Tommy is one of a kind. In January 2024 he left the Swedish power metal band Sabaton (which is also worth checking out) to dedicate himself to his own band, Majestica. If you want to see and listen to him playing his own music with his own band, check out A Story in the Night (Offical Music Video) from Majestica's new album Power Train which was released yesterday.
One of my favourite covers from Tommy, really beautiful. The original is a very personal song for ABBA and the way Tommy managed to make it his own is simply incredible. Btw, Tommy's band Majestica released the new album yesterday and it's really amazing, hope you'll check it out. Hi John! I first found your channel through this reaction to Tommy. In this you mentioned that you did his Phantom of the Opera. It was so hard to locate that one in your Reactions playlist but I finally found it. While looking for Phantom, I came across your reaction to Cotton Eye Joe. I used YT search and these two reactions never came up. I suggest that you make a playlist for Tommy (I know it's your channel) but Tommy has many, many dedicated fans and if we find Tommy reactions, especially really good ones like yours, we will show up. Tommy is Swedish, a composer, song writer; multi-instrumentalist (11 instruments I believe), a very funny guy. In a Q&A on his channel he referred to his YT covers as a hobby. Last year left the band Sabaton after 7 years or so to dedicate his time to his own projects and his band Majestica, which used to be called ReinXeed. He started his band at 14 years old and I suggest you react to "The Light" which he wrote with he was 14 or 15, and he re-released it for a 20 year anniversary. Majestica has a few videos available on YT I suggest you check out, the most recent ones are "A New Beginning", "Power Train", "A Story in the Night" and "Battle Cry", the last 3 are from their new album that was released on February 7, 2025. A couple of years ago Majestica put out a Christmas Story album, and it is telling of the story of Scrooge in his perspective. Please make Tommy's and Majestica's (if you give them a listen) videos a lot easier to find on your channel, his fans will absolutely love you for it. #tommyjohansson #majestica
Yes, he shreds! As a matter of fact he just left Sabaton as their lead guitarist last spring to devote more time to his band Majestica and his YT channel. Both bands are amazing! (Check out "Bismarck" for Sabaton) and ("A Story in the Night" for Majestica) and PLEASE do "Neverending Story", brings back so many memories! ❤

Tommy and Erik have done "Carlous Rex", Erik and Dan have done "breaking the silence", now the 3 of them need to form a supergroup. Tommy's cover of "highway to hell" is one of my favorites, but his cover of "you raise me up" is something else.
ABBA, a Swedish pop group formed in Stockholm will remain one of the best popular and successful musical groups of all time!!!

I am utterly literally shocked that you're not familiar with one of, if not *the* most popular group of the 20th century, ABBA. Dude, you *have* to get yourself familiar with them, even if you only listen to their albums on your own time. Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersen are two of the most incredible pop composers ever (they worked with Tim Rice on the musical Chess - another masterpiece, if you get a chance) Honestly, though, you've absolutely missed a huge, huge piece of pop music history with ABBA.

I really hope you listen to a couple of ABBAs most famous songs. Björn and Benny are excellent songwriters: their melodies are beautiful and catchy and their arrangements are always interesting. Björn and Benny have composed two musicals too with STUNNING music and songs! ("Chess" and "Kristina från Duvemåla")

Tommy is a vocal virtuoso with his range & his many skills. He's also a master with many instruments. Last I knew, he plays 12 or 13 proficiently. I haven't heard a single cover he's done that isn't simply amazing!
Tommy's band, Majestica, just released a new album last Friday called 'PowerTrain'. The wide variety of tracks showcase the musical talents & diversity of the band. It's powerful, phenomenal, fast-moving, & the best album they've ever done!

Have you tried Forestella? They are a crossover foursome from S. Korea, & their vocals are fantabulous! One member, Kang Hyung Ho, does Phantom so very well.
Tommy plays more than ten instruments, so yes, he plays the drums as well. He use to be the drummer in a band way back in time.

One of his best covers, although Tommy doesn't really have any bad ones. Check out his two Deep Purple covers, Burn and Child in Time, they're awesome. If you want to see him play even more instruments, check out Nu Gronskar Det, a Swedish folk song he covered (music by JS Bach, no less).
