Living in Portland most my life and as a Blazer and Lillard fan, this is the time for Lillard to go get his ring with Miami. Portland couldn’t get it done and didn’t build the team needed around him. I want to see Dame win a title and will cheer him on in Miami. Go Blazers.

I agree Heat need a reliable second option is number one piority, then its size. Although they were out sized and got a beat down during the Final, they actually still defended really well. They just werent able to score, because Bam and Jimmy got locked down.
If Dame came to MIA, he would be the #1 scoring option. He’s just offensively Better than Jimmy. He might not be the leader, but he’ll be their top scorer.

The problem with the heat is it's easy to predict where the ball is going, of course it will be with jimmy, the defense is focused on him, but with dame's help the defense will collapse once they dont know who will shoot
When he said dame would be the first option on Miami, it just randomly reminded me of the 2021 playoffs when Dame scored 55 points and they lost that game 😭😭 hopefully dame can get traded to a winning team

The problem is that they don't have contender talent. We saw that manifest in the Finals. Outside of Bam and Butler, and maybe Duncan and Vincent... that roster is a shambles. Moreover, they won't be able to keep everybody and add Dame. Also... they definitely still need to add some size somewhere.

I lived in Portland 11 years of my life and went to over 200 games. Dame has been loyal and such a great player for the organization but maybe its time for him to leave. With 8 days tell the draft, I don’t want dame to leave but it will help the Blazers so much. I wish Dame could play with Scoot just for a few games and see how good they are together. We will see??

@@brianingle799 Size is part of the equation to success. Its one of the major components of success. If it were not a major issue then why is the NBA world salivating at the prospect of Victor Wembanyama? Size is important and should factor into any equation of success for basketball.
@@dojo2157 that was my point. It’s a part of the equation, not the entirety of the equation. You give something, you lose something. Heat is middle of the pack on roster size. It is what it is. Doesn’t HAVE to be fixed.
@@brianingle799 Size is an issue when it comes to Damian Lillard. Adding him to the Heat roster would make size an issue for the Heat to address if they want to be successful. That is why trading for Lillard does not make sense for the Heat when they are already undersized. So in order to make it make sense the Heat have to also factor in size when they fill out the roster. If they want to be successful lol.

It makes sense, but given Dame does not have a NMC clause (in other words, the Blazers have leverage), they can get way better offers from almost any other team out there, including those other 3 mentioned on the podcast Dame was on. Beal to Miami is way more likely given he has a NMC and thus can negate any trade he doesn't like, giving Miami way more leverage.

Someone like Demar DeRozan is a much more realistic target for the Heat. He's also turning 35 and on his last year so he will be available at a discount where you get to keep Herro. Heat mainly made it to the finals because of their clutch plays, adding someone like DeRozan could definitely get them over the hump

As a Portland native I support Dame in whatever he does. He has been so loyal to us for so long and his loyalty deserves to be rewarded. I hope he stays in PDX though.
Look at our salary cap. Look how many players we are paying that are not even in the league anymore. Now look at Denver and Phoenix. We need to trade Dame to a contender in exchange for like a Ben Simmons bad contract and some future draft picks. That leaves an already interesting youth group combined with the number 3 pick for us and Dame with a real shot at a title. Then when we shed the anchor contract we will also be out from under the buyouts and have real cap flexibility and hopefully bring him back past his prime to retire as a Blazer. If we keep him at this point all we are doing is guaranteeing he won't get a championship.

But other things also fell into place with the other players--a hodgepodge group of cast-offs, misfits, and veterans who all came together, played like a strong, cohesive, well-coached team. You have to recognize the Heat as a team played beautiful, selfless basketball. What a thing to behold. Two teams in the Finals that play TEAM BALL? I love this game!

I started following Nba recently and I hate this trade system. It lock's players to move, it lock's teams to trade and then there is cap and max contract stuff which is bs. I would choose football's (soccer for Americans) player buying system. I think with that way we could see better teams and players like Lillard, Butler, Luka, Ja(before gun stuff ofc) or CP3 which really deserves rings could get a real shot at the title. Can someone inform me why the current system is there and what's good with it?

As both a Blazer and Dame fan my gut says they will trade him. The 2 guards that really complement Dame's weaknesses in this league are Butler and Hart. When we had Hart we played him at SF.... The second we traded Hart I felt like the Lillard era was over in Portland. I hope we trade him to Miami for Lowry, Robinson and some picks. If we wreck Miami's supporting cast in the process we aren't giving up our best PG ever to get him a ring are we? If Portland gets their value back in dubious contracts and future picks this is a win/win.
