukui. Changes they would not tell fans and all throughout 2018 communicate extraordinarily little causing lots of pain for all involved fan and performer. This era is noted by their strange armor like costumes, sometimes referred to as Elf Armor. To make the poor communication, and Yui’s absence wasn’t bad enough, one of the more regular Kami band members, Mikio Fujioka passed away after falling off a balcony in late December 2017 while star gazing. A beloved and incredibly talented musician lost leaving behind his wife and only child. In September 2018 Yui would formally resign from Babymetal, stating her unspecified health and wishing to move on. Babymetal themselves announced that the group will move on focusing on Suzuka and Moa. (Something many idiots within the fandom refuse or are too stupid to understand) In October Babymetal had a concert called Dark Night Carnival which added dancers, Shoko Akiyama, Saya Hirai, and Kotono, placing a total of seven girls on stage. This was also done without warning to fans and was an absolute mess. Babymetal would finish off the 2018 tour season returning to the 3-member formation with just Saya Hirai joining them in southeast Asia and Australia. Ending one of the most troubling times in Babymetal’s history. Music Videos of this Era (These MVs do not feature the members in them at all) Distortion Starlight (Don’t let overzealous fans fool you, this is OFFICIALLY not a tribute to anyone. A lot of fan speculation, end of story if they claim it is they are 100% lying to you.) Metal Galaxy Era (2019- Feb 2020) The current set up was first introduced in 2019 during the Babymetal Arises concert in Yokohama, before the start, the “Avenger” support dancer concept was explained in the lore, and the concept thanks to communication and a maintaining of the 3-member formation brought Babymetal out of dark times brought about during 2018. Babymetal seemed to have returned to its roots with the Avengers, as 2 of the three (Kano and Momoko) come from Sakura Gakuin. The third Riho, went to the same performing arts school as Suzuka during the same time, Actors School Hiroshima aka ASH. Music Videos of this Era Pa Pa Ya Elevator Girl Shanti Shanti Da Da Dance (Avenger confusion) Which Avenger one sees can be confusing for those new to Babymetal. For the Music Videos, Pa Pa Ya, Elevator Girl, and Shanti Shanti Shanti, it is Kano Fujihira, who was just 14 years old at the time. Da Da Dance is a compilation of Momoko and Riho and a splicing of 2 different shows. In most fan cam videos of the American and European tour it would be either Riho or Momoko, as they toured with Babymetal in 2019. Kano had responsibilities with Sakura Gakuin as its president, a position Suzuka and Moa both held in Sakura Gakuin, and she’s never flown on a plane before. Some fans for 2019 did throw a stupid temper tantrum over the use of new Kami Band members who are from the west now known as the West Coast Kami Band, but like how the girls won over many, so did they and the payoff with the Legend Metal Galaxy concert in 2020 was well worth it. COVID Era (Mar 2020 to April 2021) COIVD-19 has messed up a lot of things for everyone, Babymetal had to cancel their Asian tour, as well their big 10th Anniversary on October 10, 2020. Forced to keep it rather tame something very unlike Babymetal as even in their failures like the entire 2018 tour they do it septically. The question for many fans is what of the Avengers, since COVID, Avenger Riho Sayashi has signed with a new agency and has move on to other projects, including starting a fan club, which appears to rule her out of ever being an Avenger again. Kano Fujihara has graduated from Sakura Gakuin on August 30, 2020, a near 4-month delay. However, she and fellow Sakura Gakuin graduates Soyoka Yoshida, Tsugumi Aritomo, and Momoe Mori in the formation of @onefive. Which leaves Momoko Okazaki as last standing Avenger with no new commitments. However, Kano was technically in Sakura Gakuin, @onefive, and Babymetal all at the same time for almost a year so it is possible she will still be an Avenger. All shows since COVID pandemic they have done in 2020 and in 2021 have had Momoko as the Avenger. Music Videos of this Era BxMxC (First music video that isn’t footage from a show and featuring Su and Moa since Karate in 2015)
Post 10-year Anniversary/ Covid Era Part 2 (May 2021-Current) The band is stepping back from live shows due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and focusing on the sale of Merch. Don't let stupid fans fool you the band is not on hiatus or ending. They are idiots and deserves to be made fun of as they’ve been working on new material. Momoko had a very very short stint in a Korean Idol Competition Show called Planet 99. She performed perfectly, better than most of the other girls in the show. She even got the most votes in a small side competition destroying all other 98 girls in the show in votes. This won her some hair dye (She was blonde for a bit). Ultimately be it dumb BM fans thinking the side competition was the actual competition, how the judging was heavily skewed to Korean voters, the fact that her fate was tied to 2 other girls one Korean and one Chinese, and or possibly ridged voting something the company producing the show has done in the past, Momoko was eliminated in the very first round. BM's producer Kei Kobayashi also put out a biography in early September, and all proceeds will go to the Babymetal team not for himself. Once again don't let even more idiot fans fool you the band isn't going broke... This fandom is filled with a lot of them sadly. Recently since April 2022 they've been putting out very tiny snippets of 10 new songs in the works sadly these are just a few second clips.
It was Mikio Fujioka who sadly passed away and he is not playing here. The two guitarists are Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura. Black Night was the second night of the Budokan concerts in March 2014, so Su was 16. The staging was complex with a rotating stage, a stage lift in the center and multiple sets of stairs. It was so complicated that both Yui and Moa had falls. Akatsuki is translated as "Crimson Moon" and it's a Su solo to give Moa and Yui a chance to rest, they then return the favor when the perform as the duo Black Babymetal. I'm sure Moa would be eating chicken backstage if it was available. Suzuka Nakamoto comes from a musical family, both her father and sister are performers, and she went to the Actors School Hiroshima from an early age. At age 10 she was recruited by the Amuse Talent Agency and performed in a short lived trio called "Karen Girls". BM's producer, Kei Kobayashi, heard her preforming with Karen Girls and that was the spark for the idea of Babymetal. When Su joined Sakura Gakuin, Kobayashi became the producer of "The Heavymetal Club, which included Su, Yui and Moa and that eventually became Babymetal. There is a quieter "unfinished" version with just piano instrumentation that Su sang between Headbanger and Babymetal Death in Legend 1997 and now that Su is a little older I wish she'd revisit it. It's done as a ballad to contrast between the energy of "Headbanger" and "Babymetal Death" Here Akatsuki is translated as "Crimson Moon". It's a Su solo and has been out of the setlist for a while now that BM is just Su-metal and Moametal, but they brought it back in the current set of concerts at Budokan Doomsday. I'm really glad they did because the shows are better with Su solos and Akatsuki is one of my favourites. It's a hymn to undying love (or at least keeping it's memory alive) and uses the symbolism of the "red thread" to connect lovers; there's lots of red imagery in the lyrics of this song.
Akatsuki is indeed a ballad but not this version. You can check Akatsuki unfinished version legend 1997 (eng sub). That's the real ballad version. There you can see a different Su-metal. And a completely different performance.
excellent content dude, bro there is loads of baddassery waiting for you deeper in the fox-hole, the "Guide" will answer all your questions about this band, before long you will take a trip to the "Metal Galaxy" and your mind will be blown. enjoy dude, it's a gift from the fox-god. It's a gift that keeps on giving.
Good reaction. If you like this one you gotta check out Rondo of Nightmare with the intro. Su singing solo again and all members of kami band soloing. And also it's a great song.
Something was frying at 2:13 that's for sure. 🙂 2:10 this is how you pronounce it, she says Akatsuki-Da, but the 'u' is silent. So the way you pronounce it is: Akatski.
This is indeed an old video. It was recorded March 2, 2014. Not the first time you reacted to a song from this concert. Yui and Moa were indeed backstage, resting and catching up on some homework. The two guitarists look the same with the long hair? One of them was wearing a wig. Babymetal was build around Su as a subgroup of Sakura Gakuin but not with the expectation to earn money. On the contrary: Nobody expected Babymetal to earn any money, ever. Amuse Inc. did not provide additional funds for Babymetal because they assumed it were a short-lived experiment. The first year (or a bit longer) Babymetal did not have proper costumes but used their own clothes and borrowed ones. Others can and will tell you more about it. Suzuka Nakamoto's background and experience was extensive, even at young age. Available videos prior to Sakura Gakuin feature her as a solo act, as part of a duet with her older sister Himeka (who did not make it in the music industry and works as a mental health councillor), with Actor's School Hiroshima or as part of Karen Girls. The oldest available footage of her on a stage is at the age of 5 ('BABYMETAL-Suzuka Nakamoto-First Performance HD' on channel 'Andy Rethmeier'; nice to watch but not a good one to react to). If you want to watch something old that is at least somehow related to Babymetal, this video is a good place to start: 'Karen Girls My Wings HD' on channel 'The Lazy Viking' Karen Girls consisted of three girls. The youngest was Suzuka Nakamoto at age 10. The other two were 12. Ayami Mutō is a successful vocalist. I think Yuika Shima works on TV now but I could be wrong. In this video you see why the wings in the Babymetal logo are associated with Su. One can react to this video. But it is not a Babymetal reaction. Different group. Different genre. A dance edit exists in addition to the MV. No point watching a live version.
@@LocalBandSmokeout She did get her teeth fixed but there are no images of any kind of her with braces. Sorry if I misinterpreted your comment. She got her teeth fixed sometime between their second and third albums .
Good reaction! It's easy to forget that Su was only SIXTEEN years old and is a tiny 5ft-1in (155cm) singing beast in this video! And they are at the prestigious Budokan arena in Japan. The Beatles, Ozzy Osbourne, Cheap Trick, and Bob Dylan have performed there too. This is one of my most favorite BABYMETAL songs and performances because it is the most badass yet touching songs I have ever heard: "Going over thousands of nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love." 🤘🦊🤘
Great reaction. Time to for you to react to Cryptic Misery’s “Everything you need to know about BabyMetal - A BabyMetal Guide” All of your questions will be answered in an entertaining way.
Nice review, could do without the added sound effects. We can hear you talking so no need to keep stopping the song, it kinda ruins it since we're listening to it at the same time.. but again your review was better than most..
I will take that and we have to mute the song constantly or YT blocks the video. The added sound and graphics are what make my reactions different than the other 726373374 reaction channels out there 😈
good reaction. Su has her solo songs, but Yui and Moa also have their songs without Su. Their duo calls themselves Black Babymetal and deserves that you also react to them. If you decide to react specifically to Onedari Daisakusen, I recommend that you make it from a version where you have the lyrics, because that song without understanding the lyrics stays at 50% (magnificent song by itself, but if you read the lyrics you will understand me hahahahahahaha )
BABYMETAL isn't idea of bunch of collar dudes, it's basically 1 seriously mad dude that get bored with same kind of music wanted something new and fun, he himself didn't even think it will reach this kind of success 🤣🤣😂
Su has 4 solo songs, Atkatsuki, Rondo of Nightmare, No Rain No Rainbow and Amore. Yui and Moa have 4 songs they do without Su. Black Babymetal aka without Su has Song 4, Onedari Daisakusan, GJ and the heaviest of all Babymetal songs Sis Anger.
React to bands with me live 5 times a week = Twitch.tv/LocalBandSmokeout
If you want the full story how Babymetal was created and a lot more details around them, I recommend watching the Babymetal guide by CrypticMisery. The short one is good but tbh I prefer reactors watching the extended version, which is about 40 minutes long but goes in more detail. I am not sure if you seen all the songs that are in it, so if you want to prevent spoilers, you probably need to react to a few more before getting to the guide :)
Btw if you want an even more impressive solo from Su, check out “Rondo of Nightmare” with the Kami band intro from the same show :)
Yes listen to this person! You need to watch it, it will answer most if not all of your questions. For sure worth the watch!
Definitely one of my top 3 songs of all time!
As far as I'm concerned this song is a masterpiece. I actually find myself thinking about this song a lot. Not singing or humming it, but just thinking about it.
I'm glad you liked it! Great reaction, see you in the next one.
_Akatsuki daaaa!_
This is live at Budokan 2014, reaching this huge goal with only 16 and 14 yo, big international artists performed here like The Beatles among many others, so you get the idea how huge is this.
In this song our queen SuMetal is fighting for a love, see the pinky finger she's rising up, that's our promise of neverending love ❤️
Akatsuki (it pronounce almost with the "u" silent) it means "crimson moon" or "red moon", that's why got a homage to "Kurenai" by X-Japan, even the beginning with that shout is a tribute to live version.
I don't think the girls eat during break times, in any case some potassium might help, but if they eat MoaMetal is the one who likes fried chicken and YuiMetal would be eaten tomatoes and cucumbers, she's called tomato princess for a reason 🍅♥️
Ok man see you next time and kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥

To answer your question, BABYMETAL's producer Kei Kobayashi (also known as Kobametal, or just Koba) was a long time Metal head.
A Italian youtuber who is a big fan of BabyMetal gets his friends to watch and react BabyMetal they all seem like music teachers and students and is a performer himself said none of the friends he asked to do the vocals to this song
In a performance would not do it as they said it was to difficult .
Shows how good Su was at just 16 years old 😁 🤘🦊🤘
Top cape work!
BabyMetal is Su's 4th band. I think it went Karen Girls, Tween, Sakura Gakuin then BabyMetal. By the time she was 16 she had like 10ish years of experience on stage.
Tween was in her home town of Hiroshima with her sister, it came before the others.
Yui, on the other hand, was just charging 🤣
"Akatsuki" is my favorite song of all time and this is my favorite live performance.
Ohmura is a total bad ass
Look for the unfinished version from the legend 1997 show.
🤘🦊🤘
Kitsune-Up!!!
At this time, she was 16 years old, but now she is 24 years old, and her singing voice is getting more and more mature and beautiful.
Nice reaction. Su was born to the stage. And Babymetal have been away from their home for far too long. Can't wait for their next album to drop.
I remember it being an abrupt change for Legend S - Baptism XX (December 2017). But it could have been that I wasn't paying attention prior.
She got braces but they were on the inside of her teeth, there are a few pics where you can see them with her mouth wide open and head tilted back.
@@bradkornatowski3866 you know, I did notice that but I didn't know those types of braces existed. Now I know. Cool! Thanks!
@@johnschultz7765 thats the show i noticed the difference 😁
If you love Su's voice then the unfinished version of Akatsuki is a must watch
The producer Koba saw her perform and thought he could form an idol group of heavy music with her in center, then looked for other members to fit with her but nobody was in her level to match. So he changed his mind to bring girls from different aspect.
No, That's Takayoshi Ohmura and he's very much alive. Mikio is the one that passed away and he's not in this video. The other guitarist is Leda cygnus.
Yeah, great reaction, i love BABYMETAL with every my heart!!
Po!
BABYMETAL🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥
BABYMETAL 101
Babymetal is a Japanese group founded in 2010 and produced by Kei “Koba” Kobayashi from the Amuse Inc. talent agency.
Heavy Music Club Era (2010-2012)
From 2010 to 2012 Babymetal consist of a three-member formation, Suzuka Nakamoto (Age 12), Moa Kikuchi (Age 10), and Yui Mizuno aka "Yuimetal" pronounced Yui-Metal.

Babymetal/ Metal Resistance Era (2012-2017)
Starting in 2012 with the Legend I concert, Babymetal began its slow divorce from Sakura Gakuin, and was the first introduction of the Kami Band as well as the “Lore” that is still heavily involved in Babymetal but makes far less sense than it did during this time.

The Dark Times, The Chosen 7 Era (2018)
In December 2017, Yui would miss the Legend-S concert for health reasons, these health problems would prosiest into 2018 and greatly affect the 2018 touring season bring the “Chosen 7” formation, consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto, Moa Kikuchi, and 2 backing dancers Minako Maruyama, and Minami Tsukui.
(Something many idiots within the fandom refuse or are too stupid to understand)
In October Babymetal had a concert called Dark Night Carnival which added dancers, Shoko Akiyama, Saya Hirai, and Kotono, placing a total of seven girls on stage. This was also done without warning to fans and was an absolute mess. Babymetal would finish off the 2018 tour season returning to the 3-member formation with just Saya Hirai joining them in southeast Asia and Australia. Ending one of the most troubling times in Babymetal’s history.

Metal Galaxy Era (2019- Feb 2020)
The current set up was first introduced in 2019 during the Babymetal Arises concert in Yokohama, before the start, the “Avenger” support dancer concept was explained in the lore, and the concept thanks to communication and a maintaining of the 3-member formation brought Babymetal out of dark times brought about during 2018. Babymetal seemed to have returned to its roots with the Avengers, as 2 of the three (Kano and Momoko) come from Sakura Gakuin. The third Riho, went to the same performing arts school as Suzuka during the same time, Actors School Hiroshima aka ASH.

(Avenger confusion)
Which Avenger one sees can be confusing for those new to Babymetal.
COVID Era (Mar 2020 to April 2021)
COIVD-19 has messed up a lot of things for everyone, Babymetal had to cancel their Asian tour, as well their big 10th Anniversary on October 10, 2020.

The band is stepping back from live shows due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and focusing on the sale of Merch.
The most elaborate comment I’ve ever gotten. Thanks so much I appreciate it ❤️🤘
Its a beautiful tragic and striving vibe song
It's done as a ballad to contrast between the energy of "Headbanger" and "Babymetal Death"
Here Akatsuki is translated as "Crimson Moon".
2:10 this is how you pronounce it, she says Akatsuki-Da, but the 'u' is silent.
If you want to watch something old that is at least somehow related to Babymetal, this video is a good place to start: 'Karen Girls My Wings HD' on channel 'The Lazy Viking'
Karen Girls consisted of three girls. No point watching a live version.
so so beautiful 😍💞❤️🥺
Su never had braces
Well her teeth were magically fixed from one video to the next so 🤷♂️
@@LocalBandSmokeout She did get her teeth fixed but there are no images of any kind of her with braces.
So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love." 🤘🦊🤘

good reaction.
