Never imagined that TD was so complex.
It's not, but if you want specific things to happen when you make a shirt, it is. There's varying levels of craftsmanship, this is on the high end. Basically, if you want to do it, you should try it, never get intimidated by stuff.
You can take anything “simple” and make it more complex.

I used your pattern to try out my first tyedye, used only bleach and warm water on a black shirt and did the procedure exposed to the sun. The nice V shape rocks.

Everybody on youtube makes the initial half fold look so easy. One day after many trash folds i hope to have an effortless fold.

Same, I wish I saw this this morning before I tie dyed. I dyed a sweatshirt with a pleated design along the sleeves and of course it folded over 😐😐 I was wondering how to avoid that
Use clamps, the smallest telescoping kind!

Have you ever tried using strong magnets and thin steel wire to pinch the shirt? Seems like it might work good for curves, here you pleated both sides of the line but otherdesigns it might be useful
