Yoo your timing is absolutely perfect, i was scratching my mind trying to find a review about this all over the internet just yesterday and here you are. Thanks man
I upgraded to this cable from the original Gramr, but I just put the original Gramr mic on the Pro cable instead of using the garbage Pro mic (its the same exact connector and notching). Great balance of both worlds.
For the main selling point of this cable (the microphone), it's sad how they implemented a boom mic that sounds worse than the MC1, which is 1/8th the price. If I wanted an overpriced microphone with this sound quality shoved in my face, I would quit the hobby and get an $80 gaming headset. Incredible review as always, very honest and straight to the point!
You’re right. Not sure what the point of spending more for a boom mic than an inline mic is if it doesn’t sound better and costs more and is more awkward.
I would rather the ends terminate separately for output and mic so I can us it with the Schiit Gunnr. But I think the product is good enough that I would get a Y splitter to use it with a DAC with separate audio and mic inputs.
This should have a better quality for the price they asking. Quick question,do you have any plans to review the NiceHCK Alloy Ultra, looks like a very good cheap modular cable🤔
Such a chill voice, time to go on a watch-roll. May even learn something about iem cables. As for the Gramr Pro tho, as other said - underwhelming. With how good audio can sound these days for very cheap, i expected more from China for 83$ (if not mistaken). I may work in COD or some other toxic competitive shooter lobby to piss people off tho. But other than that, yeah, sound quality is very poor.
I just received this cable, my R connector is also pretty funky looking. Thankfully I have a good fit and it feels comfortable for me. The connector fits my Truthear Zero and I get audio which I believe was a problem with the first Gramr. How did you get the microphone audio on PC? I can't get anything from the microphone, from any of the ports on my PC or from my Focusrite Scarlett Solo.
I record the mic tests on iPhone using the voice recorder app. I plug the cable into an Apple dongle first. You need a 3.5mm combo jack (TRRS) or a breakout cable that splits the mic and headphone jacks, or something like a USB-C Apple dongle.
@@IEMCableReviews Ok thanks! I ordered a USB-C dongle and a 3.5mm splitter, I will see which of the two options works better for me. To be honest I am a little disappointed in the microphone quality that was shown in this video. The first Gramr sounded better in reviews to me than this one did in this video. But I will see for myself tomorrow.
@@Jason-jk3tnok cool, I’m curious what you think, let me know how it works out. I wonder if the mic tests in my videos make the mics sound worse than they are, since people are listening to the sample recording right before and after listening to my studio mic. Anyway, let me know how it sounds for you!
@@IEMCableReviews It did not work with the USB-C dongle, and it did not work with the audio splitter through my Focusrite Scarlett Solo. It did work with the splitter directly to the jacks on my computer. Unfortunately, the mic sounded like hot garbage. Very quiet and similar to the sound shown in your review. Overall, looks nice, was comfortable, somewhat confusing to setup with limited knowledge on audio, sounded terrible and definitely not worth the price for me.
@IEMCableReviews I just purchased this cable 2 days ago for my xenns mangird tea pro. Hopefully they work out. Do you recommend any other good quality cable with mic. I would be using it for gaming voice chat
the original Gramr is kinda off. Cable feels nice and all, but the sleeving on mine just popped out of the 2pin connector and is now only held by the tiny wirtes going to that connector, so the cable is more or less useless now. Seems like there was some type of oily contamination when the cable was made that ended up making the glue fail in the long run. Cant really recommend the regular Gramr therefore, as i have no idea if that issue is a one off or happens to more people.
Im just looking for a decent mic to pair with the truthhear crinacle zeros. Just need something for the casual gaming session to communicate. Do you have any suggestions? Im new to all this iem stuff.
It’s a prettier cable, but functionally I doubt it’s an improvement over the Ruyi, unless maybe you need to fit some IEM with a more recessed 2-pin that Ruyi won’t fit. Otherwise, I would probably stick with the Ruyi if it’s working well for you.
@@IEMCableReviews cable wise its pretty low quality build (ruyi), but mic wise its clearer than that gramr pro (which is unfortunate), for now i still stick with ruyi until i accidentally snap it (and i have moondrop mc2 spare that i ussualy use for outdoor), thanks for the reply btw :)
80 dollars for a modular cable with the modular part being not tight, and still 2 cores compared to the regular gramr. I personally think there are better options, but even between its family the only reason i would see going for the gramr pro over the og gramr is the color scheme. Overall not a good value in my opinion based on your video and a few others from other channels. Keep it up, this is my new channel that I anticipate for weekly. I appreciate the work and good job!
There's actually a pretty obvious reason why someone would pick the gramr pro over the og gramr: if you're trying to add a microphone to an iem with a recessed 2-pin connector, the og gramr's right side 2-pin doesn't protrude enough to seat properly (despite the left side being fine). So it's nice at least that kinera finally released a version without that major flaw.
@@SaveMeAzathoth 100% correct. The 2-pin on the Gramr Pro is a big improvement in this regard, over both the OG Gramr and most other boom mic cables, which have cruddy 2-pin plugs, especially on the mic side.

Holy crap the mic quality is underwhelming AF for the price. Thanks for the review. Great channel. Subscribed.
Thanks for the sub. Yeah the mic is just ok.

The MC1, MC2 and Zombur all seem to work well enough.
I got some from Xinhs, still I think a little usb mic is still so much better on pc.

Probably MC1 or MC2, they seem to be really decent. I have reviews of both.

Do you think will the 2 pin fit with ziigaat arete
Yes
do you have a option for microphone monitoring with this?
No
i kind thinking to upgrade from my kinera Ruyi to this and i dont think i want it considering the mic is somewhat worse? cable looks more good though

How does it fit with the ZiiGaat Aretes?
Should fit fine
Keyboards and audio, maybe the two most expensive hobbies 😅
How on earth is the microphone better on the much cheaper Celest Ruyi??? 🤯

Not sure how good the other boom mic options are, but for inline mic cables, MC1 MC2 and Zombur are all good value cables.
