One of my best concert memories ever is yelling out "MOON RIVER!!" when I was drunk and he played it right away. Bless his heart.

Seeing Kid Koala play children's songs in a giant koala costume, right before Deltron 3030 performed with an orchestra for free in Brooklyn --- Priceless.

Please bring in more electronic producers and DJs. They have the most expansive, varietal selections most of the time and it makes for great episodes like this one.

Kid koala made me want to be an artist when I was growing up in the early 2000's. His work changed my life.

Records like that Kojak one are such treasures in my opinion. I found a Christmas record featuring children's stories with a book to read along. I have a daughter and I can't wait to play the record and read with her. There really is something about it encouraging reading and imagination!

Been a fan of his since I first heard his album “carpal tunnel syndrome” back in like 2001. It blew my mind at the time since I was just being introduced to the whole turntablism culture. Saw him open up for Ben Harper and Jack Johnson back in the day too. Very cool intelligent dude. ✌️ Please get DJ Shadow in here!!

Jazz, sound effects, hip hop; it all speaks to KK's origins and his evolving style. He grabbed the vocal samples for Temple of Gloom from one such narrative LP.

@@handsomeb.wonderful2437 That kinda depends on the quality of tape and mastering. Some cassettes sound pretty damn good. Also incredibly portable. You can't fit a record or cd in your front pocket.

"Carpal Tunnel Syndrome" is one of the finest turntablist albums around as well as the soundtrack to the live-action/animated ZOOM. I also love the Koalas collaborations with Dan the Automator and Gorillaz, I think? Ninja Tune is one of the best labels around namely due to people like him, Mr. Scruff, Amon Tobin, Funki Porcini, Bonobo, etc?

was lucky to have caught him when he opened for radiohead at suffolk downs in boston during their kid-a/amnesiac tour. then saw him at the original met café on his own several years later. you cannot leave his show uninspired!

I won a comp with now defunct UK alt-dance magazine Jockey Slut. The prize was 2 Technics, big-ass speakers, a mixer and some Plus Kid Koala came round our flat and DJed for us. Then they all left and i sat in the dark surrounded by alot of brand new equipment. Was a great but weird Sunday evening.
