Welcome to The Frey Life daily vlogs! We are Peter & Mary, a married couple in our early 30's, showing the ups and downs of everyday life with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic lung disease that Mary was born with. Yes! He was all in and completely committed to the cause as well! And Elijah was doing his part by continuing to be content while Mom and Dad and Oliver went on a rescue mission to literally tear their house apart to extricate/coax the cat from the wall. 🙄

I had a similar incident! I opened panel in my second-floor bathroom to access my bathtub’s plumbing and see if I could find the source of a leak... my cat went in and was walking through the wall and meowing and then appeared to reach a point where she couldn’t turn around. I was home alone and in a panic, imagining taking out the wall or having her crash through the ceiling. All at once, she calmly turned around and walked out. She still walks in there and meows at that panel, a year later. Apparently one of us had a good time!

Gosh, I thought the same thing! That is a whole new level of frantic! Boys are such fun to raise! And Peter and Mary and so well-suited for such a wild adventure!

Never a dull moment. My friends cat went into a tiny door / access panel to the spa tub. He made his way out but my friend was frantic. He’s a huge black cat. She had to nail it shut. He would get in there anytime he could. Anything she put In front of the panel he would move it.
Oh Harry baby, what an adventure you had! Thank goodness Peter & Mary were able to rescue you! 🙏
My cat got stuck in a street drain once, a complete stranger helped us lift the heavy cement slab up to get him out! 😱🙏

Wow what an adventure! Ollie was like, “Yo little bro, you can’t get into the walls! NOT cool!” I love how he started licking Harry as soon as he got out and Harry was all shaking the licks off like, “Geeze what’s the big deal! I’m ok!”. True brothers for sure. I’m so glad he was ok. This was just training for what kinds of mischief little boys get themselves into. So much for you to look forward to!🤣😂

What a frightening experience to have to go through, Mary & Peter. I can totally relate. A number of years ago, our tabby managed to climb up the furnace and pull himself up inside a small hole in the ceiling of the laundry room. We couldn’t find him anywhere in the house until we went into the laundry room and heard him crying. There he was peering out of the hole at us. I was a frantic mess because we couldn’t convince him to come close enough to our outstretched hands so that we could lift him out. Finally, in desperation, I grabbed the laundry basket and held it under the hole and in he jumped….safe and sound. I am thankful that you found Harry and I am pretty sure that he was happy to see you . Ollie was sure glad to see him! HARRY’S BIG ADVENTURE!! We love you Harry. Now, be a good boy and don’t do that ever again! God bless 🤗❤️❤️🙏🏼😘👶🏼🐕🐱

Glad you got him out. Cats are so curious and can find the weirdest places to crawl into. My sisters cat disappeared and a couple days later, they finally found him squeezed in between some floor boards in an upstairs closet. He was fine, but hungry and ready to get out of that space. 😁👋💖

I'm so glad you found Harry! At the end of a moving day, we couldn't find our cat in our new house. We searched everywhere for him including outside. We went to bed that night very sad thinking we lost the cat. But we woke up through the night to the cat meowing.
It took awhile but we realized he had crawled into the duct work! (Heating vents). We somehow managed to get him out safely 👍🎉

Great job Peter, rescuing Hairy. I had a cat just like Hairy that knew no boundaries. I too had to get him out from a wall, and yes he did it again.
Peter install a mini door where you removed drywall. Trust me he’ll do it again given opportunity.

I’m sure someone else has suggested this but one way I find my cat when I can’t find him is play a video of cats meowing. My cat always comes sprinting from wherever he was hiding. I feel kind of bad because he’s looking for the source of the meows but it’s a quick way to find the cat and not panic looking everywhere for them. Not sure if it works with every cat but it works on my cat every time.

You guys did great in helping him and not just sit back and freaking out. I WOULD HAVE FLIPPED OUT!! I mean full on panic attack-crazy freak out. Which of course in the moment would not have helped but I would have had to calm myself down get him out and then super freak out after.

This had to be so scary, but the way you told the story had me absolutely rolling and laughing my buns off! This whole thing is a fabulous story you always have to share now!
I had a cat once that lept a really long distance to bat at a fly paper. At 2 am.
Cat started tearing around the house trying to get away from the flypaper that was now stuck to her, and ended up completely wrapped in it, with it's back leg stuck up against her body. My husband and I thought someone had broke in. He grabbed a sword off the wall. I grabbed a blanket (thought I could choke someone with it or try to smother them. 🤣🙄)
We caught the cat, got the flypaper off, but the fur was still covered in sticky flypaper residue. Gave the cat it's first 3 baths, in quick succession, in the middle of the night. Sticky crap still would not come off. I think we made a call to Poison Control but they didn't know if the sticky stuff was harmful or not.
So, I called the vet right when they opened at 8am. Told the receptionist that my cat got stuck in flypaper, she breaks out in a round of wild belly laughter, despite her trying to hold it together. She get ahold of herself and tells me she will need to go ask the vet what to do.
She sets the phone down, and pretty soon, through the phone I hear another round of wild belly laughter in the distance. I knew she had told the vet.
When she came back on the line she said that the vet suggested to use mineral oil to try to get the sticky stuff off.
So, I went to the drugstore to get mineral oil. I looked and looked but couldn't find it, so I asked an employee. They said, "Mineral oil is over with the laxatives."
What the actual [beep]?!? But what can I do? So, we smeared and rubbed and smeared and rubbed mineral oil (read laxative) all over our cat, whose body responded the way you'd expect after grooming and ingesting eleventy gallons of laxatives off her still sticky fur!
It was horrible to live through it (and we ALL did live through it with no lasting injuries ). But it makes for a fantastic story to share around a fire!
So glad you had a happy ending!

Oh my gosh - I can’t imagine the pit-in-your-stomach feeling you both must have had! We once “lost” our kitten but eventually found her on the TOP shelf of some upper cabinets in our laundry room. I have no idea how she got in there, but it was terrifying. So glad Harry is safe!

Thank goodness Harry is ok. I cried watching you guys get him out, I could feel your emotions. Fur babies are just as much our babies as human babies.
Harry really didn't seem as bothered/ stressed as you 3 were 🤪 (Mary, Peter and Ollie). He knew you guys would rescue him. Hence, wanting to go back and explore more. Lol Happy everything turned out fine!
Poor Harry. My cat has found her way into the basement ceiling from our laundry shoot. Have had to rescue her so many times. Hopefully I have found the way of keeping her out of there lol. Crazy cats and their curiosity.
Oh Ollie was so sweet, what a scary experience! Sphinx are so very curious and adventurous, and literally have no fear. In fact they seem to lack even basic self preservation. I love them so much.

Where did Harry get into the wall in the first place?
How about filling the hole in the wall with a Ventilation Grill or airconditioning Vent grill plate. Far easier to buy a vent grill, cut the wall hole to fit the vent plate, than repair and paint the wall.
That way if Harry gets back into the wall you just need to remove the plate to retrieve Harry again.

Sounds like our situation at 3:00 in the morning with our new home.. Woke up to something scratching in our bedroom wall.. We spent the next few hours cutting a couple holes in the dry wall... finally we cornered some kind of large rodent, in the bedroom closet wall. Of course its early in morning and sun coming up.. Our friend, was in a glass.. And we headed to the creek in our PJs.. Life is sure interesting!!! Glad everything turned out ok!! Fun story.. Love your channel
You guys have just had all the pet drama this year! Hope this was the last of it. So glad Harry is okay! Funny story about my cat. My husband and I were watching a show on tv (before DVR days) and I got up on a commercial to grab a drink from the fridge. Quickly opened the door grabbed one and then went back to the show. I kept hearing a meow so I went to check it out. It was coming from the fridge. Somehow in the 5 seconds I had the door opened my cat jumped in there without me knowing!

We had to cut through the bottom of a wall next to my kitchen, we heard scratching all the time, well, it wasn’t a cat, but a opossum,,, he must have been in our attic and fell down, happy to got him out
I’m so glad he’s ok! We’re so lucky here in the UK, most houses are stone or brick with no hidden crevices, I heard an awful story about a single lady who was a bit of a recluse falling from her attic into one of these spaces, and passing away as no one knew she was stuck, I’d really look into sealing up any possible way for Harry to get back in there, or anyone else for that matter.
