In this vlog, we took a road trip to South Carolina and visited Historic Charleston, SC. We candidly share our thoughts after visiting a historic museum. LOVE the homes in Charleston. The porches and trees surrounding the homes. Gives you a Louisiana (New Orleans) feel sort of. Very through Museum, but small. Charlie and Joshua were very inquisitive throughout. History, we ALL need to learn about it. Imani seems to be well versed on her history and Jamel and Cloudy too. Thanks guys for taking us along for the tour.
Hi, Lisa!! We missed you! 🤗 Thanks for spending this time with us. Charleston is a beautiful, charming city. I love the Colonial, Georgian, and Victorian architectural styled buildings and homes. Now that you mentioned it, it does give New Orleans, Louisiana feel. The little ones were very inquisitive and the older ones will pass the torch of knowlege to them. Yes, the content of the museum was meager in comparison to other museums we've been to. Sam thought the museum could have been bigger housing more artifacts. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our visit. We also enjoyed our time at The Battery as well as Fort Sumpter. Wishing you and yours a blessed Holiday Season!! Much love from all of us.

Hi the name of the Church where parishioners were killed by a lone gunman, is Emanuel A.M.E church. It is located on Calhoun Street in downtown Charleston.
I live in Bronx, NY and attend an A.M.E. church in Harlem. Emanuel is our sister church

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Tis The Season. I LOVE YOUR FAMILY !!! It so good to see everybody! Glad Sam looks healthy and healed. I have Missed y'all So Much . Historic Charleston is an interesting place, and a lot of evil happened there. When President Lincoln was elected SC fired on Fort Sumter in the bay of Charleston and began the Civil War. The Civil War was the Bloodiest War in US History. GOD gave Lincoln a Vision that the War was judgement because of slavery, Life for Life. After slavery ended many people black and white had no homes to return to, and they had to camp, and wondered from place to place. Many traveled west to start a new life. We have a Lot to be Thankful For. Have a BLESSED CHRISTMAS, AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I learned something new I thought the black museum was in Washington DC not South Carolina.South Carolina is beautiful.

I was wondering if you were in Charleston S.C..Later you said Summerville, S.C.
I have family in Summerville, and Charleston ,as well as many other areas.
Yes, it was the first AME church of freed slaves.
Not to be disrespectful, but surely you have studied the history of your family , long before your visit to S.C.
Trinidadians,also came to the Islands along the South Atlantic Coastline.
Remember, many of the culture of S.C.consists from those slaves who were from West Indies.
South Carolina is one of the Southern states,Along with Mississippi Louisiana, That were entry ports for Slaves from Africa, but also slaves came through the SOUND,along the Georgia, Coastline, into the Islands.
Unfortunately, we don't keep our history passed from generation to generation.
If you went to The Market it was originally the SLAVE MARKET.
I would imagine this is a conversation that may. have been uncomfortable for Sam, yet he gave a very thoughtful response.
So have you ever had a real conversation as an entire family, when Sam is present.
He is often,the minority member..
Your story was a national headline, and I am sure you had many conversations about interracial/ international blended families, but have you actually had conversations about racism ,segregation and true attitudes.

Although Charleston history consists mostly of slave trading , it's a beautiful place to visit and still a lot of history to be learned
