This channel is seriously my #1 choice for informative fishing videos. The in depth content is amazing, the presentation isn't boring, and you get straight to the point! Can't stand the whole V-Log crap all the other guys are doing. Most of us just want to learn, and not about what you did with your Aunt Beatrice on Tuesday night. Thank you 100x over for keeping this channel strictly educational based.
Went out this morning, June 22, 2019 after following you from prespawn to early summer. Private community with nine lakes/ponds. Lakes are covered with thick moss but clarity is brackish. Tossing the Ribbit Frog in various colors and completely destroyed it!! Vintage Shimano chronarch, 25# all braid on a Shimano medium-fast 6'6" rod. Two hours in the morning brought 8 fish, including my PB. 21" long 14" around belly and my fist could fit easily in her mouth. Went out at 7:30p for another 45 minutes and slammed 5 more, total today 13! And this is going to happen all summer! Thanks for all the tips, your channel is awesome!!!
Matt excellent education on frogs! Nothing like the top water frog bite! That spectacular visual and the noise of the frog getting walloped' ... nothing like it ... and brings a huge smile to my face every bite.
Frogging!! I've loved frogging and pretty much all top water fishing from the very first blow up I ever got. I was a twitch and stop throw into cover and on top of mats guy till I watched a few of Tactical bassin's frogging videos. I'm walking my frog now and the blow ups have been amazing this summer open water, mats, thick pads, grass lines you name it if I'm throwing the frog I've got 100% confidence im putting a fish or 2 in the boat. Thank yall for all the informative videos.
I reviewed this again. I just bought a new rod and reel for froggin’. I can’t wait for thaw to come. Your guys info is always so incite full. Thank you
I was wondering why you guys released this video so late in the morning... its because I'm in the midwest traveling (Im from Ca)....then i realized, "What am I doing watching TB when on a business trip!?" and realised in my realization that you guys are just that awesome! lol. Awesome tips as always! keep it up!
Everything I needed to know about Frogs. Made my decision making when it came to “What Frog do I need?” ALOT easier! Thanks, T-B!!! Keep these awesome videos comin’!!!
A blue frog is a must for me. There are a ton of these baby blue dragon flys around me that I've seen the bass key on above everything else ceartin times of year. Great videos guys.
Thanks for that. I had one day a few years back where I was watching bass...not just little ones either...leaping out of the water hitting those blue dragonflies and I couldn't get them to bite ANYTHING. I never would have thought to use a blue belly frog, but I'll add that to my list.
My girlfriend was so impatient when fishing, so I gave her one of my nicest frogs and I threw on one of my cheap frogs so she wouldn't get mad at me for getting too many bites.... 4th cast she got slammed and didn't know how to set the hook, so I showed her how to let em have it. Now she can't stop using frogs, and has never taken that frog off all because she got bit just once.... I want to watch her nail a huge fish!!!!
Og Bqze it's hard to get someone else into bassin when the bites tough. It's hard for us to realize ppl don't want to sit for hours for maybe 1 bite. Sounds like you did it right haha
My PB was with a frog on lilly pads. Your tips were spot-on. In all the years I've been throwing frogs, I've never used a blue one. I'm going to buy a couple of types & try them out. Thanks.
Favorite channel on you tube , you guys work hard and you should know how much people appreciate what ya'll do! I defianatly agree with 99 percent of what you use and represent. Champion boat check . shimmano reels check . powerfishing check. Down here in louisiana you have to have a frog tied on to catch the big ones!!!! Dont leave home without one! Keep the informarion comming matt!
Thanks for the quality videos. This is the best frog video I’ve seen out there and gives a ton of clarification. Y’all have the top bass fishing TH-cam videos by far.
I caught my PB of 9.7 out in open water, its the fish on my youtube profile picture. I have learned so much from watching your videos, and have caught some huge fish from doing what i learned from you guys! In the past 3 weeks alone ive caught a 5.4 a 6.2 and a 7.14! When i talk to other fishermen in my state they think im lieing! Haha
Matt Allen you are so right. I keep a black frog tied on year round but i use a black and chartruse. My dedicated frog rod is a 7'3" M/H but i have a H for back up. Frogging isnt hard, you just gotta tie 1 on and keep fishing it. I keep a rod with a weightless trick worm on stand by for missed strikes as well.
Best fishing channel on TH-cam. I’ve learned more from you guys in one video than I have from other people’s entire channels. How do you not have a mil subs🤔
Good shit Matt. Personally I don’t frog fish but this information is very valuable to anyone that already uses this technique or is getting into it. Thanks again for another home run.
Love frogs. Got my 2 biggest fish on them. I'll throw it in open water vs cover about 50/50. And I have 2 3700 boxes full of them. One with regular frogs and one with popping & other styles. And just about every color. Lol that was the bait that got me hooked on bass fishing. Good info!
My main question though, I have gotten really good frog bites early morning, but what should I do during the day because here in Florida the water temp will change as the sun gets higher, and I still get blow ups but they aren’t as violent as early morning and they miss more, wondering if I should slow down or speed up and if I should change styles of frogs because I still find them in the same areas, shallow water in heavy grass and pads
I've been wearing them out with frogs this year. Have a tatula full cork frog rod for the thick stuff and a dobyns 705 for the open water frogs. Both have fx 2 60lb braid and lews super duty reels. Can cast 50+ yards when I need to. Trying a lot of new frogs this year. Jackall favacho, kaera, molix sneaky, supernato, deps slither k, notes nf60 and more
7:48 exactly why i was a bit put off by the new live target popping frog. The hook diameter and barb size are tuna worthy. Does what it needs to. But man is that hook ridiculously overly stout. I wish it used the same hook as the live target frogs (which is my preferred do all)
I caught my new PB on a R2S bully wa in the little allen cover a few weeks ago. Seriously love the info you guys put out vs all the bs that's out there
I've been loving the savage gear lily ninja as of late. It's easy to walk, soft, durable (been using one for two years now), great castability, hookup ratio is amazing, and it's cheap.
Epic information!!!! Thanks for breaking it down to the different frog 🐸 types to the different rods and even hooks set up!! Another amazing content vid for me to try. Still a noob trying, but getting killer results cuz of you two!!
No offense to ol tim I still love him but Matt's videos are so much better lol plus i really dig the longer vids so much knowledge to soak up! Thanks guys keep up the awesome work
Thanks for the tips. I love frog fishing. It's the first and last thing I throw every time I go fishing. There is nothing like it. Every time I throw a frog out my heart starts pounding in anticipation of what's going to happen. The other thing I love about frogs is because they are truly weedless they are great to teach young kids how to fish.
Man you have a great channel. I’m new to it but you’ve touched on everything I’ve had questions about and elaborated perfectly. Thanks for your efforts.
thanks much always wondered this one..just now kinda getting into frogging..i know im late lol I frogged plenty just without the frog I normally swim a weightless worm or throw a fluke.
The Deps basirisky is a frog that offers something different from the frogs presented here. You might wanna check it out if you haven't already. It's got a different walking action thats more like a frog actually walks. Anyway, great stuff!
very informative video. Ive been leaning towards the Sebile pivot frog though this year better hook up ratio and the weighted hook makes for longer casts especially in the wind
I'm partial to the Booyah Padcrasher. I don't have much access to the others ones being in Canada. The Sprinker is also DEADLY. Caught my new PB on it a few weeks ago, the fish in my profile pic.
Got one on the booyah poppin pad crasher yesterday First blow up got a hookup just using a medium heavy rod the hooks are smaller than some so they go in pretty well
Great tips! 65# test may seem like overkill, but I certainly wish we had superlines when I was younger, anything over 20 - 25 pound test felt like you were throwing anchor line. My biggest pike was 41 inches and around 17 pounds, I hooked it in a lily pad weed bed and it must have had another 15 - 20 pounds of weeds on the line, if you can give yourself an advantage? use it!
Once again you guys are putting out some awesome content! I was curious as to if you all have tried the Terminator Walking Frog? That's always been my go to and was wondering your thoughts on it?
an i frog with a Dobyns 735c which is a mag/hvy an it's pretty stout but not a broom stick, also frog with a Duckett 7'3" heavy when I'm froggin more sparse cover or walkin frogs in open water
my most expensive setup is dedicated to frogs, its more expensive than my swimbait setup. i use a 7'6 abu garcia frog specific rod paired with the revo rocket and power pro or stren braid. and the only frogs i use are the pad crasher and its popping version. their amazing frogs especially with them being under 7$
i watched this morning and made sure i throw some frogs in the boat and had a blast.. what do you think about some of the soft plastic frogs without the pre mfg hooks... Ribbit's
I have noticed Bamabass uses mono with his frogs and does very well. I have always used braid with frogs but has anyone used mono in open water situations? Thoughts on this?
I've been using the dobyns Serra line and they are outstanding would like to pick up a champion line to see what difference there is Matt can you shed some light on there difference in models
@TacticalBassin (Matt), 2 questions; 1) have you tried a 7'4" zillion extra heavy? 2) In your opinion ... why does Dean Rojas use a 7' MH for his frogging?
While we're on the topic of topwater, what would you say is the advantages of having something different like the pro tuned rover or vixen compared to a regular spook like strike king makes that everyone is throwing?
I dunno if its just me but Ive never had much luck with frogs. Including the Sprinker. The fish never seem very interested in them. I have had luck with the whopper plopper and a little frog Ive got the has almost like a buzz blade on the front of it though.
I'm fishing from a kayak , I understand I need a extra heavy rod but would I want to go with a short rod . after watching your video I try froggen . Had a lot of action but fell short on hook Up's
Hey Matt and Tim. I know this video was made a while ago but I was wondering about some things. I primarily fish from a kayak or just from the bank. I want a dual purpose frogging and flipping/pitching rod. I’ve heard good things about it but I’m not sure if things change a bit when fishing from a kayak and I know you have limited experience with kayak fishing but maybe you could help. Thanks a bunch!

What about koppers Live Target? Also Terminator walking frog is good.....but my favorite is Lunker Hunt!!! U guys have to try it, the legs are super real!!!!! And yes the tekel sprinker is bad!!! I have one more straight retrieve...the horny toad or buzz style frogs are killer!
Guys please try out the terminator frog made by rapala if you already havent and let me no what you think. I just got heavy into frog fishing a couple years ago and bought every frog on the market and just couldnt get them to walk. Until i found that terminator frog. It walks so so easy and everything else about the frog seems to be right on point.and one quick question what knot do you use for walking a frog, loop knot or just a reg. Knot like a palomar or something else.
I can vouch for the Fury 735 frog rod for people who want a more inexpensive frog rod. More than gets the job done and can double as a heavier jig rod for us budget guys who want plenty bang for your buck
You know it's going to be a good day when you pull up youtube and the first thing you see is a brand new 20 minute froggin' video from Tactical Bassin
This channel is seriously my #1 choice for informative fishing videos. The in depth content is amazing, the presentation isn't boring, and you get straight to the point! I owe you guys a huge thank you. You’ve taught me so much over the years helping me become a better angler and landing more fish. Thank you.
aw yeah! The Gavacho Frog has absolutely been my favorite popping frog over the past year. So versatile and wide range of pop!
Frogging!! I've loved frogging and pretty much all top water fishing from the very first blow up I ever got. Alex Rudd Fishing The same thing at my pond in the dead of summer
Dragon flies everywhere at my spot too. Lots of bright red ones.
Andrew G Yea i have blue and black ones
I see a TON of blue dragon flies on the CA delta, I'll have to try out a blue one!

This is terrific, Matt. I know for some folks this is just reiteration but frogs are one of the most difficult baits to get 'right'.
Favorite channel on you tube , you guys work hard and you should know how much people appreciate what ya'll do! I defianatly agree with 99 percent of what you use and represent. Spro Poppin bronzeye 65 is my goto frog . The "freak" color has been the best for me!
My favorite rod for frogging is a 7’4” duckett triad heavy! Using 65 pound suffix braid and a 7:1:1 gear ratio
You guys should do a video on fishing around wood cover!! Shallow, medium, deep, wood cover is always finding a way to snag my hook here in the south.
2:09 exactly. So much nonsense regurgitation on youtube...
Frog Fishing is AWESOME!! I love fishing the mats super slow and getting those huge hits
TB is the best fishing channel on TH-cam!
Greatings from good old germany :D

The gar down here in Florida love a topwater frog, they seem to miss more often, but they can't seem to resist trying to hit it
I've waxed some nice ones on the Frog open water 7-foot medium-heavy action 50 pound braid you got the best tips and tricks bud appreciate it much
Would you be able to do a tutorial of replacing the frog hook on a ewg hook?
I've been loving the savage gear lily ninja as of late. It's easy to walk, soft, durable (been using one for two years now), great castability, hookup ratio is amazing, and it's cheap.

Love using a frog 30 minutes before sundown, it is awesome! I use Spro & Strike King frog's.
Thanks for the tips. I love frog fishing. It's the first and last thing I throw every time I go fishing. There is nothing like it. Every time I throw a frog out my heart starts pounding in anticipation of what's going to happen. Bro i loved this video. You did a VERY good job at explaining details about the frogs. Appreciate it and i look forward to learning more from you!
Just want to say that your videos are awesome and very informational. Keep up the good work and thanks for the knowledge.
Love your videos. I’ve learned so much and caught more fish because of them. Keep it up!
Cool ! Thanks ! I love the way you explain things ...you explain the mechanics involved in all of your videos !
Thanks for the tip for us short people. I’m 5’3”, now I know what rod to try.
I love throwing poppers so I think I should try some frog fishing! Thanks for the videos.
Man you have a great channel. I’m new to it but you’ve touched on everything I’ve had questions about and elaborated perfectly. Thanks for your efforts.
can't beat a frog this time of year

thanks for another great video! loved the simplification of the colors!!
Great video Matt, tons of good info on froggin - keep em comin man, thx for the hard work.
I absolutely love everything you guys do!!! Thank you for teaching me so many valuable tips!!!
O dear the frog! The Frog bite addiction is real!
Have you done a video on how to change the hooks on the frogs
Matt talking frogs? I’m all in! Any thoughts on Ish’s Snag Proof frogs and the inner tube technology?
very informative video.
Got one on the booyah poppin pad crasher yesterday
First blow up got a hookup just using a medium heavy rod the hooks are smaller than some so they go in pretty well
Booyah padcrasher and padcrasher jr is one of my go tos in smaller ponds
Keenan Moore I'm in Toronto Ontario Canada. The pad crusher is my go to.
Frogs are awesome! I caught a 3 foot alligator on a spittin’ wa the other day.
Thanks for all the great videos! I’ve learned a ton from you all!
Great tips! 65# test may seem like overkill, but I certainly wish we had superlines when I was younger, anything over 20 - 25 pound test felt like you were throwing anchor line. JDsSportsRoom I'd like to see that too!
Once again you guys are putting out some awesome content! I was curious as to if you all have tried the Terminator Walking Frog? That's always been my go to and was wondering your thoughts on it?
Amazing this *video* congratulations Fisherman!👍🎣
So when would you guys throw the king daddy vs the bully wa, vs the small frog like the spro bronze eye jr ?
Never fail for great information
I've really enjoyed throwing the Evergreen ss soft shell frog lately, and the Deps Buster K.
an i frog with a Dobyns 735c which is a mag/hvy an it's pretty stout but not a broom stick, also frog with a Duckett 7'3" heavy when I'm froggin more sparse cover or walkin frogs in open water
Great info as always Matt. Thumbs up!! Thank You.
Matt how do you change out hooks on sprinker frog? Thanks!
Great video, watched it all the way threw. Good lay out and details
my most expensive setup is dedicated to frogs, its more expensive than my swimbait setup. i use a 7'6 abu garcia frog specific rod paired with the revo rocket and power pro or stren braid. and the only frogs i use are the pad crasher and its popping version. their amazing frogs especially with them being under 7$
another great vid Matt! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Don’t get me wrong I love these educational videos, but I’m ready to see one of those crazy edits that Tim creates. Naw mean!
You guys should do a review on the boom boom frog
Ahhhh yes, frogs....
The baits most responsible for the “aw man...I missed him! He was huge!” moment.
i watched this morning and made sure i throw some frogs in the boat and had a blast.. what do you think about some of the soft plastic frogs without the pre mfg hooks... Ribbit's
I have noticed Bamabass uses mono with his frogs and does very well. I have always used braid with frogs but has anyone used mono in open water situations? Thoughts on this?
I use a 6'4" heavy and I have no problem plus I'm alot more accurate but I'm also on shore and usually don't have much casting room....at all
I've been using the dobyns Serra line and they are outstanding would like to pick up a champion line to see what difference there is Matt can you shed some light on there difference in models
I’m thinking about buying a 7’0 Heavy Fast action Carrot Stix rod and a Abu Garcia 7:3:1 revo x reel for a frog setup
Thanks, good information. How do you tie your frog to braid?
You should try the pro z popping frog that is the best popping frog I’ve ever used
@TacticalBassin (Matt), 2 questions; 1) have you tried a 7'4" zillion extra heavy? 2) In your opinion ... why does Dean Rojas use a 7' MH for his frogging?
Have you guys ever used a buzzin warmouth?
Another great vid, awesome job.
Thanks for the tips. But when/what conditions would you use each colour (white, black, Chartreuse)?
I'm fishing from a kayak , I understand I need a extra heavy rod but would I want to go with a short rod . after watching your video I try froggen . Had a lot of action but fell short on hook Up's
Hey Matt and Tim. I know this video was made a while ago but I was wondering about some things. I primarily fish from a kayak or just from the bank. I want a dual purpose frogging and flipping/pitching rod. You said in your flipping and pitching video that using a frog rod for flipping and pitching isn’t unheard of. walking a frog from a kayak is kind of hard from a kayak and you sort of need to side arm it if that makes sense. I’m looking at the Dobyns fury 735c. I’ve heard good things about it but I’m not sure if things change a bit when fishing from a kayak and I know you have limited experience with kayak fishing but maybe you could help. Thanks a bunch!
Hey guys can you do a video about how you change a frog hook from stock to after market brands like you do with the sprinker frog I have never seen any body on TH-cam do a video on how to do that I think it would be a good resource for new frog fisherman like me that would be much appreciated thanks you guys are the best fishing TH-cam channel out there I have been subscribed cense you have had only like 34,000 subs

Knot like a palomar or something else.
Awesome tips like always!!! you guys really rock! thanks!
Fantastic video as usual.
As I catch a 4 on a bully wa 2 65 little Allen on a shimano exage MH 😂. I admit I should buy my first actual heavy stick for frogging and punching.
Thanks for the knowledge I will catch a fish on a frog this weekend
Evolve pulse frog destroys here in Eastern WA. Good luck finding one though, discontinued.
I can vouch for the Fury 735 frog rod for people who want a more inexpensive frog rod. More than gets the job done and can double as a heavier jig rod for us budget guys who want plenty bang for your buck
Hunter Smith you can cast a decent distance tho right? Cuz I'm about to buy one and fish from the bank
loads well so if youre throwing appropriately sized baits with a decent reel then yes!
Would you guys ever do a meet in greet with your fans?
