    I got this truggy by chance in trade a couple of years a ago and it is still my favorite,,,, snatched up as many spares as I could. Loaded up on Vorza hardened steel diffs and gearboxes. Extra axles, driveshafts, A arms, etc. Basically all heavy wear parts. Lol, I don’t want this thing to ever die. But if it does, Kraton time! Hopefully HPI’s new owner will get them going again. Thanks for the vid. Good to see someone still plays with these, cheers!

    What parts do I need to fit the hotbodies d8t diffs in one of these? I just got one used and the diffs look worn out

    • @D.J_RC
      @D.J_RC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as I know you only have to swap the diff rings themselves. I’m still running original diffs! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻been lucky so far.

      @@D.J_RC wow that is lucky! Now I dont know if I want to just buy another set of stock diffs because I cant find hotbodies parts anywhere. Maybe I can make losi diffs fit?

    I have that car stuffed up in the rafters of my garage. I think I’ll pull it down tomorrow and see if the batteries survived 4yrs of storage. Is HPI even around anymore?

      Greg Denton HPI is making a comeback after closing for awhile, a company named Ripmax in the UK bought the rights to the name. Chances are pretty good your batteries are not going to work, but you never know. It’s a great truggy. Thanks for watching.

      D.J. RC I love it. My only issue I ever had was the stock radio and receiver are a little glitchy and I keep losing the bottom screw out of the front spindles. Strips the threads right out.
      I believe I bought a bunch of extras before I parked it. Now I guess I need to go battery shopping, any suggestions? I’m in the western US.

      You can upgrade the radio fairly cheap with a Flysky transmitter/receiver(under $50) and it can control up to ten different models. GPM make a nice quality front steering block and once you loctite the screw in it shouldn’t be an issue ever again.

      Greg and D.J., from what I understand Ripmax went under, and got in some trubbs, and now HPI is owned by a Scandinavian group called Vestergaard group. They have said they will be bringing HPI and Maverick back starting with taking care existing customers first. Hopefully they will succeed where Ripmax failed. Here is their website. You can find HPI in there among many others. Go under “brands” and the Wittmax at the bottom to see HPI. www.wittmax.com/

      Greg Denton, also, just noticed your issue with screws stripping... on eBay, a seller named rcdamper sells a lot of old GPM stuff including front knuckles, which is what it sounds like you’re having problems with. I had this problem as well, but since buying the knuckles they sell, perfect. Nice machined aluminum, not that pot metal shit.The shocks they sell suck though, lol! I do have a couple of other bits from them though, and they rock. Here’s their truggy page... www.ebay.com/str/bargainrctoysstore/TROPHY-4-6/_i.html?_storecat=5338919011 . Also, if you check out Jenny‘s RC, or dollar hobbyz, they generally have some pretty decent inexpensive transmitters. I also have a fly sky which I like quite a lot. Check out the FS-GTC3
