This is what a good 3.5 player looks like. If he ranked himself a 4.0, then the only players he would be beating at tournaments are other 3.5’s overrating themselves.
He's cleary better than most 3.5's I've seen. Strong on both wings, few errors. She lost with unforced errors, but I really enjoyed seeing how strong her return of serve was. Nice shots.
The guy has a ton of power, particularly on his forehand, for a 3.5. I think that in itself was the main difference in the match. So, he seems like an upper level 3.5 to me. It's harder to tell the gal's rating due to Dan's power overwhelming her at times, but I would agree with 4.0, at least... I thought the gal held her own for the most part and the score was within reason given their ratings...
He does have a lot of power but I felt that his technique was very sloppy. I noticed that for some shots he was just standing straight up without much getting into any kind of ready position. She for the most part gave away a lot of points in the begining but you can tell she was trying to play with a lot more strategy
the court time is only 75min so id rather have them play more points than switch sides. The most of USTA league matches in the area stays on the same side for an entire set too.
I think the guy plays like a 4.0 and the girl plays like a solid 3.5. The reason I think this is because when you look at the level of players a 4.0 ntrp is like a 5 maybe 5.5 utr but a 3.5 is like a 3 or 4 utr I think. 1 or 1.5 utr difference is huge, that’s like putting a 5 utr against a 6.5 utr the 5 will get bageled
Yes, if you meant the girl is playing solid 3.5 NTRP male, then she is 4.5 NTRP female. There is a full NTRP difference between male and female in the gender scale. Source: USTA website.
I don't know how much indoor tennis experience you got but the most of the time, we switch side on the end of the set to save the time since we only get 75min of court time
Dan is definitely a “Free Swinger” he never once tightened up and purely muscled the racket. He needs refinement in technique in many areas but free swinging a racket like he does is a hard thing to teach. It’s a characteristic that gives him an edge and will make being a 4.5 in the future a definite possibility.
The female player is an excellent tennis player. You rarely see females with this kind of creativity on their shots. Some of the shots she is hitting and the aggressiveness she is showing is not even shown on the pro level. This was interesting to watch. I wish she had been closer to the camera though.
@@YUTYDUTY I'd say 3.5s work hard on the consistency of the shots, and 4.0s are working on adapting to different paces and getting a taste of strategies.
So guy is either (a) a sandbagging 3.5 or (b) there are so many other sandbagging 3.5's in his area that he can't quite make it out of his level. He needs to be playing 4.0 tennis, period.
This girl is totally 4.5. She makes too many errors. She doesn’t get returns back and misses easy shots. But she is THE MOST TALENTED girl 4.5 I’ve seen in a long time. She’s a total stud athlete. He’s ok, 4.0, solid. She’s got 5.0+ written all over her. Her forehand is modern ATP. Her serve is good, volley grips good. Great athlete. I don’t knowing she’s a college player or what but she will crush 4.0 women and with a few more balls in play, she’ll crush 4.5 women, unless she’s totally impatient. I’ve won Amy Yee Open men’s open singles, men’s open doubles (3 times), open mixed, 35’s. I’d play mixed with her in this years event in a heartbeat. Her forehand is HUGE!!!

Lemme give you guys a little lesson. Lesson 1 anyone who can effectively hit a one handed topspin back is not a 3.5 Lesson 2 anyone who can hit a second serve over 70mph instead of a candy ass pancake lob, is not a 3.5 Lesson 3 anyone who plays with hyper g or even knows what hyper G's are... Is not a 3.5. Lesson 4 anyone who plays with sub 50 lbs tension or understands the pros and cons of low vs high tension strings. Not a 3.5. If wawrinka here is a 3.5 then Nadal is a 5.0
Lol He did get bumped to 4.0 in the end of the year I will give you a free lessons here. NTRP rating has nothing to do with ones aesthetic on individual shots but its based on the match record. It's even more ridiculous to say if a player uses hyper G, the player is above 3.5. The knowledge on equipment has nothing to do with that person's play level.
@@YUTYDUTY it's a joke brother but odds are if someone is messing around with heavy polys they've been around the game and are in the "performance" oriented category, you ain't no 3.5
That's a damn good serve for a "3.5". In my area, many 4.0 don't serve that smoothly, and most 3.5 just dink their serves.
In my area , most 3.5 never double faults .. and 4.0 is serving aces after aces …
I am really enjoying the tennis you're showing on this channel. Thank you!
Thank you so much. It means a lot🎾
Backhand is a super rip
No way this dude is a 3.5
was thinking the same thing...way too many good first serves and too few errors, at least 4.0
This is what a good 3.5 player looks like. If he ranked himself a 4.0, then the only players he would be beating at tournaments are other 3.5’s overrating themselves.
Strong 3.5… my game is similar…. Strong first serve. Strong forehand. Miss easy shots at times. Will beat most 3.5s. Lose to most 4.0s…
Bruh are you sure you are 3.5? Powerful serve, no double faults 😅

he has restrain which is one of the hardest to things to have at that level. Most go for winners and lose most of the time.
What a walk off forehand at 12:27! He knew she wasn't going to return that.
Nice, looks like 4.5 girl vs 4.0 guy tho💪🏼
Yeh I was just gonna say he has real nice first serve for 3.5. Powerful and consistent.
They would be happy to hear that 👍🎾
i agreed, the guy is closer to 4.0
Dan I love how you go full send on most of your hits. you're more than a 3.5
Finally tennis that is not over rated! Both are solid players.
Really enjoyed this. So, they play an entire set from one side of the court, then, they switch sides for the next set. Is that a regional thing??
the court time is only 75min so id rather have them play more points than switch sides.

Where is this? interested in playing matche with serious players.
we are located in Seattle. Let us know when you are near by
I believe they are playing at Seattle sandbag tennis center.
very nice match! very high quality game.
3.5???
If he's 3.5 I'm stuck at 3 then...damn inconsistent and unforced errors!
In my opinion, this dude is between 4.0-4.5 level
totally.
Yep no 3.5 has a backhand or forehand like that
Her step is 2.5 below
No he’s just solid 3.5. Maybe 4.0. 4.5 has long way to go…

which player are you talking about?
@@YUTYDUTY the gentleman

Is he in 3.5 USTA? Then he is 3.5. This isn't actually any kind of debate. USTA is not self rated - its play based.
The guy is clearly a 3.5 in an area where all the 4.5s are playing down two levels to win sectionals and he is losing to them.
that girl's not just 4.0.
what rating would you give her?
What racquet are you using ?

this gut plays amazing tennis:)
That girl hits better than most of the 4.0 women I know. She’s more of a 4.5 and he is a high 4.0
An average 3.5 guy is about the same as a 4.5 gal. He should bagel a 4.0 gal, or close to it.
How on earth is this guy 3.5? He is a legit 4.5 from this video
Yeah. That serve and forehand are very solid. At least a 4.0
