I've followed this tutorial and made the shirt myself using Jaquard dyes. It's absolutely one of my favorite designs ever.

Looks like a color-safe detergent. Dawn dish soap (the real, blue stuff) is good to wash out tie dye, it doesn't trouble the colors at all.
For a split second, I thought it was kids' bubble solution! 😅

Could you do this same sort of thing but with the lightening bolt zigzagging diagonally down and across the body from the shoulder? You could still blend it into fire on either side, or something else like more deep blue and deep purple and then into black like it is streaking across a dark sky.
Love your work! Is the Soda Ash worth it? I have done the die with my kids from the Michael's kits and they turned out quite vibrant and lasted years through many washes....wish I knew about these intricate folds and nice color blends that you do back then.
You make me want to try tie dye. I never have. You make the coolest designs. Was that a special detergent that you used at the end, or will any detergent work?

You can use Synthrapol or blue Dawn. You can put the shirt in a bag but it is not necessary in order to cure the shirt after dyeing.

The first two rubber bands are where I've been screwing up I think. My spiral is never tight enough.

@@loopthetube I have let that thing sit for days in hopes of a better result. Still a washed out pastel is the best I've managed. I feel like a tie dye failure
@@fleurpouvior2967 the last time I did it was in the 70s and probably used Rit Dye so I'm sure I failed lol. I bet the dye is better now.

@@fleurpouvior2967 Michaels.com has tie dye kits on sale right now! Only fill the bottles half way for brighter colors. Wash with color safe bleach after :)
