I have NuvoH2O filters set up before my water heaters (without a bypass), and I'm wondering if the bleach might have a negative effect on the filters?

What if I have a pool connected to the well? How do I make sure the water is filtered?

how do you determine the total depth of the well? you cannot put a tape measure down the well?

use a fishing line with a weight, drop it into bottom of well you will feel the line loosen up when you hit the bottom. at that point mark the line with masking tape at top of well casing. then pull the line out of the casing stretch it out on the ground and measure.

This is the way we know how to do it, I don't think it is within our scope to make suggestions beyond what we have shown here unfortunately.

The most important thing is never drain chlorinated water into your septic system. NEVER! Second is suck up the sediment at the bottom of your well.

how do you deal with the sediment getting sucked up?

OK, after the well is sanitized, the video says to open all faucets and let them run - all that CHLORINATED water goes into the septic..... I am confused.

@@SelfHandledRogue I use the well pump since my outside faucet does not go through the filters in the house. Run a faucet out onto the ground or the driveway where it won't hurt the lawn, if you have one. I agitate the water with a long paddle while it pumps out. When the water runs clear you've done your best.

@@pebelleeb5422 Through the foot valve in the well. Just don't pump it into your septic if you have one.

At risk of sounding like another internet nanny: If you discharge/flush your line disinfectant from a sillcock or pressure tank (to avoid septic damage), make sure your orpingtons or pets dont drink the flush water :) Also, bleach water will likely force critters to the surface, like earthworms, and those chickens will be all over that mess in a hurry...
