The resin for the top turned out beautifully. The replacement foot fits the stem pattern much better. The resin in the foot really ties in with the resin cup
Well this project took my breath away from beginning to end. I can hear the excitement in your voice as you worked on this and at almost 0200 hours I'm like a kid at Christmas sneaking around the tree shaking the boxes and can't wait til morning. I can see this sitting on my table full of sea shells and star fish.
Hi Jim, I really love the end result with the epoxy, the colors and the clear play great together. It was also fun to see that i had 2 chances in the epoxy giveaway. Congrats to Peter
Brilliant piece! It could be glass! Your presentation style is a real gift... authentic with clear explanations and a great sense of humor. Congrats on reaching 80K!
Your wife's imagination, combined with your talent and skill, make for some great, creative projects. I love how the gold swirls into the blue and makes a nice green color.
Absolutely gorgeous! I love how the colors blend with the clear resin, as well as the bit of color in the stem and base. Your wife must be a happy lady 😃
I like it. The combination of the clear with the colors came out wonderfully. I hope your Wife is pleased with it. Congrats to the winner of the resin.
Stunning piece, the bowl did come out amazingly. It's cold too in the UK, and damp. So I just watched this under an electric blanket while fending off my food obsessed elderly cat who wanted my snacks.
Can't get over how stunning the bowl/glass turned out! Always amazed by the Bob Ross "Happy Accidents" that happens to skilled artisans. What I wanted to comment on was the stem/base. At first I thought it would look better with a darker wood - mahogany or dark cherry. But after looking at the finished piece, it struck me how much it resembles the texture of cork! So the color and texture will carry though the project. Nice thinking, Jim!! (Good luck with the tractor. Don't let it run over you!!)
Happy accidents are what happens when you look at problems as opportunities for creative solutions instead of blockades. There's always a way around something, and an artistic piece always turns out so much better if the problems you encounter along the way are used to make it even better! I've started working with a medium that's pretty much all about that! Most of what you're doing is gluing decorative pieces on to hide the imperfections on the egg. My decorative eggs have gotten really stunning and even when I go over what something was added to cover over, people just keep looking at the piece and going, "Man, I can't imagine this thing without that! It's too pretty!"
Your work and creativity just keep getting better and better, Jim. The bit of color in the base really ties the whole project together. Congratulations on 80K. Well earned for certain.
If you made another one with a shorter stem, that would make a beautiful candy dish or cookie serving dish. Your choice of colors are great together. The way they swirled together are super nice. Wonderful work.
I do love that wine glass. Your wife was right about the base. 😂 that resin really turned out beautiful.❤❤ I am glad to see you left the base on the pine cone dish. It really sets the bowl up to a bigger level.
How brilliant that you follow through on all the challenges your wife sets for you - and create something so impressive that you end up getting fond of it yourself 😁 I love the colours in this piece, Jim, as well as the style. As I don't drink, if I was being well behaved I would fill it with nuts or fruit... but if not so well-behaved then that is the best candy bowl (or sweet bowl in the UK) that I could have in my home 🙄 Congrats on the 80k and nice to see the subscriptions climbing up every day.
So gorgeous! Thank you for taking time to explain the "why" you make decisions to make changes. I'm just a new beginner, so it's great to get answers to questions before I even know I need them!
Congrats on the 80k~! You deserve every subscriber! This piece made me speechless. That epoxy really cured up clear, despite the logical conclusion that it would at least fracture. Once again, stunning work. So glad there are people like you that aren't afraid to openly share and discuss their muck-ups. Your honesty is so refreshing. Thank you for making this fellow Ontarian proud... 👏🥰👏
My Good God your videos just keep getting better and better I Love your creativity with everything you make.. Your better than TV ...And day !! Thanks so much you made an older than dirt woman very happy today ... 💕. 👵🙃🙂
I love how the wine glass came out. It is quite large, but you need enough space for those corks! It is so pretty, and the colors go together so well. Nice job!
I saw the thumbnail and thought: Wow, this is the Goblet of Fire from Harry Potter! Or is it a wine glass from Asgard? What a great piece of art! I don´t drink wine but I would put this little LED fairy lights inside for effect. That would be a spectacular eyecatcher. I´m officially in LOVE... with a wine glass. LOL. 🤭 There´s a first time for everything, they say. 😉
SPECTACULAR 🎉 The clear resin and colours are beautifully interactive with the stem n base. Awesome Job Jim!! 👍 The Wife was right 😉 Congratulations on 80k subscribers
Stunning piece. Love the "glass" effect the clear resin gives. The colors really highlight the resin. Great job as always. This would be a great stand alone bowl.
The best wine glass I have ever seen. Great idea to put corks in it and of course with that stunning piece you can do anything. Resin work is so pretty. I am sure it will be another stunning, functional piece in your home.
Love the glass. The resin is down right fantastic Don't drink any more, not my choice. I would have a lot more fun if not for the doctors.....lol This piece is another stunning work of art. Well done sir.🌿 👍👍👍👍👍
Designer Epoxy And of course he tops himself again. Once again Jim you’ve outdone yourself. You know that every time you do this, you just make it harder for yourself. No seriously though, it really did come out nice. Top to bottom it looks great. Even if you just did the top part on its own, you’d have a winner. I hope your wife appreciates the piece, I’m sure she will, and I hope the two of you enjoy filling it up with corks. Cheers 🥂 Jim, and I hope you have a happy new year. Thank you for your service.
The wine glass looks great Jim. I've watched a lot of your videos and it's clear that you are always trying to get the best result possible. This is something I admire in you. Keep up the great work and thanks for another great video.
Jim the wine glass turned out beautiful. That was a great idea your wife had. I'm going to keep bugging my husband to make me one LoL Congrats to Peter.
Hi Jim, the color separation and use of clear, turned out Awesome! You need to do that color combo again. An somehow get that bottom, become the top. But I loved that project. Lucky wife to have that in her home. 😊
How appropriate that you put this video up on Twelfth Night, the official beginning of the Mardi Gras season here in South Louisian. That wine glass would be appropriate for the Krewe of Bacchus named for the Roman God of Wine. Beautiful piece with the epoxy swirls being spot on. Well done!
Well done Jim I think you outdone yourself again with this one it ended up amazing. Great colour mix really makes it unique. And good on your wife for a great idea of a large wine glass well done to her too.
What a lovely piece of art work think it's the best you've done, the colour of the resin bowl is so beautiful. I think your wife was right, the original base didn't match but now is great. Look forward to your next master piece.
Thank you for your suggestions last week about where to find gouges ... we have since joined a local woodworkers association and are looking forward to all sorts of classes ... so your legacy is alive and well in the northeast US :)
Beautiful wine glass. The resin turned out great. Good thing you live in an area with a snow bank handy. so who is going to be brave enough to fill it up and drink it down? That would be quite the glass of wine! Designer epoxy.
Catching up on all your latest videos. Love this one too and you are right. The clear resin at the top really does add to it looking like a glass. Another great job. 👍 😊
I must admit, I could not envision what you were going for. A giant wineglass with clear, blue, green, and gold resin bowl, with a wood stem and base?? Yikes, that sounds …. ummmm ….. interesting? But I actually like it a lot!! That bowl is stunning!!! And you do turn some pretty wood! And that’s why I love watching your channel - you have a great artist’s eye! Really neat finished piece. Congrats Peter Kipfer! I hoped to at least see my name go into the bowl - 2 doubles and no me. Oh well!!
That was a fun project. I was skeptical at the first and thought, I don’t think this is going to gel, but it really came out in the end. I really love the resin. The pattern is really nice, especially with the clear. It would be fun to have a large ceremonial goblet for all sorts of things. Good job!
I absolutely LOVE the clear mixed in with the colors! I still would love to see clear with your leftover colored resin balls, but this was close! Beautiful!
That wine glass is almost big enough for my mother in law! God rest her soul.
Lol, thanks!
The resin for the top turned out beautifully. The replacement foot fits the stem pattern much better. The resin in the foot really ties in with the resin cup
Totally, thanks!
I absolutely love this idea of your wife's, and it turned out beautifully!
Thank you very much!
