AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I can't stress how much did this tutorial help me! No I'm not talking about modeling, I'm about this one step at 5:00 where you gave the lamp itself just an emission shader. In my project I have a "table" which basically are 2 planes on top of each other. bottom plane is a reflective white material and the top one is glass. This makes it look really like this laminated surface you can oftentimes see at cafes or offices. And so when I was making a lamp (similar to the one shown here), I made a lightbulb itself from glass and just put a light inside of it. The problem occured when the light from it interacted with the glass of the table. For some reason, when rendered in cycles it caused the denoiser to freak out and make the entirety of the table look wavy like it was molten. I tried changing the amount of light bounces, everything, but nothing was working. But then I watched this... AND IT WORKED! Now my table looks normal. Thanks!
