I was worried about the news that Sesame Street lost a distributor because of Zaslav’s greedy antics. After understanding your explanation, I’m starting cheer up from it. As it is one of the biggest kids shows in the entertainment industry. It would suprise that big named companies like Disney, Apple, and Netflix would want to get their hands on that golden goose. Even if it’s scary that Disney wants it, I could also see potential of having Kermit and some other muppets making a return to the streets like in the classic episodes despite the format change

Jim Henson made a personal promise to Joan Ganz Cooney that when he was considering selling the Muppets to Disney, that Sesame Street and all characters under the domain are off limits.
Besides, I think we’re all aware of how little focus they’ve given to the Muppets. So what are the chances they’d treat Sesame Street any different?

@@isaachernandez2592 in my opinion, it’s an interesting and surprising list. Im surprised there’s 6 golden globe nominees this time. I thought there would be just 5. Usually the 5th nomination at the Oscar’s is the big wildcard. Flow and Memoir of a Snail are the two independent films that are getting the most attention. While I believe that Inside Out 2, The Wild Robot, Wallace and Gromit, and Flow are most likely the ones to get their Oscar nominations reserved, I think it’s hard to guess what gets lucky the most for now.
About Transformers One I think at best, it will be like Kubo & the Two Strings where it did get lucky being nominated despite the box office underperformance. At worst, it won’t be nominated like TMNT Mutant Meyhem. Then again, Josh Cooley is already covered with Toy Story 4’s win at the Oscars.

    1. Best of luck to the first fully animated Loony Tunes movie in theaters. Looks fun
    2. After the horrific results of Kraven, I can say that Columbia Pictures (which Sony Pictures owns) had the worst 100th anniversary ever this year! This may sound like a big statement, it’s worse then the 100th anniversaries of both Disney and Warner Bros from last year. This year made MGM’s 100th anniversary look good. Anyways, it’s for best that Sony would stop making Spider Man spin off movies. It’s at a point where Sony’s Spider Man Universe franchise is something that puts out failure after failure. Also, seeing Kraven massively fail gives me schadenfreude that I saw both Wicked and Moana 2 in theaters instead of Kraven the Hunter and I really enjoyed those two movie musicals
    3. I was weirded out that a Tangled remake would be a thing because like the upcoming Moana remake, it feels too soon to do so. On the other hand, I will give it that it they did hire a director who’s done a musical before and with what he’s done with The Greatest Showman, I can imagine he’ll turn it into a spectacle especially with the lanterns scene. Hope they got some good casting choices too. There’s not much animals so I imagine that it won’t make the budget too expensive. So for now, much like the Lilo & Stitch remake coming next year, I’m openly cautious. The thing is that I see some possibilities what could they do right or wrong. Like Deadpool says, “I’m just making an educated wish”
    4. Oh boy. This cartoon duo has a long way to go in order to strongly carry a theatrical feature film do they? WB really has do everything to convince people that this new Tom & Jerry movie will be great
    5. Well what do you expect from the same platform that removed The Not So Late Show with Elmo. I hope Sesame Workshop can find a deal with a different channel or streamer soon. I could imagine them return to their old PBS home on TV. On streaming, the possible candidates you thought of may make things interesting.
    Happy holidays!!! 🎄

I don’t know calling the 100th anniversary for Columbia to be worse than Disney and Warner Bros. I feel like they’re in the middle just because the budget they spend isn’t super high like $200 million budget compared to how Disney and Warner Bros spent their budgets for their movies in general. I mean not to disagree or anything I just don’t think isn’t as bad to what the two studios went through last year

But More as well I never knew exactly existed? so it looks like MGM or now MGM/Amazon Studios was like the only one that had a good time the rest Disney,WB,And now Columbia not really! The Day The Earth Blew Up) Oh, how I wish the same could’ve happened with Coyote VS Acme…😿
Anyways, one of my favorite things to ever come from the Looney Tunes was the Duck Dodgers animated series. And this movie feels like a spiritual successor in a way, only with more loonier animation & more bubblegum!🍬 I can’t wait for this to come out! (And Ketchup Entertainment, can you do some kind of special presentation or event in a certain city where the most famous Looney Tunes running gag came from AKA where I live, please?↩)
Sony’s Spider-Man Universe) If you don’t include the ones from the MCU. Then really, the only great Spider-Man films that Sony released themselves are just the first two directed by Sam Raimi & Spiderverse!🤷‍♀
And with embarrassments like Morbius, Madame Web, and now Kraven The Hunter, Sony would be better off if they just give the rights back to Marvel & Disney! (After they finish with Beyond The Spiderverse first, of course!)🕷
Live-Action Tangled) While The Princess And The Frog did give me that hope of a Disney comeback at the end of the 2000s decade. Tangled was actually the one where I truly felt like “YES!!! THAT’S THE DISNEY I KNOW AND LOVE!!!”🥰, and it still holds a special place in my heart & in my top 10 Disney animated films! (The series was also great too, I’ve got to thank AniMat for that recommendation!😉) So yeah, I’m definitely pissed that its now getting the live-action remake treatment!
Tom And Jerry) After that disastrous 2021 live-action hybrid…😖
Just hearing that Rashida Jones, Will McCormack & Michael Govier are writing the script for this new animated film is enough for me to say that it has a shot! (As long as Tom & Jerry themselves don’t talk or have dumb musical numbers like in the 1992 film…)
Sesame Street) The HBO Max removals were already bad enough with the Cartoon Network series & Looney Tunes, BUT THIS TAKES THE F****** CAKE!!!😾
I think Sesame Street should go back to airing only on PBS, and as for streaming, maybe Apple TV+. (Then they can hang out with their old friends down in Fraggle Rock!)
Have a safe & wonderful holidays everybody!!! See you all in 2025!!!🎄❄

The 90s Tom and Jerry movie is actually a guilty pleasure of mine.
I know you don’t like it AniMat and that’s okay. I respect your opinion
I’ll admit it’s not perfect. The plot feels like a recycled version of _All Dogs Go to Heaven_ and maybe the duo did talk a bit too much, but to be fair, they have talked a few times in the original cartoons. Plus the voice acting for the two was actually pretty good and fitting (especially considering it was the last film for Dana Hill), some of the songs can be catchy and fitting (Friends to the End is actually one of my top favorites) and it did spawn one of the most popular memes.
I get it’s not the best film, but it’s a childhood classic to me
In terms of the direct to videos, I find that the best ones are the ones that are more original and NOT just a self insert fanfic type film. 2 of my favorites are _The Magic Ring_ and _Shiver me Whiskers_

    1. After looking at The Day the Earth Blew Up trailer, I think it might be fun. Nothing spectacular or anything but just maybe fun. Still ashamed that it getting released by Ketchup Entertainment instead of Warner Bros themselves as they’re the ones created and owns the Looney Tunes. Hopefully that the film itself will finally come out in theaters in the U.S. next year for those that are Looney Tunes fans out there.
    2. 2023 was the year when Disney and Warner Bros suffered their own box office bombs when it comes to their own superhero movies they made (except Guardians 3), now it is Sony’s turn this year to suffer their own box office bombs of their own superhero movies they made. Because of how Morbius, Madame Web, and now Kraven the Hunter became a disaster both critically and financially which even the Venom sequels is showing diminishing returns, I’m glad Sony is putting to an end of this Spider-Man less spin-off movies. Sony has finally now got the message from audiences that they don’t want these type of movies after what the studio believe under a false impression from the public wanting more after a unexpected success of the first Venom movie but now they finally get it. I never like any of their films with maybe Let There Be Carnage as an exception of being okay as those films are fill with dull stories, terrible writing, bad direction, laughable dialogue, cringy moments that later becomes as memes as a laughing joke particularly with Morbius and Madame Web, awful acting from award winning actors, bland characters, noticeable ADR, sloppy editing, forced in references to connect with the MCU, and especially the studio interferences that kept making drastic changes of those cuts during the pandemic and strikes including Avi Arad who shouldn’t even produce films anymore due to those films and Borderlands being so so bad. While I am glad they are only focusing on the projects that has Spider-Man in it with the 4th MCU Spider-Man film, Beyond The Spider-Verse, and Spider-Man Noir for Amazon Prime, still it really shows how that their failed Spider-Man universe has been a disaster for the studio even some hits films like Bad Boys: Ride Or Die, The Garfield Movie, and It End With Us doesn’t do much to salvage what was done with the Spider-Man less films. Now thankfully, they don’t have any Spider-Man movies on their slate next year as they’re leaning on films like Karate Kid: Legends, Until Dawn, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and 28 Years Later, which the latter they acquired off from Disney and Searchlight Pictures and plans to make a trilogy out of it (also has Aaron Taylor-Johnson in it as a redemption from Kraven the Hunter), and hope they can go back to being just a normal studio that doesn’t rely so much on Spider-Man. As a Spider-Man fan, focus more on Spider-Man that has the main character in there and let the filmmakers cook!
    3. Like many, I’m not excited to see a potential live action remake of Tangled even though there is less to work around with the visuals given it leans more human characters, I’m just not that excited in general given next we will have two Disney live action remakes and a DreamWorks live action remake too. I don’t see much hope for it.
    4. Despite getting some talented people involved, what is the point of making another Tom and Jerry movie? I find it possible to make based off from a very simple premise that makes it impossible to make a good movie out of it. I could be wrong but unless the people are involved have some ideas what to do with Tom and Jerry, for now, I don’t see the point of it.
    5. This is really dumb for WB and HBO to drop Sesame Street on to their channel and streaming. I would love for Sesame Street to go back with PBS again but if not, I could see either Amazon, Apple, or Disney to picked the rights and released old and new episodes for their streaming content. It still ashamed that Warner Bros drop the ball on this one, but hey, WB gotta be WB to make dumb decisions given with the current state they are in right now.

Final episode of the year, this will be a quick rundown!!
    1) The trailer for The Day the Earth Blew Up = After 4 years of hard work, the hype is on!!! This is a true comeback for the Looney Tunes, even when WB is not distributing it. But thank god Ketchup Studios saved the film from cancellation.
    2) The Sony rumors = With how Venom 3, Madame Webb, and Kraven turned out to be critical failures, maybe let's give the rights to Spider-Man over to Marvel Studios and Disney. The Spider-Verse films are also under hot water recently since only Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson will direct Beyond the Spider-Verse. I mean, it's going to be hard to trust Lord and Miller after those two have been exposed abusing employees at both Sony Animation and Sony Images Works. But with Persichetti, it's going to take a long time to forgive him for recently producing the critically hated Tiger's Apprentice.
    3) The upcoming live action remake of Tangled = OH NO, here we go again. Personally, I have zero hype for this. Any future releases of Disney's upcoming live-action remakes make me feel upset because of how a studio is desperate to cash in on the success of their classic films. However, with Tangled, you're taking a modern fan favorite that isn't even a century old yet. The film turns 15 next year, and people still love the original alongside the spinoff show. But to end on a high note, please get McKenna Grace to play as Rapunzel!!! She can sing amazingly.
    4) A new Tom and Jerry reboot at WB pictures animation = As long as it's not like the 2021 disaster, but it's going to be hard to get positively on board when WB Pictures Animation doesn't know how to properly adapt classic properties into the modern era. I feel the best alternative is to, instead of making a new Tom and Jerry movie, why not make a set of new Tom and Jerry cartoons that would play before WB's future animated lineup? The same happened over 15 years ago, when the studio and the assistance of Reel FX created a new batch of Looney Tunes shorts that played before Cats and Dogs 2, Legend of the Guardians, Yogi Bear, Happy Feet 2, and Journey 2.
    5) Sesame Street splitting ways with Max = To be honest, it's for the best for Sesame Workshop to leave HBO and return back to PBS. The show's original plan was to be accessible for the lower/middle class. But in 2016, the show moved to HBO Family, which is a lot more expensive to rent through cable providers. Thus, the more Sesame Workshop can make a new deal with PBS, the better that the street will grow further.
Happy holidays and see y'all next year.

Live action remakes of hand drawn films is one thing, but CGI films seems a little…….(I’m not sure what word there is for it)
