I do not understand tourism players in sabah. Those stuff will affect their business. Even mataking island (owned by a resort) has sea trash on the beach as highlighted by 'jumping places'. Whether diving companies, resorts, tour companies all must have a sinking fund together with state gov to clean up sabah waters regularly. We cannot keep asking NGOs
The water was shallow not suitable for snorkeling, better if you go snorkeling at proper corals spot, more beautiful, more coral fish..But that transparent kayak was cool tho👍
Sabah has very good potential but sea trash spoil it. I wrote many emails to sabah parks , so far no reply from them. I wrote to tourism ministry, they called me and said they are aware of challenges in sabah. The minister has had a meeting with tourism players in semporna too. But nothing will change as long as stateless people live on the waters.
I felt very bad when looking rubbish in the sea..the authorities suppose to take immediate actions to avoid these bad habits.
