Try Digimon Universe Appli Monsters. At first i thought I'd not like it. But the first episode got me hooked. And I've been really enjoying it! The characters are fun. The animation is great. The story so far is amazing! So I really think you should take a look at it. (Plus there is a ship that is pretty much a copy of Diaken.) (Haru x Yuujin if you're curious.)
I personally actually think that the plot is more or less clear by now but I also speculate a lot so I don't know much for sure. So I guess Yggdrassil is the villain who wants Digimon and humans to be separate for good and have no contact at all. So he uses dark Gennai to take advantage of Maki, who is hurt because of her partner dying. Together they cause the reboot to separate the digidestined from their partners. This can also be solved well in Symbiosis, which is two lifeforms living together. Maybe a good connection to how the worlds got connected later, like the ultimate symbiosis. The entire thing with Meiko is not that clear to me. So Meicoomon is a synthetic digimon I guess, that's why it didn't get rebooted. It isn't part of the digital world, it's more like a parasite. Maybe it is a virus somebody tried to get into the digital world. Well since tri 5 is gonna focus on Meiko and Kari tri 6 could focus on the 02 kids, I hope so at least. Maybe Alphamon kinda abducted them to bring them to the digital world to oppose Yggdrassil and they failed? Their failure could be what we saw in tri 1. Oh and there is an interesting theory saying that Meiko has a dark crest, that's why Meikoomon dark digivolved. So tri 5 could be about light and darkness. I know my comment's lacking structure but there's more I need to say. If they are gonna restore the Digimon's memories maybe Tapirmon could be the answer. It sorta controls dreams right, so it has some access to a being's subconsciousness. Maybe, who knows, maybe Tapirmon can share the kid's memories with their partners via dream. I really don't know, there's much to talk about. Personally I love the tri series and I think it's constantly getting better. I love how the kids needed time to get back to their crests. Digimon has always been about the kids trying to regain the traits their crests represent. So much about that, share your thoughts on that and we can have ourselves a nice discussion...
well not sure if you saw the trailers for Symbiosis but it seems that the story is finally entering it's climax... the only thing I'm disappointed bout it is Ophanimon Falldown Mode cuz I want Holydramon... and I really hope that we'll get answers or even see a cameo of the 02 kids at the end of the 5th movie as a cliffhanger or something... Btw Symbiosis comes out on September 30th
Im honestly losing interest in the tri series. I mean with Meiko being a huge focus i feel like the whole Taichi being scared issue from reunion wont be brought up again. Honestly i was hoping they would bring up the Zero two kids at some point.
I think Digimon Tri may end up like Lost: a bunch of questions raised during the show and not a single one answered in the end. We're 4 movies out of 6 in already and I can't understand what the fuck is going on. It seems like a bunch of fanservice, with all the Mega Evolutions for the Digimons that didn't go that far in he first anime and all the clear couples that are being made. It could be so much better if they had a somewhat clear and better oriented plot. I have to disagree a bit on the matter of Mei, though. She seems to me more like a troubled character with the whole divide of loving her partner while also having to fight and support her at the same time than a special snowflake. Of course, if she did more than just crying and running after Meicoomon and had some development instead, she'd be a way better character. Still, I somewhat hope for the best in the next two movies. All problems aside, I'm still having fun with this.
I hate the whole yiggdrasil and genai thing they over use the plot in to many season and it's the worst plot ever , I freaked out tho when we found out diago and now I really want diago and his partner to come save the day and also want to know more about what happened to bakumon. , and I really thought mei was really good in this film it's the first time I liked her in the whole series. , and my many complaint is were the hell is my sweet 02 kids I miss ken and Davis and the others too

since Digimon tri started I had a feeling 02 kids would appeared until that last film just so the focus would be on the originals.
