- Viadux building exterior near completion and Beetham Tower. Manchester’s skyline is changing dramatically and this is another addition. Overlooking Castlefields and Hulme. Along Whitworth street and close to Bridgewater hall.

Breaking... Salboy have announced they are shelving the office building planned at Viadux by building two more residential towers. Viadux Phase 1 is being fitted out but Phase 2 will have two towers Phase 2a and Phase 2b. Phase 2a they hope will be a 76 storey tower, possibly Mcr's highest with Phase 2b a, smaller tower of affordable homes.
Thanks for the update
@@jonldronevideos You are welcome. I think you may have to take care of your drone as ice might form at that height! 😉
Great footage and amazing views. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍 Subbed and Liked. 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching
And now phase 2 has been announced a 76 story tower will be at least 230m ! And it looks amazing
Probably the tallest in Manchester
@@jonldronevideos yes it will be 12 floor taller than the planned lighthouse at 211 :)
I just love watching your videos and seeing how Manchester is changing for the better!
Thanks glad you enjoyed watching
I like the music to this
Thanks. Music is on Epidemic.com , details in the description
Hope they build a super tall 300+
Would be cool
Certainly would Mcr needs a super tall skyscraper in the middle of the city centre to balance up the skyline possibly one with an extensive observation level at the top
Lovely choral music.
Viadux apparently is two parts. This is part one. It was to be joined by part two on a podium. Part two was mainly an office block less in height.
Though apparently Mcr needs Grade A office space the working from home meant a rethink. As far as I know they are planning another residential tower.
Vision close-by on Whitworth Street West I understand is having facilitating work
Think they had a few challenges building this tower and Covid changed a lot
Viadux two is 60 storeys high.
@@paulwild3676 Thank you so much. Could see that happening but hadn't had it in writing. 60 storeys, wow.
@@jonldronevideos Please look at Paul's reply. 60 storeys, hope you've got enough batteries for the wonderful drone.
Could only get so high on this building. You can’t legally go above 120 metres.
Almost all the tall buildings are apartments. Why not office spaces occupying the tall buildings? Also, is it really a need to build this many apartments? Manchester seems to have more apartments than office buildings, rare for a city centre/downtown.
We have a shortfall of homes and apparently this is part of the solution. There was plans for an office building also.
Dang, you're on every Manchester video with this exact same comment, dude
There is demand for the apartments because everyone wants to live in Manchester cos it’s an amazing city. They can’t build them fast enough. Quit moaning
When a city gets bigger they start with tall residential then that brings tall commercial as then more people who live in the city can work in them. Simple.
That's a good point and at the moment there seems to be no slowing down and these are going to be very expensive to rent or own . However wider regional, national and international factors all play a part in a complicated and shifting story . But strategically if fully unleashed the potential of the northwest is excellent and ditto the north east . Otherwise its all a mystery to me !
