Poor Jemaine thinking about the suffering that his grandmother went through. 😭 What a gentle, caring soul he seems to be. We love you Jemaine, my brother! ✊🏽❤️🙏🏽
Oh I love him! I lived with my grandmother, at kapiti for some years and she also was not allowed to speak Te Reo, her first language, or she would get in trouble and hit at school. She didn’t want to teach us because she thought it wouldn’t be good for us. It is heartbreaking to think about it, totally understand his tears and love him for sharing a painful memory. As a light skinned Maori I also heard things back then that people wouldn’t always say around my darker whanau. It was always so awful. What a great guy he is.
beautiful interview, both of them have such a warm energy. Jemaine’s body of work is really spectacular but he’s stayed so grounded. same with the other nz comedians that have gone international. it’s so refreshing. as a neighbouring australian, it makes me really happy and hopeful to see jemaine’s connection to his country and indigenous identity, and how it informs his creative work ❤️
I'm guessing he probably does meditate. Like David Lynch, Jerry Seinfeld and others, it's an effective way to remain centered when navigating the insanity of fame.
Great interview . Lovely , low key and honest . I had tears when he spoke of his grandma too . Glad he’s found some time to slow down , I think many ( maybe older ) people have found that’s the up side of the down side of the pandemic 😷. He’s still the sexiest man ! 😆👍😘
God love him. He's so funny. Every episode is funny. I just wish there were a couple more seasons. Brabara!!...lol. And the tiny piano...God every episode and the other actors, sensational.
Thank you so much for sharing this video/interview !!! Underrated actor/writer/director…..much respected to mr. clement. You can tell he’s really a sensitive soul. ❤️( love his laughter)
I think they have pitched the best show in the right moment, their songs are the best, the jokes are very very good, they were young and handsome I don't have more compliments, the flight of the conchords you got it going on. Love ya❤️ I am sorry I didn't know ur show till now 😢, they're style is UNIC
14:58 haha Carol Brown is one of my favorite songs of all time no matter how many times I've listened to it, so i had it set as my phone ringtone for many years, and when it started here I thought i was getting a call
This man has just eclipsed Keane Reeves in my books (that’s saying something, hey) Totally a down to earth kinda fella that rocks it on the world stage in his humble Kiwi way Jermaine yeah!
To think, if the schools hadn't suppressed te reo back then, it's possible Jemaine would speak it at least proficiently if not fluently. And then maybe he could have taught some to his own kid. The ripple effects of all that mistreatment are huge.
Woah wait holdup, after doing his Benicio Del Toro impression, he says "hope I get to play his brother one day." I know it's far-fetched but could he be hinting at a future role in Marvel as one of the Eternals..??? Taika and Jeff Goldblum are clearly up to something.... would make sense for Jemaine to join in. Especially since he was the only great thing about Men in Black 3
The sucky part is now in 2023 Te Reo is probably the most sought after "bilingual unit" in schools today. But because colonization made it difficult to learn their own language, its hard to find people who can actually teach our kids. Tu-F#ckn-meke, NOT!
You know what it's like to talk to someone that shows zero emotion or interest while you are brimming with laughter and emotion???... Well now Jermaine does. 😂. Seriously though show some emotion and interest in your interviews, you can tell he feels awkward when he looks back and there's a blank stare and he suddenly just has to stop. Lol
The trauma of colonization. The way his grandmother's pain hit so deeply. I'm surprised he pulled himself together so quickly.

Jermaine is a great dude, tends to get overlooked alot whenever he collaborates with Taika. One of my favourite celebs for sure
Jemaine :P
So underrated

I love this guy even more watching him sad about his gran-ma.

For your information, it's just an inflammation in my tear glands.

So does he meditate or what. Who else has produced such good comedy and is so clear and soulful as Jemaine? his spirit is healthy!
I'm guessing he probably does meditate. Like David Lynch, Jerry Seinfeld and others, it's an effective way to remain centered when navigating the insanity of fame.
IM ABOUT TO CRY SOME TITANIUM TEARS WATCHING JERMAINE GET CHOKED UP
Same man. I haven't cried in so long but I couldn't help it seeing Jemaine getting choked up about the pain his nan went through
He will always have a place in my heart ✨
Then he's a very lucky hombre. hugs

I've been a fan of the show for so long and now love getting to know them as real people.

A lovely heartwarming interview Moana ❤️
So proud of Jermaine and Brett. Represent NZ well.
you managed to spell both their names wrong
Everything he’s involved in is hilarious so whenever you see his name anywhere in the credits of a show or movie watch it!
I couldn't love this man more
Nicely done. Thanks for sharing.
A man crying over his grandma is quite touching. Don’t see this in America, ever.
