    Hi Doc, I do some rowing Tabata style. The music I use, plus some research I did long ago, pointed to 20 seconds of vigorous exercise followed by 10 seconds rest. Also, one technique I have adopted for nighttime sleep is to tape my mouth with a bandaid. Seems to force most breathing through the nose. Wake up rested. Just some thoughts.

    • @dylanpetkusmd
      @dylanpetkusmd  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Rowing Tabata is excellent for cardio and improving oxygen efficiency! Mouth taping is a great way to encourage nasal breathing, which promotes nitric oxide production and better sleep quality. Keep monitoring how it impacts your energy levels and recovery-it sounds like you’re on the right track!

    I'm curious if you have heard of Lisa Wimberger. I liked her story of discovering a way to train her autonomic nerves to continue to breathe when her increasingly severe seizures stopped her breath (and heart if i remember her story right). She's developed her experience into something she calls neurosculpting. I haven't followed that, but her hacks to train her autonomic system might be worth a look and perhaps importing some of her ideas to get the deep sleep breathing to be consciously habituated

      Lisa Wimberger’s work on neurosculpting is fascinating! Training the autonomic system to optimize breathing aligns with supporting sleep apnea recovery. Conscious breathing habits and nervous system balance can truly enhance deep sleep. Thanks for sharing-this is worth exploring further!

      @dylanpetkusmd the leptin info helped. I had asked the ent if sleep apnea was preventing me from losing weight, maybe even causing me to gain weight. He laughed and said if I lose some weight, it will help the sleep apnea. I always felt if I had a good night's sleep, it helped maintain or lose weight. You explained the leptin relationship with sleep helped. Thanks for giving us a way to correct the issue and get things back in balance. Can't wait to do it.

    Dr. What is for people who aren't ok to eat animal proteins more than 2 a week or aren't ok to eat meat , eggs, dairy at all ? Do you know about lectins in nuts, seeds, legumes Dr. Gundry wrote about?

    • @dylanpetkusmd
      @dylanpetkusmd  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Great question! Plant-based diets can work for sleep apnea if nutrient needs are met. Lectins in nuts and seeds can be reduced by soaking/sprouting-this boosts digestibility and lowers inflammation. Focus on protein-rich plants like lentils, quinoa, and hemp seeds while balancing carbs to manage energy and inflammation.

    Hi, Dylan. Thanks for the video!
    If I was significantly mire voracious than other kids since the day I was born, does it mean that something in my DNA has been causing higher gherlin and lower leptin all along?
    Is there something that can be done to deactivate that (even regardless of the foods I eat)?

    Doc do my own experiment but just only 3 days, first 2 days, I ate or chew Polysilane contain simethicone, MgH, AlH, and my wakeup headache are gone, today without eat polysilane, I got a wakeup headache. Is the headache from the stomach acid?

    • @dylanpetkusmd
      @dylanpetkusmd  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Your experiment highlights a possible link between digestion and sleep issues. Stomach acid/reflux can disrupt breathing, leading to headaches. Tracking patterns like diet, digestion, and symptoms might reveal more. For deeper insights, check ApneaReset(dot)com!

    So many people hyperventilate, and so many people breathe wrong. Why don’t they all have sleep apnea? If it all boiled down to a faster inhale like you say…..

    • @dylanpetkusmd
      @dylanpetkusmd  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Provide your references on "so many people breath[ing] wrong." That's the premise of your argument which is just something you're saying.

    • @shankar0cr
      @shankar0cr 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@dylanpetkusmd The reference is a scenario where an obese person is hyperventilating after taking a few steps, or after they climb a few steps. They are hyperventilating and it's no joke. However, at night they dont have sleep apnea, and they sleep fine. So what do you think is going on there?

    I am so frustrated with all the experts saying how wonderful nuts are. I love nuts but several years ago I experienced an emergency allergic reaction. I can no longer eat nuts. Please tell these experts that many people can't eat nuts. What else can we use? And I am sorry but I hate avocados. It is not as simple a fix as they say.
