Many, many years ago I flew JAL First Class from Narita to San Francisco. Very nice flight. JAL cabin crew met every need of me and my fellow passengers. I had a first class seat at the front of the B747 and what was really nice was a curtained bed on the upper deck. Slept great, awakened by flight attendant and served a meal back at my seat. Along time ago but I will never forget Japan Air Lines and this flight.
I went to the Philippines via japan airlines business class with my mom because my dad gave up his ticket to be in economy instead of first class. I really enjoyed the japanese meals/snacks i had on the way to the Philippines. Mind you, I took another plane to get to our final destination. I have to say, business class in japan airlines was one of the best experiences I’ve had. Thank you for the great videos with good captions!
My dad flew me first class from Korea to Seattle with a transfer in Tokyo when I was 12 or something in the late 90’s. He drew me a map on a napkin because I was flying solo to get through the air ports. Different times indeed. I remember Haagandas, caviar and a little rose inside of a plastic sealed vase. Very comfy pillows as well. Cool experience.
Damn apparently I'm not the only one, exept that personally my flight was in business and I was only 7yo, because of my young age and the fact my mom chose air france, I was in a group of few kids and a flight attendant accompained us to the airplane. That was a strange feeling to be the only folk heading to the front of the plane cuz the flight attendent littlerally left the other kids going to their seats by themselves for me to get guided to mine. (I also had a transfer at Paris and during the first short flight I made some new friends because the only class in the a320 I took was economy, then I had to leave my new friends few hours later xd)
idk about international but even now you have to be at least 12 to fly solo for domestic flights depending on the airline. Which is honestly insane lmao. I wouldnt trust my kid to the entire world pretty much, they bound to get kidnapped.
I'd love to take a super long flight in a first class suite some time. The combination of just being super high above ground, going at 500 mph and just chilling, watching TV in a comfy seat is so relaxing

Very nice. Brings back memories of the Army bringing us home from Korea in 1978 on a Tiger Airlines charter flight - knees up to our chins. But we were young and flexible - and coming home after a year - so we were just glad to be on the plane.
🤣🤣🤣🤣... You were lucky. I missed my Port-Of-Call fight to Korea in 80, and had to take a Hop on a C-5 Galaxy Cargo plane. Talk about knees to the chin, canned sea-rations for meals, no windows and stuck in a tiny seating area at the very top of the plane's fuselage, where we had to literally climb a ladder to enter... That felt like the endless flight to HELL. 😤😤😤🥴😵💫🫡 #USAF

I am half European and half American and have flown across the world on various airlines. I must confess that First Class on Asian flights is the BEST! Passenger comfort and pampering is a number ONE priority.
Ah I do miss Japan! Even the inflight food is so good! Shucks, I should not have watched this so late in the night. Now, I am craving for some Japanese food.
I was surprised at how happy I was to see you coming in to land at Narita. It was dark when I landed there a few years back, but the thought of going back to Japan excites me so much. I loved every moment I was there. First class is way too expensive for me, but we managed to get first row seats by an emergency exit and had about six feet of leg room. That made the 14 hour flight tolerable!

Flew from Frankfurt to Narita last month with Japan airlines (~$2250), even though I was in economy the service and food are incredible. Simply wonderful.

I had a good laugh at the "American Small" Salad! If it helps, a lot of the places you eat out at give you big portions since you're expected to take food home as leftovers. But it seems a bit silly to do the same when you're getting on a plane!

It's insane how just a few hundred years ago this journey was impossible for a normal human, and would have still taken months if you had huge amounts of money. Nowadays you can just vibe, eat delicious food and sleep. 12 hours and boop, half the world behind your back. Never ceases to amaze me
Oh well yeah, but beleive or not I still fear the twelve hour part of the journey. THe maximum for me has been about right hours. Only once. I was very nervous that only one time since I usually travel around 6 or 5 . So, it´s still unknown to me this route, maybe someday (If I can beat the fear)

A few dreamt about it happening one day but most people dismissed the idea as fantasy and undoable. I'm waiting for flying cars, like everyone else is.
Back in 1999 I flew Honolulu and Narita r/t on a JAL 747-400 and seated in seat 1A. Though not having full on First-class amenity service cubicle seating and excellent service from the flight staff made the flight my best ever. Worst ever flight customer 'service' was with TWA back in the last 60's. They're long gone. Perhaps others had the same experiences as me.
I have no idea when the last time you've flown was, but these days the major airlines have turned the experience into something akin to a Greyhound Bus with wings.
@@Doodlesthegreat Steve, thanks for your comment. I think I'm lucky that most travelers to and fro Hawaii are in a generally pleasant mood. Flight cancellations are rare but are quickly accommodated. Pre-Covid, I would travel to the Mainland at least four times a year; Vegas, Denver, and Tucson. When entering the aircraft I would smile and say hi to the greeting flight attendant and others that I pass to acknowledge them. I think they deserve respect but a benefit is that I often get extra positive attention.

People used to be able to bring drinks onto an airplane. Especially bottled water. It still seems strange they do not allow that anymore.

Насколько я понял, в первом классе ты можешь бесконечно много еды заказывать. Также в этом классе безлимитный интернет, но капец медленный. В общем, действительно роскошный перелёт.

I'm surprised First Class didn't offer Limousine service to get you to the plane and made you ride the bus! Or did they offer it and you chose to go with the chaotic option 😅
That’s usually only a thing for airlines at their main hubs, like Delta at ATL, Air France at CDG, or Lufthansa at FRA.
i used to ride with arnold schwazenegger in a crowded bus full with people sitting in economy. not all offer limousine

Flew from Frankfurt to Narita last month with Japan airlines (~$2250), even though I was in economy the service and food are incredible. Simply wonderful.
Seems like Service is still real with Japan I cant wait to fly with them soon :)

If it helps, a lot of the places you eat out at give you big portions since you're expected to take food home as leftovers.
But it seems a bit silly to do the same when you're getting on a plane!

It's insane how just a few hundred years ago this journey was impossible for a normal human, and would have still taken months if you had huge amounts of money. Nowadays you can just vibe, eat delicious food and sleep. 12 hours and boop, half the world behind your back. Never ceases to amaze me
Oh well yeah, but beleive or not I still fear the twelve hour part of the journey. THe maximum for me has been about right hours. Only once. I was very nervous that only one time since I usually travel around 6 or 5 . So, it´s still unknown to me this route, maybe someday (If I can beat the fear)

Back in 1999 I flew Honolulu and Narita r/t on a JAL 747-400 and seated in seat 1A. Though not having full on First-class amenity service cubicle seating and excellent service from the flight staff made the flight my best ever.
Worst ever flight customer 'service' was with TWA back in the last 60's. They're long gone. Perhaps others had the same experiences as me.
I have no idea when the last time you've flown was, but these days the major airlines have turned the experience into something akin to a Greyhound Bus with wings.
@@Doodlesthegreat Steve, thanks for your comment. I think I'm lucky that most travelers to and fro Hawaii are in a generally pleasant mood. Flight cancellations are rare but are quickly accommodated.
Pre-Covid, I would travel to the Mainland at least four times a year; Vegas, Denver, and Tucson. When entering the aircraft I would smile and say hi to the greeting flight attendant and others that I pass to acknowledge them. I think they deserve respect but a benefit is that I often get extra positive attention.
