Today mw turned off only when I go up to -26 and only when I put on the Xbox, with music it doesn't happen. any ideas? The music from TH-cam like the Xbox enters through the optical cable. It's strange that if I play the Xbox it turns off and if I play music it doesn't.
I came across the problem by chance. One of the rear speakers had a cable come loose and was short circuiting, you can see that the AV is turned off so that no further damage occurs. Incredible electronics in a 2000 AV. Thanks for your help.

Any other audio input you are using other than xbox sir?

Thanks to built in short circuit protection, if there is shorted wiring across outputs the system will switch off automatically.
