2:16:00 This mission is super fun to play. I remember first time playing on this map and going mass dark archons mind controlling more and more units. This is mission for people with less than 80 APM, the entire base is nicely design theres plenty of room to put towers. I spent hours on this mission and it felt really good to capute enemy shuttles with stuff. This map is 10/10 for introduction of Dark Archon.
Regarding the damage formula, it is always (damage - armor) / unit size modification. Armor is actually WORSE than shields when comparing damage reduction. Each shield upgrade will reduce the damage a zealot receives from a hydralisk by 1 while each armor upgrade reduces that damage by .5. The base armor protoss units have, along with generally having more HP than shields combine with the significantly higher cost is why we see armor before shields. That base armor is not to be underestimated, especially against zerglings. Reducing damage from 5 to 4 is good, but from 4 to 3 is better. Its a pity plague ruins protoss armies, though there are actually pro games where we see 3/2/1 instead of 3/3/0 for just that reason. (It also goes in to 3/3/2 so much faster.)
Armor is not worse than shields when comparing damage reduction. Although each point of armor reduces the total damage taken by 0.5 instead of 1, half as much, it's also working from a base damage of half as much, so the total fraction of damage taken is reduced by the same amount. More importantly, the relevant metric isn't damage reduced per hit taken, but total time to die. With the base 1 armor and no upgrades on the small-size 60 shield, 100 hp zealot, and assuming massed fire from multiple attackers (so no time to regenerate shields), it takes 6 hydralisk shots to break the shields and 23 more shots to deplete the zealot's hp. Adding +1 shield upgrade increases the number of shots to break the shields by only 1, to a total of 7 with 1 damage bleeding over onto health after the 1 armor and half damage. However, that 1 damage is also the rounding error that brings the number of shots on hp down from 23 to 22; against 29+ hydralisks firing simultaneously, having +1 shields doesn't actually change the number of shots before the zealot dies. By contrast, +1 armor instead increases the number of shots on hp by 2 to 25, increasing the total number of hits the zealot can take to 31. In typical scenarios, shield upgrades are slightly better than this, as a unit will usually have time to regenerate at least one point of shields during even a pitched battle, giving the shield damage reduction a chance to apply to an additional attack. Additionally, the zealot's numbers do line up perfectly to minimize the contribution of shields in this specific scenario.
@@Garryl367 Armor is worse than shields in terms of damage reduction. 1 > .5. Armor is better than shields in terms of PERCENT damage reduced (outside of probes). Armor is (outside of archons) better than shields in terms of survivability. I could have been much clearer on this point in my original comment. The zealot example is more concisely explained by 1 damage reduction on 7 attacks is worse than .5 damage reduction on over 20 attacks. This is another point I should have been clearer on. As a side note, Brood War actually tracks decimals for HP while displaying whole numbers.
Aldaris is the og backwards cutscene dude. Aldaris, Yagdra and Alarak. upd: I adore the minimap in Starcraft 1. Usually it has an amazingly big ping(updates slowly), but when something is built or attacked(not killed) the minimap has these zooming in squares and the update rate suddenly becomes really high. That's awesome in a way!
it is a wonder.... if the protoss here can destroy the overmind "sending it into remission" why can't they just kill it with dark templar? I don't remember if they ever say it.
@@Vicioussama I imagine that Tassadar was so powerful and that his melding of templar and dark templar energies so masterful that charging it through the protoss supercarrier in a suicide attack was enough. I'm not sure the rest had his skill and resources. It's also possible that the overmind wanted to die (and so did not struggle for survival too much) and that the new one desperately wanted to live.

the only thing i dont understand in this run is why you didnt use corsairs instead of cannons for defence since they cant attack ground at least where you get them for free
1:58:30 To be fair, as a kid I used to think Ultras looked like elephants, or atleast the non-remastered portrait of ultras
That Hallucinate Artanis strat was gold. Just an army of illusory heroes taking the heat while little swordy boys poke the generator to death.
Seeing creep in your protoss base gives me the same uncomfortable feeling I get when my foods are touching on my plate.

Artanis is a Zealot in a Scout so all the Artanis hallucinations are legit
Zeratool became kind of sus when he said *_"Among Us"_*

Dragonns in SC1 piloted by injured Zealots just like Fenix sad after he gets a dragoon shell :). Good job Grant
Chadlot is so awesome that creep didn't recede from them. Creep wants to be Chadlot's friend
Those zealots weren't stuck because of the buildings, they were stuck because of the probe!
Terrible idea: SC1-SC2 speedrun with Marines, Zerglings, Zealots and Stalkers only
That's a terrible and evil idea and I love it
HERC only Nova 5

Starcraft 1 is definitely a videogame.
Just like Among Us.

that peninsula is basically where I put a lot of my upgrade structures/excess pylons just so they aren't in the way lol.

At 1:51:00, the arbiter attacked a goliath. Only fault I've seen in this majestic run.
probes were involved in attack in Aldaris missson

In fallout new vegas you have a snowy area. Also fallout 4 has better looking enviroments.
I hate his logic with the shuttle? You can only build 1 why? You used tons of overlords when doing zerlings only
