It’s an auto coach . Usually run with a 14xx on push pull . Originally a GWR coach . The black loco is a D49/2 Hunt class . I think the box was for a D49/1 Shire . It’s a nice loco . I have “Cheshire” which is in LNER livery .
I was as excited as you to see what was in the box. Three more locos that have found a good home. Well done Bill, can’t wait until the next box opening . All the best. Mick.
It's a GWR auto coach It basically goes with a pannier tank or a gwr 14xx and works sort of like a DVT where the driver gets in the coach and can drive loco...
Well done Bill...you deserve it for all your help.....I have that 9f in its original black....great looking loco....I am sure you would do a great refurbishment of that one!
Hi Bill. It is an ex GWR auto coach in BR blood and custard colour. As you say it would not have been seen in your neck of the woods as it was GWR. It Was usually push/pulled by the likes of a 14xx 0-4-2 tank engine or a pannier. Some times it may have had a second coach or a box van. the 4-4-0 is en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LNER_Class_D49 . Bill you need to get your self a nice big display cabinet for your railway room.
The D49’s were LNER engines. They were mainly found in the North Eastern Area (Hull,York,Scarborough,Whitby) of the LNER and in BR days they stayed in the same area. There was only ever one 9F in BR passenger green and that was Evening Star. All the others were Black.
Hi bill just came across your channel yesterday and haven't stopped watching you since. Do you think you could do a video showing all your locomotives sometime? Regards George
As a suggestion, instead of saying no to donations. You could refurbished them and put them up on eBay. With the proceeds going to support the channel or a local heritage line.
just like Christmas ! you must have been a good boy! i'm sure some D49's were used in Scotland/the Borders..repainting the 9F will be a doddle if you decide on unlined black..I'm not keen on weathering either. Recently bought two locos on ebay and both are weathered wondering how to 'clean' them up? any suggestions?
Nice donations, what a thoughtful gift. I'm with you on the weathering thing. I think the results are mostly awful. I have just spent over a week 'de-weathering' a Hornby Ivatt I got quite cheap. What started out as an easy clean up became almost a full restoration after I had to chip, scrape and scrub off the 'weathering'. Worth it though, to see it clean again. Will be interesting to see what you decide with the 9F 😊✔
Bill -- here's another video idea for you, fixing the small mobile engineer's crane! There are many about with broken jibs, and I too have one where the wheels fall out of the metal chassis, and it isn't obvious how to keep them in place. You're a very lucky boy getting all that lot! (NB -- 9Fs don't look right being clean/shiny, they were workhorses.)
Love your videos only found your channel recently. Like you, I love fixing stuff It's a lot harder to get hold of the old and broken model these days. In the early days of eBay, you could get a lot of job lots of not a lot of money but now it silly money
Mate, you will soon need a larger house to contain all the donations! You seem to have guitar strings close to hand at all times. Could you play us a railroading song sometime?
That Autocoach only ran on GWR Region. The tool van can be part of a plate layers maintenance train or a breakdown crane train.

You won't have too long to wait...
I really do not think one of us would condone what others donate Bill you do a fantastic service for a lot of us enjoy your gifts
Steve - magnificent generosity. 👌
Ex GWR autocoach. You could use it with an 0-6-0 pannier tank or a 14xx 0-4-2T. Nice!
The crane set will be great with that ex LNER tool van.

Some lovely locos and coaches there mate.👍

I have a 9F and occasionally the loco wheels lock up. I found the crank pin screws become loose and just a slight tighten up, they run again.
I've watched your videos and you do marvellous work. You clearly have a knack with these trains. Keep up the good work.
You should use your GWR tank with the auto Coch

I'm actually planning to do that very soon.

Fox Transfers do really nice sets of brass nameplates.....
Christmas every day 😂😂
Very nice well done lucky you keep up the good work
You need a 14xx to go with your auto coach. I managed to get a nice airfix one fairly cheap on eBay

Goathland, North Yorkshire Moors village railway station used in tv series Heart Beat.
Will have to build another extension now .....

I keep meaning to do just that. Plus I'd like to paint it and make it look a bit less toy like.
@@oobill WD40 For starters, followed by non-acetone nail varnish remover works quite well, applied with an old fashioned mens shaving brush
Lucky man bill, nice haul do like the 9f 👍
Steve, they have gone to a good home.
awesome pressies :)
Is the 2 10 0 a Declapod.?..? Love your videos..!..!
What about "Duke of Edinburgh" as the Name for the B17
You should raffle off the rolling stock you don't want.
To subscribers .
PS. Really big fan of the Chanel.
Keep up the great work
Re the 9F; are you able to remove the weathering?
Gonna try...
Only one green 9F, Evening Star, all other 9F's were black.
Congrats :)
Love your videos only found your channel recently.

Observation coach
I am not a fan of weathering. I wouldn't buy a loco that had been sprayed with muck.
